  • John Kelly was a good McCoy. Why don't they keep him?

  • Has anyone noticed that "Dr. McCoy" looks remarkably like "Chandler Bing" (Matthew Perry) from NBC's "Friends"?

  • The dialogue is a near-exact duplicate of "Mind-Sifter" by Shirley Maiewski, part of a compilation of 8 fan-authored stories in the 1976 compilation "Star Trek: The New Voyages," published by Bantam Books. I hope the production won't be as depressing as the original story was.

  • Great scene, excellent acting. I want to see the full episode!

  • What happened to Kelley?! This isn't a bad replacement, though.

  • @BKL8008 I've read at the trek PII site that John Kelley has moved on for various reasons. I admit i'll miss him playing bones, but yeah this new bones is a pretty good addition. I can't wait to see more of this episode as well as the others they got waiting in the wings for us.

  • They still put out good stuff. A very faithful new Bones.

  • Spock in gold command shirt.

  • i cant wait to see this episode

  • i read mind sifter years and years ago, good story. good idea making it an episode!

  • Was Mr Spock using an E6B aviation slide rule?

  • A minor heads up: I think Mr Spock would have used the term "90th day" instead of "90 day anniversary". Otherwise an excellent performance.

  • OH YEAH!

  • Where's McCoy's Georgia accent???

  • @1967xmen Usually only showed up when he was drunk or teasing Spock or Kirk... ;-)

  • Bravo, David!

  • Yowza, great job! I'll miss john, but the new guy does make a good Bones. I can't wait to see what happens in this new episode as well.

  • Congrats Guys

    Looks great

  • Man, Spock really looks washed out in a command tunic. Perhaps it's the green tint to his Vulcan makeup. I can see why they kept Nimoy in blue after "Where No Man Has Gone Before"

  • "Mind Sifter" has long been my favorite Star Trek short story. Brandon here captures the scene perfectly. Can't wait for the rest of the episode!

  • Love it. Brandon is a great fit for Spock. Yeah I know he is showing emotions in this scene but we can't jump to conclusions without seeing the entire episode.

  • @tenaciousbt1 I agree. Brandon is a great fit for Spock - after

all, wasn't he a stand in for Zachary Quinto? And, hey, Ben

    Tolpin didn't do too bad.

  • David is awesome!

  • Spock showing emotion??

I like the new Dr. :)

  • @vtmoondog Spock's outburst is odd. The title Mind Sifter makes me think that his mind may be compromised.

  • @thor97470 Eh, Spock got emotional at least a few times when his friends were involved. Anyone remember "Jim!! You're alive!!!" (big grin)? Or how crushed and despondent he looked while holding and comforting McCoy during "The Empath"? Anyway, it will all make sense when you see the finished episode...
