  • This aria is actually called "Presto. amiche" :)

  • superb!

  • o my God that outfit! Beverly Sills' wardrobe folks sure got her into some colorful and kitschy clothes! Love it!

  • @AmericanEvita This period looks like the 1790's to me; I've always enjoyed this look, coming as it does after the overblown Baroque and before the extrememly spare Regency.

  • In ingleseeee!!!!????

  • haha i listened to this 3 times before i noticed it was in english

  • I like her best in light lyric bel canto roles like this, it suites her voice well.

  • Grandissima come sempre!

  • Adio, mia criada, mi corazon, mi canta de bilbilico

  • All of the non-singing heffas out here today need to take a lesson from the book of SILLS. maybe they wil learn how to give a live perfomance worth watching. Viva to the Diva, Beverly Sills!

  • I enjoyed your cheerful soprano voice and the joyful drama, smile. keep up the good works !!!

  • Sorry, but this isn't "Turco", it's Lisetta's first aria from "La Gazetta", also by Rossini. Still, very nicely done!!! Well, can you expect less from Sills? She's a fabulous actress and her singing is always well charactarised.

  • Sills sings "Presto, dico" from Rossini's La Gazzetta (in English) interpolated into her performance in "Il Turco in Italia"

  • For further clarification:

This aria is "Presto, amici" (in English) - alternate aria from "Il Turco in Italia, later reused in "La gazzetta" as "Presto, dico."

  • Yes, but according to the Ricordi sheet music for this aria, it's actually "Presto amiche." In other words, she's addressing her female friends. "Amiche" is the feminie plural of amica. Also according to Ricordi, this aria is from Turco in Italia.

  • Whoops. I thought it was a Ricordi score I was looking at. It is indeed music published by Masters Music Publications, Inc.

  • Hiigar, didn't you read director comments? - alternate aria from "Il Turco in Italia", later reused in "La gazzetta" as "Presto, dico."
