yeh frakking call-center games.. Dumb, manipulative creating competition where none is required just breeds hostility down the road. Just another way for managers to control you.
@gc3833 No not really. These call center jobs are pretty much manipulative assembly-line-in-the-head organizations. You have to be micromanaged or play these stupid games. I wonder if there are any of those team bonding exercises here? Perhaps they all are! I have no desire to bond with people that I would not normally associate with.
@gc3833 They're not supposed to!! A fake family of the lowest caliber folks. Thank god they won't bond! You got a tough challenge, even you said so yourself. Most agents don't want to be there. And people the don't wanna be there just do the minimum, and have no ambition. The worst of the lot!
I wouldn't depend to much on the games to promote moral.
We had competitions in our CC, but the games don't show the agents that you care. Being there for them, stopping by their cubicle, taking time to talk to them, and giving them a small gift... showing them that you care, thats the real morale booster
Stupid-assed "red fish", "green fish", "gold fish" bonus kiddie games. They make U do this in call centers to dumb you down and slave for the greater good of "productivity"! Get to work!!! Make you do it!
a very good analogy: what mcdonalds is to restaurants, call center is to business. call centers arent a real business, nor are the people involved, could be taken seriously.
I never cared for these silly games. I would show up and do my job. I did'nt need contest. I found them quite annoying. If I was a supervisor I would not want employees who would need this kind of motivation. You log on, you log off, and go home. That's it. Do your job! There's no need for some dumb pizza party!
Ugh, thank god I no longer work for ANY call center. Out of every call center I have worked for, it seems like there is a hidden requirement that you must partake in these so-called "motivation" games. JUST COMPLETE THE TRAINING, PUT US OUT ON THE FLOOR, LET US WORK OUR 8 HOUR SHIFT, AND GO HOME!
I work in western union international and im a support specialist. Ive been working this call center for more than 3 years and i cant complain of anything, good pay, good schedules. call centers rulez

Hey dealing with 150 people a day can wear you down. Screw all that, dealing with the general public can drive you mad.

Unfortunately not all employees act and work the way you do. This is just an additional resource to help improve performance.

Does it say anywhere that the call center workers are only allowed 11 minutes per day to use the bathroom?
