There something incredibly endearing about music that creeps in (which is barely audible for about a minute). It's the REAL fade in, without effects. A lot of ECM cats were excellent at hooking you with this (Towner, Abercrombie). It MAKES you listen by drawing you in, but doesn't spoon-feed you. You have to work for it. Listen with this level of concentration enough, and it will change your life, undoubtedly.
