  • wow. my family has that same screwdriver and has had it since i can remember.

  • Hey I know this is old. But thank you very much. I was very scared following picture guides because I was unsure of how much pressure and how to pry the things apart. This helped a lot.

  • It's very easy...

Of course thanks to you sir. This video was very helpful, thanks for sharing it with us.

  • thanks man this will help me a lot!!

  • do you have to disconnect the battery before doing all of this?

  • The battery can be disconnected.

  • @BallxSkillz Thanks for taking the time to make this video, it helped me A LOT! It's the little things, like how hard it is to remove the 8 really tight screws, I would have stripped them out for sure had it not been for you. Please keep up the good work, you are what makes the internet so useful! Thanks again Bob.

  • Pink ...com on man...

  • I have held onto this screw driver for years! No one else will claim it and it is easy to locate when dropped in the car...

  • Thank you, I know you posted this forver ago, but I just came to the issue. The main black (AC adapter type wire , main power) has two prings on it. The new stero only has one hole (like headphones jack) Where can I get an adapter? Im looking everywhere....

Thanks if you can help. SL

  • IF, you are talking about the antenna jack? Adaptors are available at most auto part stores or installation shops.

  • Oh man, this looks so simple. I'm having a hard time with my '96 Altima.

  • The '96 Altima is totally different, see the website mentioned in the video for other removal guides.

  • Hi, thanks for the video. i have removed my stereo from my 2003 Nissan Pulsar but I cannot unscrew the mounting screws. three of the four screws turn just fine but it's like they spin around without coming out. no amount of unscrewing will remove them. they just spin and spin. i don't understand it. the fourth is pretty tight and i can't get it to turn at all. can you help? thanks.

  • Mounting screws could have a stripped base. Apply pry pressure to the back of the mounting bracket at each screw, Unscrew with very little forward pressure on the screw and they may be removed. As for the fourth screw, make sure you have a good screw driver that mates to the head of the screw well.

  • My bass gas been coming and going lately on my 2000 maxima. Would any of the wires behind the stereo have an affect on the bass amp in the back dash? I don't want to remove it if there's no way it would fix my system. And if you have any other suggestions for fixing it please let me know. Thanks

  • @BMoore1346 This is a common problem with the 2000 Maxima, see the website mentioned in this video for a repair estimate and help with the removal.

  • thanks bob youre the best

  • Im having trouble removing the mounting screws, do you have any suggestions?

  • @aisanshorty Mounting screws on the sides of the stereo are difficult. Try a small hammer and tap on them to loosen.

  • would it be the same for a 2000 Nissan Alrima??

  • Totally different vehicle, different removal.

  • Thanks a lot. You make it look easy.

  • This video wass extremely helpful since I now have to remove my newly bought stereo I had put in my Nissan Maxima. I have to remove it and re-install the orig stock radio because my car was labeled totaled by ins of girl that hit my car! body shop will NOT remove it cause insurnce insp already incl it in his inspection of car. Body shop guy said I can remove it and put old radio instead, since salvage lot will keep radio and Bose system that came with car! All this b cause of a foolish drivr!

  • Thank you

  • thank you

  • don't ever use a screwdriver to remove a panel. It can break or damage it. Use a Bojo tool instead.

  • Harbor Freight also sells the knock off for a lesser amount.

  • Very good nice video thank you for posting this. Very helpful for anybody replacing a deck or hooking anything up to an existing deck. Thanks again bravo.

  • PERFECT !!!!

  • how about a 1997 Nissan 200SX?

  • @bchennault85 See the website mentioned in the video, over 12,000 removal guides posted, including the '97 200SX.

  • This is a great video. Now my car looks nice with the after market stereo ;)

  • Hey Thanks for making this video was very helpfull....

  • How about a Nissan Altima 2003?

Do you a video tutorial for this model?

    Thanks!!!!

  • @777OGT Presently no video available for this one. The removal is available on the website carstereoremoval (dot) com.

  • he's using a PINK screwdriver... haha... YES!!!

  • Yes, it is pink. You don't leave this one laying around and loosing it!

  • Theres nothing on the website for a susuki esteem

  • If your local to the shop, Orlando Fl. area, bring it by. We can add it to the website!

  • @boblizcou daaaamn to bad i live in british columbia. LOL

  • does this work for a 97 model gle?

  • No, the '97 is different. Removal guides are available for the at the website mentioned in the video.

  • No, see the website mentioned in the video for the '97.

  • if your having a really hard time getting those last screws out, When you are trying to remove them you are probably pusing down really hard, Well because you are pushing down you are working against yourself trying to screw up, so push down and tighten the screw just a nudge in order to "break the seal" of them and then remove the screws as you normally would. it may help prevent horror stories like the guy below me and you wont have to drill at your radio just because of a screw

  • This is a great idea!, It works some of the time too...

  • wow the last 4 screws seemed a lot easier to remove than in my case, i broke 2 phillips heads trying to get them out and had to drill 3 of them out and destroyed 2 drill bits doing that, really tough screws, but mine was 03

  • Thanks a lot dude

  • Very helpful thanks;)

  • I Have A 96 Maxima.Any Tips For That Model?

I Think IGet The Gist But Im Just A Liddle Hesitant Of Prying Open The Dash Panels & Such.Great Video By The Way.

  • The video mentions a website, the removal guide for your Maxima can be found there.

  • The Maxima usually has the Bose system. It will take several adaptors, wire harness and installation kit to make this stereo work properly. Adpators needed witl be a Hi/Low level adaptor that can be adjusted to match to the input level of the Bose amplifier, the second is an antenna adaptor. Visit one of your local installation shops for the right stuff. There is usually a loud pop associated with changing the factory stereo out when turning the stereo on and off.

  • dont you guys hate those kind of radios? you cant change it to a custom one. thats why i like those old cars sometimes

  • Being in the repair business, we like all factory stereos. The Nissan stereos are one of many we take care of world wide.

  • do these stereos come with factory rca wires in the back of em to hook up to a subwoofer? i've been searching everywhere to find out

  • No factory stereo has RCA's. There are adaptors available that will take audio levels to RCA for the addition of amplifiers.

  • does anyone know if its reasonable to replace the volume knob. My friends maxima cannot change the volume so would he have to replace the whole radio to get it to work

  • In many cases, these stereos have a surface mount volume control. Remove the knob should give access to the control. Radio Shack sells a "Control/Contact Cleaner". Spray the control, rotate and repeat several times. In many cases this can take care of the problem. Otherwise, this is one we would have to see for replacement and repair. CarStereoHelp "dot" com

  • The video itself is very well done, but that dash looks nothing like my 2003 Altima. It's the 2.5 liter.

  • This video is for the Nissan Maxima. For the Altima, see the website mentioned in the video.

  • Do you know if the steps would be the same on a 1998 Maxima?

  • The removal process is different. See the website mentioned on the video CarStereoRemoval "dot"Com

  • Awesome video. Please post one showing how you get that much chest hair to pop out of your shirt? Is eating large quantities of beef jerky the secret? Ha ha ha. Thanks for posting.

  • Popeye was my favorite cartoon, it was the spinach!

  • Hey, first off this was a great vid.

So my 2000 max is having a stereo problem. I dont know if it is the amp, speakers, or if i need a new radio. The radio does not play at all but when i play a cd, you can slightly hear it. Turning the volume up or down doesnt affect what i hear. What do you reckon it may be? Also if I wanted to change the stereo which of the many out there would you recommend? Any feedback would be great

  • Give the shop a call and speak with one of the experts, 800.428-1909.

  • This is one of the best how-to videos I've seen so far. Thank you so much for spending your time to share this very useful and efficient information with us.

  • I have a 2000 nissan maxima that i installed an kenwood kdc-mp2035 deck into... all the wires are properly connected on the harness but i get no sound... this deck has only been in one other car and worls perfectly.. it reads CD's but gives no sound.. do i have to bypass the amp or will it integrate the deck with it?? PLEASE HELP

  • Several things, your installing aftermarket into the Bose system or you did not connect the blue amplifier wire?

  • Radio has audio and there is no audio on CD? You have connected the "Antenna Trigger" to the amplifier turn on wire. Change to the "Amp Trigger" wire from the stereo.

  • wow thats mad easy, thanks for the lil tutorial :)

  • Excellent help! Thank You very much!
