  • Good video on a great gun. I plan on going smaller and getting the Springfield XD in sub compact and in 40 caliber next. The grouping of shots is not that bad . I have found that just using the very end of your finger on the trigger helps more with trigger control yet I am no expert on this I am getting better myself with different guns

  • Right! I loved that Glock 27... But I was short on cash and wanted my Yugo AK-47(review coming soon) bad... The Glock 27 was the oldest pistol I had, and I wanted to try something new! I will end up buying another Glock 27 on day lol! I hike every week and take my Kel-Tec PF9(review coming soon) 12.5 ounces with an uncle Mike's #16 holster to prevent rust from sweat... Can't beat that especially if you hike 5-15 as I see you do on nice long hiking, or camping trips!

  • Nice vid! My next purchase is going to be a Springfield XD subcompact .40! I miss my .40 Glock 27 I sold to get my Yugo AK-47! I want to try the XD subcompact next!

  • @GUNQUEST21 Man that's funny! I've been looking at the Glock 27 lately. I really like the Springfields. I just want to get the 27 for hiking because it is so light for a .40 and is very rust resistant. Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with either brand. I personally like the looks of the Springfield and I think both have great reliability. Glock has a little weight savings advantage. I don't know...take your pick...both are great choices.

  • Woo! Thanks man. So is the Springfield XD9 a good pistol? I'm getting one for Christmas. If you could make a video of you breaking it down and cleaning the gun I'd be thankful. :)

  • What is this song called??? :D

  • @TheSacredKier The song is: Rescue Me. Artist: L4M. You can download it for free at ccmixter.org. Thanks for watching my friend!

  • I was watching Tactical Arms hosted by Larry Vickers, and he said a good way to test if you had great trigger control, was to have your gun unloaded, in the ready to fire position, and have a friend put an empty casing on the front sight. If you can press the trigger without the casing falling off, you have perfect trigger control. I havent tested that yet, but might be interesting to do. Good shooting, and a beautiful area to shoot!

  • @tim12161974 Hey thanks for the tip. That's why I love You Tube. I learn things every time I'm on here. I think if you are able to put your ego aside, you can improve so many things and learn from many great teachers.

  • @SnowLobo95 That's why I started watching vids on YT and still do... To learn, because there is so much knowledge out there with everyone. I love that, and through it I have made some good friends, and just enjoy having fun with it. That's what it is all about to me.

  • @tim12161974 Well said my friend! My thoughts exactly.

  • Nice firearm. Thanks for sharing and posting for us.

  • You should tape up a picture of obama....nah, just kidding

  • That is ne of the best pistols on the market! Must've cost a pretty penny

  • I think you did great with the shooting. All center mass. Exactly what the gun was intended for.

  • @chanderson1 Thanks man! You are too kind. I'm no Hickock 45 though. Hopefully I can improve as I get more trigger time with the gun.

  • No probs brother, anytime, again sorry about the huge posts, late at night when i did them.

  • the only reason on using the top pad of ur trigger finger instead of the joint is that if u look at the action of "pulling" with your joint , you should see that the finger will pull in more to the right, therefore making the gun go the left, if u use the pad its more of a straight pull back, therefore less wandering to the left( hope this make sense) and it does take a lil practise to get use to pulling the trigger with the pad.

  • Btw only a sugestion on pull'n left, have you got a pistol rest/sandbag or a realy stable platform? just to make sure of true zero on your rear sights esp. also, sorry dont mean to push anything bro, just trying to help a fellow shooter, try pull'n the trigger with the pad part of your finger not the joint part , if u dont already hard to see in vid, anyway brother i hope that helps

  • @TheDishD Thanks for your advice with the XD trigger pull. I love You Tube because I have direct access to so much experience and good info. I value your opinion greatly on this. With you being X military you have had some training that I haven't had. As for the trigger pull I try to remember to use the pad of my finger but I think I slip back sometimes and use the joint (bad habit) I also do indeed need to shoot it off a rest. Thanks man!

  • good vid bro, cant get the XD here, but i can get the HS2000 which is the XD but under a diffrent name croation made, plus can only have a 10 rnd mag and barrel must be min of 120 mm (yes our government sux) nice shooting too bad guy down!!

  • nice vids man, subd

  • I have a XDM 40 and i shoot left too.. Cant really figure it. Trigger maybe? anyone else have the same problem?

  • @TheBeeperman Well brother you and I have the same problem. Most have told me it's trigger pull so I'm going to do my best to correct my technique.

  • Some ammo hit to point of aim and some don't but any one of those hits is a man stopper. Tha pistol looks awsome i've never had one since i am an old timer i was used to the S&W model 39 Berreta 92, and 1911's but would love to have one some day. Thanks Lobo for showing us this video.

  • @EDINBURGSTAR I guess stopping the threat is the main priority. Still I want to make my shots look pretty on paper lol. Also there's nothing wrong with those old school guns you listed. I would love to own any one of them. As far as I have heard they all have a proven track record.

  • Nice shooting Lobo. I have a subcompact xd 9mm and love. Shoots very well and I've never had any problems with it.

  • @Cr0cket20 I think I saw your video with your XD. I think you were popping baloons and then had to kill some zombies but first threw up in your mouth lol. Now that was some shooting......especially with a subcompact. I hope I'm not confused with which gun you were using in that video.

  • i think your groups were pretty good. slowing down between shots and shooting more often is the best ways i have found to tighten up tho. you seem to have a nice collection of fire arms. do you have a 1911?

  • @NSE54 Thank you for the advice. No I don't have a 1911. I would love to get one some day but all of them seem so expensive. I guess you get what you pay for though sometimes.

  • Great shooting you are not taking sniper shots with a hand gun the left is probably trigger pull. Your shots are in the boiler room there done with the shot placement.

  • @medicjimr Haha. I think maybe only Hickock45 can snipe with a hand gun Lol. Thanks for the encouragement.

  • @SnowLobo95 your always welcome my friend

  • Over the years I have bought handguns and found after I shot them that for what ever reason I just couldn't get tight groups. Then you pick up another and you can almost hole shoot with that one. Never made any sense to me. When I want to shoot real tight I always have to go with my Colt combat commander. Nice video.

  • @biguy525 You may be right. I may never get super tight groups with the XD. Someone else might make a 1" hole with 17 rounds. Hopefully I can figure out what I'm doing wrong and get a little tighter grouping. I wouldn't mind owning a Colt Combat Commander:)

  • To answer your question...usually it's trigger pull. I have the same issue from time to time. It's all about trigger time thought bro. You'll get it!

    Great vid!

  • @74Hobbes I'll keep putting rounds in the target and iron out the issues. Thanks for your encouragement.

  • @SnowLobo95 No problemo!! Remember your fundamentals, slow down and everything will come in time. Remember, if you're just throwing lead downrange and you're not doing the right things...then you're JUST throwing lead downrange...AND wasting money! Doing the small things slowly will not only make you look like you don't know what you're doing(lol!)...it will also help with muscle memory, which will help A LOT down the road.

  • To the left would say to me it is trigger pull, but I havn't shot a XD so can't say... at least your on target.. first few times I took out my PF9 went thru 2 mags before I got near it. Keep up the great vids, bud.

  • @Vhammer2010 I suspected it was something I was doing. Also with the small weight and size of the PF9 I can see how it would be a chore to get accustomed to shooting it. I'm sure it would take almost everyone a fair amount of shooting to become proficient. I would love to see a review on the PF9. That is a gun I want to buy one day.

  • In regards to people leaving garbage: It is definitely a problem everywhere. Folks that recreate in the outdoors are always at odds with the "Greenies" that want to close areas off. Check in with other groups (4x4, motorcycle, Boy Scouts etc.) that use the area and see if any are interested in a volunteer co-op clean up. In our area, the local sanitary company is always happy to donate a dumpster, and the positive press keeps the "Greenies" at bay.

  • @HawkLMT Hawk I was thinking the same thing. It would be a good thing to get a small army out there and use a Saturday cleaning the area up. I'm not a "greenie"(I think they have a very radical agenda and they use the environment for that purpose). However I do care about the environment and want to keep it nice for future generations. I also don't want to see a great recreational area get shut down.

  • @SnowLobo95 -You hit the nail on the head! Folks like us that use the land are actually WAY more interested in preserving the land than the "Greenies" give us credit for.

  • Nice day of shooting for you and the Mrs. When I am in the market for a 9mm, it will probably be a Springfield.

  • @HawkLMT You won't regret it. Springfield's are sexy LOL.

  • Hey Bro, I don't know if you do this, but when I get a new gun now I keep a journal with it of: how many rounds, type of ammo, any failures & whatever else I deem pertinent. It gives me a history on each gun & helps on future maintenance.

  • @CampfireTalk No I haven't done that before. I'm usuall trying to estimate how many rounds I've shot ect. Keeping a record could really help out. Especially where I'm having some problems.

  • The XD is simply awesome, I have never owned one but have shot them at the range. I am not convinced the M is worth the extra money, but I guess it depends what the gun is being used for. Anyway that is a cool little training setup you were using, simple and effective, lots of fun to watch as well, thanks for sharing it with us.

  • @pwrmek The XDm version is cool but I'm not sure at this point if it's worth the extra price. It might be but this gun was too good of a price to pass up. So far I don't regret getting it.

  • good shooting, great shooting range, whats the membership fee? lol

    thanks for your time

    roger

  • @RNURSEWOODS Thanks my friend! The membership fee consists of the range user picking up after themselves:)
