not if they thought it was to complicated to just explain about him but far too sad to give him a part in their movie(killing Simba's adult father was one thing, but killing a defenceless cub is quite another). It is like in any movie, there is atleast 40% of the character you don't see that allows different actors to portray them differently(backstory, mannerisms, relationships, etc.)

He was born before Nala, and it is assumed that he is the cub at the end of TLK, since the colors don't match with Kiara. The comics never show Kopa dying but since he isn't in TLK2 and is never mentioned again it is assumed that he died.

I believe this is based off of the book or comic, which I've heard goes into more detail. So yes, the movie shows Simba's daughter, Kiara, but leaves many characters out, such as Kopa.

He was also in a series of six books called The Six New Adventures of the Lion King that came out after the movie's release. Because of the fact that they did not include him in the second Lion King, fans have created their own reason as to why that is, saying that Zira killed Kopa in retaliation for Simba killing Scar.

It makes sense, though, that it's the reason that Simba is so overprotective of Kiara in the second movie because he's afraid to loose her, too.

The movie is an adaptation of the REAL story. But obviously Disney didn't want to have kopa's story be told, him die, and then tell Kiara's story. 1) it'd be too long (not that I'd mind) and 2) kids don't like to see kids (cubs) die....which is dumb...
