  • Good idea, but it sounds like shit...like your Crate amplifier.

  • It sounds pretty bent to me yes.

  • Drum machine converted into toy train?

  • Nice machine Dude. Shame you messed it up. Can you fix it again? I was wondering, dose any one know of a company that makes bent up machines NEW, Oh no, of course not because they sound sh,t

  • Video demos are only useful if it's recorded properly. You really need to record direct. Using the mic on your camcorder doesn't give us an accurate demo. It sounds like shit. It's really a waste of both your & our time. PLEASE record it direct then repost it. Thanks.

  • @937emotion if its wasting your time then its as easy as turning your computer off and stop wasting our time...

  • @igarcia84 Likewise

  • circuit bent shit sound

  • can you give us the tutorial to mod that machine?

  • the audio quality is crap. i can't tell what it really sounds like

  • That last beat is wicked, great sounds!

  • what does circuit bent mean? i watched videos titled Alesis SR-16 drum machine adn they are ok, but the i watched vids with circuit bent added and i liked they way the sound. the reason im asking is cause i saw an add in craigslist for one, i would buy if it had that electric sound

  • what is the deal with the circut bending ???

  • you are crazy ?? ¬¬

  • At first take, sounds like melodic diarrhea bro.

  • the sound quality is horrible

  • around 1;00 sounds like someone smashing up a dustbin shop.

  • uh i started to bent one of this but suddely i got something wrong and then it started to smell like it was burning ...damn i think i screw it up

  • It probably sounds a lot better when it's not being recorded like this.

  • Awesome mad scientist work. As much as I'd love to learn to bend, I'd hate to fuck up and make my hardware take a shit. For now I run my DM through various pedals and just do some frantic knob twiddling. I use an old Roland r8 mkII, and am thinking of getting a Boss DR5 Dr Rhythm. That beast you made would tear down walls.

  • well...with that kind of attitude, you're never going to get anywhere. go buy a $.50 toy from goodwill, open that piece of shit up and start connecting wires until you get something weird. that is circuit bending, my friend. then when you're more comfortable with probing the depths of a pcb, you can move on to bigger and better gear.

  • classic!

  • sounds a bit rough to me :o( sold as seen or beyond economical repair? lol

  • How eould you use this in recording?

  • So, the white cord running from the breakout box (patch bay) where does it run into the drum machine? Is that the connector at the bottom? Was there a reason you didn't use ribbon cable and went with the hookup?

  • yes the box detaches at the bottom its what I had on hand I wanted it flexable so it could be set up on a table for live shows and easy to detach as well

  • How did you do that particular bend, just hook the patches up to the sixteen legs of the ROM chip?

  • the rom chips there are two of them you spread it out similar to a sk1 there are only 15 bends on here if you know the rom chip you can avoid a reset of the eprom or eproms and also any threat of static from touching the jumpers

  • bomb. keep it up.

  • LAME!

  • dude that is some awesome bending. definately adds a new edge to the SR16. I dont know about circuit bending myself but i have seen people do it. Thanks for the link :)
