well done! Too bad the Acelas were not moving at top speed, but I guess they won't be really moving until we can get modern road beds. But what is a 'meatball/'
DAMN, looks like the toasters got their ASS KICKED that day, the HHP-8's dominated the Regionals in this vid, I usually see it the other way around when I go out. Where'd you shoot this dude?
@skylinevspeciinur I don't only because they are not part of the trains defined "purpose" i/e: a passenger train is composed of a locomotive and the passenger cars that follow. A freight train is composed of a number of locomotives and the freight cars that follow. I'm not trying to make you feel like you're wrong but to understand why some people don't.
red car glitched at the end a bit, he had to do a bit more of a swirve to round it out. Also at the end notice that the bell boy on the right tries to wave to the models. Easy. Slow down, cut the wheel and nail the accelerator. Only works with RWD manual.
It must have been track inspection day, which is why that Acela set had an extra car. The only extra car that Amtrak owns for Acela is 10003, the track inspection car.
Nope, this was on Tuesday. Ive ridden 2250 though, why? And I just dont like 920, its hard to look at without just saying, eww. Lol, if you know what i mean. Its not a clean engine like 937 or 921.
Curious. I've railfanned 2250 at least ten times and only gotten horn from him once, and that was back in february. I don't know what it is, even when I am on the platform next to the track he is on and I wave I never get any horn from him anymore.
It really depends. When I first started railfanning, I never got horn from that train, but now I usually do, but when I see it, im usually in Kingston. Also, he may not give you horn anymore because you upload videos and put train #'s in them. You may think you are doing little harm, but in reality, you actually may be getting the operator in trouble. Which is why you will notice that I havent been putting train #'s in videos. The last thing that I would suspect, is that it is a spareboard train
Cool, thanks for the info. I never include train numbers in my videos for that reason, but I mentioned this one because this month I've been able to get horn from every train I've railfanned at least once, except for 2250. I've been at Forest Hills in Jamaica Plain or Hyde Park MA (both high and low level platforms). I think Hyde Park is at least a 100mph zone judging from what I've seen, although I'm not sure of the exact speed.

In your videos, do they honk because they see you filming or do you have a big sign saying please honk or something like that? Just curious.
