I enjoy intros and branding wut ever the format any youtuber uses. I agree with you that it helps a great deal to remember the channels and the people. Most are very entertaining and creative. Good discussion!
I used to have intro for bandgeek8408, but then I switched computers and was too lazy to try for a new one. With vlogdriver, I made more of an effort, just because those vlogs have a definite theme, and the intro defines them as such. Now, they're a little more functional too, because I put the episode and date in the intro too, which I didn't used to do. I think intros are helpful if you vlog in more than place, because they help distinguish different videos from each other.
I agree. It seems intros are most useful for a very set project, like collab channels or something like your vlogdriver videos, where all the videos are supposed to go together.
I like using intros and outros. Also, I've found a wireless connection at Mom's house, so... I'll be posting a video response to your vlogs earlier this week, today. - Steve
One of the makeup guru's on Youtube, Fafinettex3 uses a Mac Book song on the intro of her videos. I have noticed many many people commenting on other videos using that same song. Usually saying... 'That's fafinette's song' or 'you stole that from fafinette'. It's pretty funny considering millions of people have that very tune default on their laptops, not to mention she wasn't the first to put it on a Youtube video :)
I constantly try to change my intros and outros because I'm never happy with them. I made one I liked. Then I cut my hair. :( BTW it would be really cool if you subbed me because I am trying to get 50 subs by April 30th and well it's very difficult. sorry for the self promo but it would be so helpful! If you don't its totally cool.
They are very useful for branding. And branding a person is okay, I think. There is so much information and media on the web being thrown at us constantly, and maybe someone is just a casual viewer, that repetitive "theme" music is really useful for those viewers. It' flips that "oh I've seen this person before" switch in their head.
I agree. If you really want to make a name for yourself online you really do need to make sure everything you do connects in some way to other things you do.
I've been really sad lately b/c the editing program I was using wouldn't accept my intro mov file. I like my "just another vlog" intro b/c it's super short. I've already had at least two other people borrow it, which I thought was funny since it's my face. Haha.
Oh yeah, I loved that one too. With intros on videos the lengths we make them they really can't be more than a few seconds, and yours was really recognizable while still being short.
i am far too lazy/busy to make an into. they just take up time and whatnot. it's also been so long now that i've just lost interest.
i do like intros more for collab channels, but not so much individual channels, because they signify that it is a collab channel for newbs. but i do like hayley's intro... yes am i am typing this comment as i watch... hmmmmm

I posted the intro to my new vlog series as a video response, but it's okay if you didn't approve it. I understand.

As long as they are not long or distracting, I'm fine with them.
As part of a collab channel, I like intros for them because it gives somewhat of a preview (some of them anyway.)
I would like to make my own intro for the sake film making (since I can have fun with it).
I also agree that it makes videos more
memorable. (like the fiveawesomegirls)
and you could use intros to spotlight music, like the fiveawesomeguys.
or explain the project (like brotherhood2.0, or somewhat nerimon's VEDA)

Loving the VEDA :))

haha, that's pretty funny. Just goes to show how much of an association builds in people's minds between a person and their intro if it's well-done.

Yeah, it kind of sucks when your intro becomes outdated because you change your appearance.

Yup, on collab channels they really do help.

I've been using a sped-up drawing of my user name as my intro/outro.
I feel that it helps make my vids more recognizable.
crimsong19 2 years ago
the only Outro that came to mind as sticking out to me was Mickeleh I love his little simple thing he plays at the of every video.
I may make a video response later.
