In space marine, captain Titus denies he saved the imperial guardsmen in the second mission. He tells them that they saved themselves. And the IG called Titus a lord or god of some description. What's up with this? The space marines also executed any imperial guardsmen who fought alongside them when they attacked the IG base on Kronus.

For example, the Space Wolves actually HATE the Inquisition & to a lesser degree the Administratum For the events surround the First War for Armageddon. About the Kronus incedent, the Blood Ravens actually highly respected General Lukas Alexander, but they had conflicting orders. also, while the 5th Company did fight with the Blood Ravens, that was more out of fear than loyalty.

But sometimes their orders conflict with one anothers, like on kronus when General Alexander was told to claim that world, and the blood ravens were told to purge it. Theres also another story that I heard around where some marines were fighting and were promised guard support against some tyranids. Guard came up, but didn't fire a shot cause they were ordered to by their general, who didn't like marines.

@larkinor (con't) After that happened, their chapter master was all like "Uh no" and declared war on that specific regiment, the high lords of Terra paid no attention to this and pretty much turned their back to the conflict and let whatever happen, happen. But usually they are on the same tide.

Now every Space Marine army of any chapter (with a few exceptions) serve one or more Space Marine Captains. As goes for the Imperial Guard, the smallest regiment to the largest fleet serve under many generals who takes orders from a Lord Commander. Now, these men of power serve the High Lords of Terra but can as everyone be corrupted and descide to fight eachother.
