  • His name was Jimmy Durante, a song and dance commedian from the 1930's who was popular on TV in the 1950's. He also sang "Make Someone Happy" in the movie "Sleepless in Seatle". So I guess I'm in good company!

  • you sound exactly like the narrator from frosty the snow man lmao lol no offense

  • OMG THIS IS SOME HOME DEPOT STUFF I DONT HAVE NONE OF THOSE TOOLS 4GET ILL BUY THE FILTER FOR $99

  • whew! I think I'll buy one...thanks. Well done though.

  • Thank you. Very well done. Professional demonstration that is easy to follow and understand. Thanks again! Wonderful job instructing!!

  • The results are subtle, but if you're serous about home recording and don't want to build a soundproof enclosure, this is the next best thing. And, thanks I sure am lucky to have such a nice workshop!

  • I seen the intro vid., personally I couldn't hear the diff., I suppose when the target audience complains about the audio quality it's time to make adjustments. This how to video probably as good as they get. Hand tools could get the job done. Even with working with the sheet stock, if construction was modified. Appears that you have a nice well equipped shop, you lucky dog ;)

  • Sorry, I don't have them in a written format. Maybe you could get a friend to transcribe them for you?

  • hey do you think you can e-mail me the instructions in a written format? im deaf so i cant hear your instructions on the video.

  • @J0S3YL0CZ530 I can't know if you have a hearing impairment or not, but while it was a bit fast paced, it was easy to follow. Respectfully your request is a "'tall order", to use a common phrase. Considering a written article would have to include illustrations to be a good useful article. With my brain injury that brings me a mix of impairment, support accommodation, but I give the creators of free content a break. Hope you find a way to get this constructed if you need it.

  • A reflection filter minimizes the reflected sound from the environment (walls, ceilings, etc)...it's not an anechoic chamber.

  • doesnt sound pro still picks up noise

  • Awesome. Hope I get to try this soon. Was looking at reflection filters a few months back, they were too expensive. I then tried making something out of a cardboard box and some old shirts I had, didn't work out at all... I guess it's time to go ghetto with this and dish out the cardboard box.

  • i dont have the tools for that so how about i pay you to make me one

  • Awesome job!!!!!

  • You never know!

  • whos says middle age white man cant rap!! :D thx btw!!

  • Like always, it depends (on the microphone used, the singer, etc.) That's why the Mini Studio has a depth adjustment to let you set it for the best performance in any situation.

  • it seems like in pictures i see of these types of filters the mic is usually a foot away from the filter... is that better some reason? seems like it would be good to have it nestled in it as deep as possible, close.

    thoughts?

  • @caseyforever No, you shouldn't have the mic nestled up in there. Secondly, this looks great as in design, but it's anatomically incorrect. The main part to the filter is the mesh aluminim which allows sound to escape. Designing the look is the easy part...he just measured and glued some foam, getting the same sound is the harder part. When he records, his sound is bouncing right off the card board and foam, so it will sound like he's in a box. He's not letting sound escape

  • @CALICOTV301 Im currently in the mix of making this guys little creation and i agree, the sound must escape. So what i did was get foam that was 1 third not as thick as what hes got and i took the time to carve diamond holes in the stirophome with my halloween pumpkin carving set,i have yet to put the foam on to test this but this may be your solution to that!

  • @CALICOTV301 Where should the mic be?

  • Thanks! I tried several angles and found the one that seemed to work best (and hinges would add extra weight). But I'm sure there's room for improvement, so keep coming up with those ideas!

  • That's possible, but it doesn't allow for adjustment. The nice thing about the Mini Studio is that it goes easily from mike stand to mike stand, microphone to microphone, and adjusts up, down, front, and back very easily.

  • Can't you just glue foam into the inside of a box and put it around your mic?

  • Take a look at my comment from 1 week ago (directly below yours).

  • LMAOO at the song!!!!! how much would it cost for you to make and ship one of these things to Los Angeles California ?

  • Shipping costs are prohibitive. Your best bet is to find a local school shop or local handyman, they could cut everything out for you for a reasonable price!

  • I have the acoustic foam, but not the table saw to build this. How much to buy the assembly from you? All you have to do is ship it in a big enough box with peanut or airbag protection.

  • I just wanna know...WHEN will Behringer do a filter for 15 quid !?! :D

  • @GranulatedStuff HaHA Good Ol' Behringer

  • how much acoustic foam do i need to buy and do you know of any that is really cheap and will keep this project under $30.

  • @DjMikeyB22 You’ll need four 12 x 12 x 1 inch thick wedge acoustic foam pieces. Send me an email at brodafinjr@optimum.net and I'll give you info on where I bought mine.

  • If you like this project, than take a look at my follow-on video by searching for "Brodafin Portable Vocal Booth" (without the quotes)

  • Mr Brodafin thank you very much!! : ) you made me save money!! i started to make it!! and it's fantastic do the thinks by my self (sorry if the english isn't clear, i'm Italian)

  • @LucaRdj Your English is much better than my Italian! I'm glad it worked out so well for you.

  • Thanx for sharing this , these reflexion filters cost a fortune in Australia . Peace to you and your family

  • @ozzycriss Thanks! Enjoy.

  • Yes you do.

  • on the "outside section", do u you also cut 71/2 and 15 degrees at the ends?

  • Shipping something like this would be pretty difficult. I bet if you could find a local school shop or local handyman, they could cut everything out for you for a reasonable sum!

  • i suck at carpentry i dont have access to the kind of shop u have...how bout u build one for me n we talk a lil business...

  • Finally, I was waiting for someone to build a reflection filter for less than $50 and stil looks good, I was so not wanting to pay $300 for the SE Reflection filter, especially when I know it costs them only like $5 in materials (or probably less) to make one, thanks for the ideas and construction, Im going to attempt to make one of my own, itll probably be a hybrid of what you made plus some features of the real SE Reflection filter, great video bravo

  • Thanks, this is very helpful. I was going to buy one at guitar center for $100.

  • @globalpunk Glad to help! I was going to buy one too...that's what prompted me to design and build "Mini Studio". I actually made two for about the same price as one (since I bought 10 acoustic tiles (better price) and a stock size sheet of rigid insulation).
