Hi all just a quick question....the nappyversary counts from the month you stopped applying relaxer OR the month that you cut off the hair? i had the big chop a week ago but stoped applying relaxer march 2010?
When you start out growing natural hair is not good to keep putting all these chemicals in your hair its best if you leave it alone l=and just let it grow. And DONT NOT WASH YOUR HAIR EVERY WEEK like other women with natural hair do. I have natural hair and i was my hair every 3 weeks but its always healthy to braid every week. :)

short hair looks nice on you. You should consider doing a pixie hair cut where it's short on the sides and longer on the top. It would really complement your features. good luck with your hair. =)
Way to go!... I just did the B.C. too. It took a long for time for me to get up the courage to do it, though. I wear half wigs until my hair grows out a little bit more. I don't like the way I look with short hair. I'm so addicted to long hair, those perms and half wigs with the combs took my hair out. My own hair feels like wires compared to the permed hair. got to find some soften and safe products to help my hair grow.
hahaha i love it when you say you're gonna do it before you change your mind. and of course "I'm not my hair" is a good motto :) i am so sick of hair relaxers, i'm soo gonna get my big chop. i did it about a year ago when it was shorter than yours, but after 3 months of wearing short, curly hair, i relaxed it again (i know, what kind of sick f*ck is able to wear b/c for 3 months and then go back to relaxed hair??) next time i'm gonna let natural grow a little more before getting my bc

Tru, thanks for the video. But please research products that will be nurishing, moisturizing and beneficial to your newly natural hair and scalp. Mink and Caster oils are not nutritional nor beneficial to our natural hair. And check that gel to see if there are any alcohols in it. I'm sure it doesn't have any nutritional or moisture benefits in it. Any product you put on your natural hair should be beneficial to your hair and scalp and not just for styling.

the worst thing u can put in a natural is prostyle... u now have natural hair u should get products that say.. mosture, including gel.. TRUST ME.. prostyle has contains to much, protein... hope that helps u try jada pinket hair products.. google it.. good luck girl!

I went to a salon/barber shop. There were barbers in there , but there were women who did relaxers and hair styles and stuff like that. The best advice I can give in reference to this is to go somewhere where you're comfortable. Ask if its something they can do. Good Luck!!

Be careful of that Castor Oil treatment bc you said theres no water, and water is good for natural hair.
Also, theres petroleum in that particular product, thats not good for natural hair. but you look great!

I went to a salon/barber shop. There were barbers in there , but there were women who did relaxers and hair styles and stuff like that. The best advice I can give in reference to this is to go somewhere where you're comfortable. Ask if its something they can do. Good Luck!!

I love this. I decided to go natural the day i relaxed it. (3 weeks ago) Too bad too because I had 2 months of gowth. Anyway you are way more beautiful afterwards and thanks for posting and giving me strength!!
