  • "how long daddy", that'd put me off lol

  • I want a rack like that in my garage! oh, and did someone actually say "only 50kg unless he's counting the bar too"??? Who doesn't the bar???

  • love the last rep, man...the moment of truth! GRAAAHHHHHH!!!

  • Watched some of your newer vids. Impressive stuff, keep it up!

  • Haha I knew this must be filmed in the UK with the rack built out of old scaff! Go on!

  • @mankillsquare yea, its that heavy scaff too ... not the fancy shit they use nowerdays ... this vid is 4 or 5 years old but it gets more views than any of my others !!!?

  • Good exercise, I love doing them. I feel so powerful after my 4 sets of it and shoulders bulging with blood. Nice bad ass music to motivate you. :>)

  • lookin swole brah

  • 25kg plates?

  • @6reevesy9 yeah thats what i thought, i have the same looking plates at home and im sure there the 25kg plates, wich would only make that 50kg...unless he's counting the bar too

  • dont let it touch your chest, its bad for your shoulders

  • @AcrazyG thats the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard !! look at your olympic lifters ...holding the bar to the chest is one of the first things you should learn ... not touching the chest will just promote poor flexibility , next you will be saying dont squat too deep !!

  • it actually is called a military press, page 62 of this months musclemag...there ya go all you wanna be muscle heads..maybe you should workout more with the big dogs so you know what lifts are what..its a great workout for your shoulders..nice lift!!

  • You should try behind the neck presses. Less strain on your back.

  • is it easier to sit or stand?

  • It is easier to cheat when standing, generally I have noticed its harder sitting, and I can't do as much weight sitting either.

  • when u sit u dont use ur legs at all to help so its all shoulders...the real way to do it.

  • good job mate

  • Whatever that kid asked woulda just pissed me off haha,

  • Hahaha

Well done with the home made power rack,

Sure as hell beats spending 1 grand

  • I'm impressed by the home made power rack

  • The Proof that you dont need fucking expensive equip to do a nice workout!

    Awesome!

  • Good job man, good position on the chair.

Btw careful with your back. :) This exercise is pretty dangeros. :)

  • Great work! Your form looks great!

    Keep going!

  • YEA!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fuckin love ur homemade rack man

  • fuck na your soooooo hardcore, but idefinately love that squat rack made out of scaffolding, might have to make one myself, r u a builder?

  • There's no such thing as a seated military press, that was a seated overhead press.

  • I have invented it then !!

    its mine !!

    all mine !!

no, you may be right, i just guessed - my shed roof was too low to do standing OH stuff.

  • Haha, to be honest I was just being overly pedantic as usual. Impressive strength btw.

  • Really good form, and what a hardcore looking rack. Only reason I think you were able to get out those last reps was because of the inspirational words of your son at the end.

  • Nah, it was the words of the Chili Peppers that gave him the inspiration.

  • lol at the Canadian. They get good schooling but they still can't think like an average 9 year old.

Man you really should be able to do that more times, it seems like you are pretty big, like 230lbs big. Check out my vids, I do 135lbs X 15 and I only leg drive for like 2 reps.

  • Scaf as a cage, that's a great idea!

  • Is it me or are you over-arching your back?

  • I'm certainly not! Good DAY sir!

  • LOL, most amusing !!

yea, i did over arch a little as i had no backrest

  • nice, ur almost as strong as my sista

  • loser.

  • today i did that 4 sets of 8 standing, but that was very nice form and everything, im sure mine was kinda sloppy, oh and i like the music

  • Don't listen to these negative comments, its too easy for these tools to spout sh1t when they don't have to back it up "I'm 17 and can do 90 kg for 18 reps blah blah"

Your liftings good jonny, keep it up

  • Get yourself a good back supporter, even a folding chair will do, and you'll be able to do much more.

  • Love the rack, you should post a vid of how to make that on here, good form

  • cheers phil, the rack cost about 95 quid in scaffold and couplings - and a couple of angle grinder discs, its much stronger than a cheap powercage though

  • great pump, good size, get ripped and you could compete as a bodybuilder, good luck

  • Great Job jonny. 1 question please, should you not have a seat behind you to support/protect your back?

  • yes, but my shitty bench doesnt sit up that far, a 45 degree inclins is about as far as it goes !!

  • Good Execution, just try to keep head looking straight instead of looking up. It help preserve neck.

  • For some strange reason, I do not believe you. All we all need to do is look at your profile. Simple Task really, then we find out the liars :). Have a nice day!

  • lol luckily i can care less if you believe me, but once i get a better phone i'll be taking video of some of my presses mainly to see if theres anywhere i can improve on in my form

keep believeing whatever you want :D

  • Prove it?

  • Just to add, a 58kg press for 10 reps in strict form would give the jonnywildboar a one rep max of about 170lb, which according to Rippetoe and Kilgore is an advanced level of strength for a 198lb lifter (judging from the video jonny you weigh about this much?)

  • atm i can do 185lbs for 4 reps seated military press.. i weigh 170 lbs.. i now have a new video phone so i will surely get some videos up in the upcoming weeks for all of you doubters :)

btw wat the hell is rippetoe and kilgore lol

  • I assume that's a free barbell and not a Smith Machine? Get the video up.

WHO are Rippetoe and Kilgore you mean. Rippetoe owns Wichita Falls Athletic Club, Dr KIlgore is a physiologist who works with Rippetoe and co-wrote Starting Strength with him.

  • Post some vids of your bench, squat, deadlift and clean while you're at it =D

  • You should be benching about 325, squatting 460, deadlifting 530 and cleaning 300 if you're as strong as you say you are. Those values for a 1RM.

  • my standing 1RM was 220lb's but i never maxed out seated, it was a long time ago ,but thanks for the comments !!

  • nicely done boar

    how tall are you?

  • thx mate - im 5 foot 7

  • sweet form and scaffold rack man, good to see someone just getting on with it

  • @ Adam: standard for his age and weight?! Jeez... Most grown men have trouble pressing that weight ONCE while STANDING. It's easy to sound strong in text, why don't you post a vid of your birth certificate, followed by you pressing 165 and then half your friends follow suit? Sounds like a good idea, right?

@poster: Your form is flawless. Many forget to bend slightly forward when doing freeweight military press. And the weight is rather impressive.

  • One faggot had to take it. And that sadly, was you. Gaylous bitch.

  • I military press 40 kg dumbbells each arm for around 4 reps a set). I managed to press 45 kg dumbbells each arm yesterday for 4 reps a set. I then do stand up pressing on a 50 kg barbell for 8 reps for usually 4 sets. I do side-to-lateral flies with max 15 kg dumbbells (slowly on 12 1/2's then on 15's a bit quicker). I am looking to be able to develop immensely strong shoulders. I am 20 and I guarantee my shoulders will be something different in 10 years.

  • I done want to appear rude, but why did you feel the need to tell me this ?

    Its the gayest spam ever.

  • yeah, work on your diet, you fuckin slob

  • NEWS JUST IN !!

    your a tosser

and i am lean n mean now !!

  • great form and good weight, worry bout your back tho, betta on a seat, you should work on dieting to get cut as :p

  • thanks, im amazed this vid gets so many views - i train elsewhere and i can standup for military press (my shed was too low) Im still a bit of a fatty but looking to slim down a little !!

  • Pretty pitiful i would like to say, as a fifteen-year old who can do 165. Half of my friends can do better. He doesntt even meet average standards for his age or weight.

  • adam, your a prick.

  • well when it comes to competition yeah you don't really stand a chance, but weight has to all do with your own personal goals and determination, so whatever gets the ladies to bed hey works :D

  • wear a belt for support or you will break your back one day. wearing a belt and having something support your back will also give you some extra reps!

  • Not so strong. It's not that much for his bodyweight. But it's good that he goes down to the chest. (He shouldn't hold the breathe tho)

  • well done, you must have a strong shoulder to do this

  • Very good form. Half these ass clowns here on youtube don't know how to do a correct military press.

  • man i just hate people like you, i wish i could knock your damn head off you son of a bitch.

  • lol your pry a pussy moron who could only press the bar, if that. this is a reply to that pussy realgood2nite btw.

  • You little nigga couldnt take the bar of the rack you piece of shit. Its good to see you benching 60kg for 1 or 2 reps bouncing it off ur chest or tensing them things in your arms that u call your biceps, but rly mate everyone is born with bigger HA

  • cage out of scaffolding! why didnt i think of that. thats awesome

  • good pressing!

  • Hey! nice work. did you make your power rack too?

  • cheers, yea i made the powercage from scaffolding - see www.deadlift.co.uk for the beautiful story of the cages birth .......
