As a physically disabled person I find the actions of these TSA idiots to be highly inappropriate and discriminatory. This should not have happened like it did. If they wanted to examine the braces they should have gone to a private area like policy says. I personally would have refused to remove the braces in public and would have demanded the private area if they required their removal. Even this is a pain since most with a mobility issue don't want to lose their mobility even for a second.

I got news for everyone, when I was traveling toOrlandoFL 3 years ago my flight from Minneapolis to Orlando I seen a Jewish Family who happen to be my friends were schedule for a TSA screening 2 boys age 8-13 were screen, 1 daughter 17, the eldest son 19, the mom, the dad were subjected to a room, and stripped down all of them. As for me I was wasn't randomly selected crazy TSA agents I tell you as my friend would say "oy vey!" what i think gave it away too was the "Star or David" necklace

Things must be changing because I went to a major American hub recently on my way to Europe and didn't go though a pat down or screening. Three TSA agents did arrive at our departure gate but they too only gave a very "light" check and only on a few passengers. I will say too that they were very pleasant and non intimidating.

My Dad has a device implanted because of a heart problem,we requested a pat down because he can not go through the machines,it would cause a heart attack.TSA told us he had to go through the machine and that they were all trained in CPR in case he has a heart attack.

One night at the Y (parking lot where kids hang out), he came in (they checked up on us), and drove a girl (sophomore) around in his car, and she had in her hand the hole time, a mixed drink. The same cop later pulled me over and even though "he didn't want to," he gave me a ticket.. Clearly he didn't have to, but to an extent their jobs depend on certain things, and they WILL make sure they meet the requirements set forth by others

make TSA screeners take one semester of constitutional law to learn anout individual rights from the view of passengers as well a a common sense ethics and morals class before dealing with passengers. Use a little probable cuase when deciding if the search needs to be more thorough.. such as a suspiciosly larger than normal jacket that could be stuffed. a 4 year old boys leg braces is inhuman treatment

I got news for everyone, when I was traveling toOrlandoFL 3 years ago my flight from Minneapolis to Orlando I seen a Jewish Family who happen to be my friends were schedule for a TSA screening 2 boys age 8-13 were screen, 1 daughter 17, the eldest son 19, the mom, the dad were subjected to a room, and stripped down all of them. As for me I was wasn't randomly selected crazy TSA agents I tell you as my friend would say "oy vey!" what i think gave it away too was the "Star or David" necklace

Things must be changing because I went to a major American hub recently on my way to Europe and didn't go though a pat down or screening. Three TSA agents did arrive at our departure gate but they too only gave a very "light" check and only on a few passengers. I will say too that they were very pleasant and non intimidating.

My Dad has a device implanted because of a heart problem,we requested a pat down because he can not go through the machines,it would cause a heart attack.TSA told us he had to go through the machine and that they were all trained in CPR in case he has a heart attack.

One night at the Y (parking lot where kids hang out), he came in (they checked up on us), and drove a girl (sophomore) around in his car, and she had in her hand the hole time, a mixed drink. The same cop later pulled me over and even though "he didn't want to," he gave me a ticket.. Clearly he didn't have to, but to an extent their jobs depend on certain things, and they WILL make sure they meet the requirements set forth by others

As for the TSA Agents, the only thing I can think of is that they're worried about getting reprimanded if they don't go by the book, even if it means pulling off stupid shit like this. make TSA screeners take one semester of constitutional law to learn anout individual rights from the view of passengers as well a a common sense ethics and morals class before dealing with passengers. Being robotic doesn't make you a better screener. Use a little probable cuase when deciding if the search needs to be more thorough.. such as a suspiciosly larger than normal jacket that could be stuffed. a 4 year old boys leg braces is inhuman treatment
