  • I had a lot of superscope decks over the years , Man all the ideas I captured with my Guitar.

Sounded better than anything else at the time . I miss the analogue days .

    Good find dude

  • FUCK I pad give me a Superscope!

  • Half speed sounds better than I would have imagined, of course Marantz did build some pretty high quality units back in those days. I am guessing 1973-77 for that unit. I used to have a PMD-200 ( which I saved from a trash pile at the University I went to) and I am trying to remember if that had two speeds as well. I am guessing the C-202LP pre-dates the PMD-200 and appears to maybe even have a Nakamichi transport.

  • Right! the disadvantage to slower speed is a bit less of an audio quality and of course with 4 track machines you only can record on one channel. I remember how disapointed I was when tking a tape home fro school recorded on a 4-track unit and playing on my stero then!

  • Hey Cassette Master! Long time no talk, doestha recorder record on 4 tracks like the NLS ones do? Also, a long time go Super Scope used to have a series of Children's short stories on tape in the mid 80's.

  • @manyvideoinerests This is only 2 track mono.

  • you know where i could get one of these or possibly one like it with the same dial functions??? thank you

  • @chuzz123 It pops up on eBay at times.

  • @CassetteMaster thanks also, do you sell any of these? because im having trouble getting one cheap enough on ebay

  • I have never seen a tape like that with one reel and with loops, I guess its kind of like an 8-track player

  • What does the aux jack do? I've never been able to figure that out.

  • It records from a line level source instead of the mic level. It a line-level was plugged into the Mic jack, it would overdrive and distort.

  • I have one of these. The speed is really fucked up.

  • The speed switch may just need cleaning. It's a nice machine, and if you get it fixed you can have lots of fun.

  • @CassetteMaster Interesting, why then do you think they included the speeds? Do you have any recorders that will do 4 tracks? I have one, and haven't used it in a while, but those machines are generally hard to find.

  • @manyvideoinerests I have one Player for 4-track low-speed tapes, not no recorders for them. They put the low speed on here for long play tapes. I think this speed on cassette should have been standard on all cassette machines switchable along with the regular 1 7/8 IPS. Just imagine all the C-120 tapes becoming C-240 tapes!

  • nice pitch control

  • shit man, cut your nails!

  • --!INFO!--

I put a new head in and adjusted the bias, now the treble is stronger on recording and is better at playing more tapes that before played weak do to the original worn head.

  • What are your thoughts on the recorder?!

  • Dued, please remove the first comment that was posted by "ghostdued" because I didnt wrote it, so please remove it. Awsome recorder by the way.

  • Dude that speed control thing is so cool!!

  • fantastic recording quality. Very very clear recording. and its got loads of features as well. Thats a fantastic recorder. I got a vintage panasonic cassette recorder that records very clear, I should make a video of it. This prooves that AC bias, and vintage equipment was build to a higher standard! :)

  • DEF-IN-ATE-LY! Higher standard. I just yesterday got a Wollensak 5300 reel-to-reel recorder, fixed it up, and it's AWESOME!!

  • Now that sounds like heaven, a wollensak reel to reel :) :)

  • I'll give you 900% profit on your money! You spent a dollar...I'll give you TEN DOLLARS! And, I'll even throw in an exta $10 for shipping. What a deal. This offer is only good 'til November 2009. What do you say?

  • I have a superscope R1220 receiver

  • lol thats better than my CD player!

  • I had a tape like that it was an endless loop but it was wound in a way similar to an 8 track tape and it did play in my walkman b/c it only uses the capstan and pinch roller to move the tape it only held 30 seconds of audio and you couldnt rew or FF it just play and if you wanted to hear something you heard earlier you had to wait for it to come back around

  • CassetteMaster this recorder by looking at it i think it will accept a cassette adaptor like for a cd player you ever tried that? good idea for your next video

  • Man!! That is a nice unit!! It's got a lot of features. You got it for 1 dollar!?!?

  • That's a nice unit you have there. Strut is one of the best songs from Sheena Easton. It sounded good on that unit too. Good find. :)

  • Facinating outgoing cassette tape! I have a couple that behave as an 8-track (endless loop fed from the centre of one reel & back again) but haven't seen one like that with all those guides - cool! (great machine by the way, love the 2-speed option!)

  • Wow, that is a nice, feature packed recorder there! And that answering machine tape is different. I never seen a cassette like that before.

  • That is one nice tape recorder, really nice high quality unit , like the way it records, and the double speed feature. You had a Bargin there! :)

I like to record stuff off the radio 2! like to see if I can record a complete song without the DJ talking over the start or the end, lol :)

  • The station WB101 here is a good station without that and is commercial free!!!
