Hey due i,m getting a baby corn snake soon and i have a tub like that that i baught today just wondering will the heatpad burn the plastic and does it go inside the tub or underneath the tub ?
nope it wont, if the heatmat is fitted to thermostat which they should be (shouldnt use heat mats without). as all my mats are on thermostats you wont have any issue's. Youl find alot even most off keepers and breeders that use tubs to house snakes will use heatmats and tubs together as this is really only way to heat them and offer thermogradient temps :o)
well i finally found one but its 35l will it be alrite for my 5 month old corn snake but soon as it gets set up im gonna do video then soon as my albino corn snake is all done im gonna be getting a 4 month old king snake black and white
erm not really but can i use one of them boxes wich u get in different colours and then put mesh on top and pput it on tite so snake cant get out cause i think them coloured boxes are quite thick
ill av a look but i actually couldnt find i know that sounds retarted but i cant all i cant find is these ones and a 20 gallon tank where i live is a shit load of money like 100 euros wich is like 95 pound
yer i looked but ur tubs are still different like they look thicker but if u think they wont melt then ill give it a go but the tub is a 31l tub and the snake is 5 months wen would i have to get a bigger tub when its like a year old?
i messaged u but no answer so ill ask on here erm ur box look quite thick mine is really really seeethrough and really thin i think it will definetly melt especially at 85 what u think?
only if the snake wont take frozen but thats only my opinion if you want to then up to you. can you message me if have any other questions easier to reply that way thanks :)
depends how big your corn is, you can have a 5month old corn that is 3ft long or just 12inches depends on the growth rate and how much you feeding it but going by my 3month old corn that i produced last year id say medium also then you wont have to buy another 1 for ages when grow out of it.
yh that would be too big, sorry didnt know you were talking about using it for a young corn, ideally you would want a 5l tub, thats what i would use or a 2x1 vivarium
one last thing cause ur probaley gettin annoyed with all these questions lol erm people say when the heat mat gets hot it looses its stickyness and falls offf is that true? and the plastic wont melt?
ok well av a look for one thanks erm one more thing loats of people are sayin the 12 watt will be to hott and may even burn my snake and they said just get the 7 to be safe soo?
cant bum the snake if you use a thermostat and the mat is under the tub, Using the 12watt with a thermostat to control temps you will still get the same amount heat out of it as you would from a 7watt, just means using the higher wattage the heat mat can throw out more heat when it gets cold so it can reach the temps set by you on the thermostat,
yer thats what im gonna do then cable tie it to the box so i can read what temprature it is so once ive dun that do i really have to have a thermostas or not cant i just do what i just said and if its to hot ill double a towle up or somin over the heat pad to stop as much heat commign through or do i have to have a thermostat
but my thermostas just has a cable on it wich i put in the tank and under the substrar and then the heat pad ont he outside of the tank then my thermostas just tells me the fahrenhite and thats it am i supposed to get a thermo wich controlls the heat or will my one be fine
right first thing, Thermometeter = reads temps, Thermostat = controls temps these are essential. put heatmat under the box as your snake can burm its self if in direct contact of the mat, 12 watt will be fine with a thermostat as the stat will control the temps so you can set it to about 85F and the thermometer will tell u wat the temps are digital thermometers are best. also as its colder the higher wattage is best so can give out more heat to get to the set temp :)
but others are sayin 7 lol so i dnt really know and erm how should i do it shall i stick it on and put duck tape round it or just leave it on floor and put box over it?
im using a a 35l tub aswell and i was wonderring whats better for a baby corn snake a 7 watt heat pad or a 12 watt heat pad and i have a digital thermostats aswell so wich would be better ?
im getting a baby corn snake and i ihave a 27 liter tub how long should that last me

henham97 2 years ago
get a 2ft viv i would. what make of tub is it? get bigger tb when snake gets too big for the 31L
7lqjah 2 years ago
yer but seriously its really thin lol just dont want it to melt
henham97 2 years ago
get a different tub then as your corn will need heat, look at my vids about eggs hatching you will see the small tubs i use.
7lqjah 2 years ago
i messaged u but no answer so ill ask on here erm ur box look quite thick mine is really really seeethrough and really thin i think it will definetly melt especially at 85 what u think?
henham97 2 years ago
no will be fine dont worry
7lqjah 2 years ago
ermm i am wondering can i put a heatmat under a tub or will it melt. or shall i put it in the tub with the aspen ontop
evilipod3107 2 years ago
under tub :) all mine are under, snakes shouldnt be abe to become in direct contacted with any heat source
7lqjah 2 years ago
thanks man it wont melt it even with a thermostat?
evilipod3107 2 years ago
thermostat a must anyway lol wont melt if on stat
7lqjah 2 years ago
can i just feed live fuzzies?
henham97 2 years ago
only if the snake wont take frozen but thats only my opinion if you want to then up to you. can you message me if have any other questions easier to reply that way thanks :)
7lqjah 2 years ago
at 5 months old can i feed 2 pinkies or do i have to feed fuzzys cause no pet stores can get frozen fuzzies
henham97 2 years ago
2 pinkies are fine if cant get fuzzy up it to 3 pinkies if he at the size to be put on fuzzies
7lqjah 2 years ago
yer i do i have a moss hide everytime he sheds just wanted to know about humidity thanks anyway
henham97 2 years ago
what humidity level do they need? and what humidity level do they need in shed?
henham97 2 years ago
they dont need humidity really, just a light spray ever so often or give them a moss hide for when in shed,
7lqjah 2 years ago
them exo terra hides come in small mediam and large would i need a small one for my 5 month old corn snake?
henham97 2 years ago

henham97 2 years ago
so then ill have to get the small heat pad wich is 5watts
henham97 2 years ago
yep as less space to heat :)
7lqjah 2 years ago
people are sayin a 35l tub would be to big for a 5 month old corn snake cause it will get stressed is this true
henham97 2 years ago
yh that would be too big, sorry didnt know you were talking about using it for a young corn, ideally you would want a 5l tub, thats what i would use or a 2x1 vivarium

henham97 2 years ago
i assume your talking about the duck tap? yh it will, dont need tape just place the tub directly on top of the heat pad. To sum it up:
1. heat mat 12watt on thermostat to reach the temps you want it. 82-85F
2. place tub on the heat mat/pad, heat pad shouldnt be no longer than half of the tub. .
3. Thermometer probe in the tub directly above where the middle of heat pad is.
Place thermostat probe there as well.
Dont mind questions but most use private message lol
7lqjah 2 years ago
shall i duck tape it to the bottom of the tub?
henham97 2 years ago
na no need as long the mat is under the tub not in it then should be fine, i dont tape any of mine.
7lqjah 2 years ago
ok well av a look for one thanks erm one more thing loats of people are sayin the 12 watt will be to hott and may even burn my snake and they said just get the 7 to be safe soo?

there needed mate, heatmats can reach over 100F sometimes better be safe than sorry,
7lqjah 2 years ago
