@chickenwretch ...and maybe Emerson Lake and Palmer, Robin Trower, Cream, JimiHendrix Experience, Nirvana, James Gang...think I'm showing my age, any newer groups comparable?
i saw him playing in an obscure italian folk project and he puts so much talent, energy, and honest belief in what he does that can make any music-lover eyes water
This is just stunning: pure intelligence transformed into music. As Ian McDonald said, The Police are the las great improvisatory English band. Here, Sting seems to be ill (Stewart looks concerned at him at 2:36) and his voice is going, but the bass just amazes. Both Andy and Stu are also splendid, and the song itself is a dictionary of loneliness and pain. Thanx for uploading this marvel, EiDy2.
@Kobeownzu81 He is the shit! He made me want to play the drums when I was a kid. His kit was nothing short of amazing, and he'd hit every last one of those toms and cymbals in every song!
@Kobeownzu81 Sting was the only one who never got that memo, unfortunately. How do you inherit the gift of getting to play with Copeland and then want to play with someone else??
... and again, that improvisation part... absolutely brilliant!!!! Pure class!! And how fantastic does that snare drum sounds! Those 3 guys are giving a masterclass what improvisation and skill are all about.
@Auntkekebaby Agree 100%. My favourite Police song done at the peak of their power. It was nice to hear it on the reunion tour, but then for some reason they dropped it from the set.
THE BEST!

notice sting is playing a fretless bass, not one bad note hit by this genius player.

@HealingVibrations Absolutely - to play a fretless with that kind of intonation while singing... you must know the neck by heart
