I will be an air force pilot! I got the grades, already talked to some air force guys at my school. I'm really looking forward to getting accepted in to the academy, it would be a dream come true! Almost had a 4.0 but stupid spanish haha I got a b+ and i'm mexican! LOL USAF BEST IN THE WORLD
@andrewsdope Have you done all the stuff to get accepted yet. Make sure you do it early because my friend waited untill the last second and sent her stuff on a fax machine and they never got it so she couldn't go. :Your supposed to start your junior year.
@AzonaCATS10 yeah i starting this year. im going to be a junior and once the school year starts im going to talk to the recruiters again. I also need to call up my congressman and begin to talk with him about the letter of recommendation.

I'm involved in a lot of ap and honors classes, im on the board improvement advisory comity for my city, im going out for the swim team, and im in speech and debate and a few clubs which to community service and what not. haha not big enough for football or anything :) i don't want to get hurt lol
@andrewsdope Lol yah I didnt play football either even though I was going to be quarterback. I just didn't enjoy the sport but I loved basketball and baseball. My close friend got into west point and he only played football, he helped out on baseball but he didnt play. You should be good with all that you have going on. Hopefully me and you both will be flying one day.
this suckssss...think about it...if the old pilots don't retire their gonna be taking up space for newer pilots that wanna fly...lowering the amount of people that can get in...it will be more competitive and harder for newer pilots.

So it's not as competitive as it sounds. If being a pilot fits your skill set, you will be a pilot. There is always a need.

That's very true, but in order to be a fighter pilot you must be an officer with a college degree. Correct me if I'm wrong,maybe that is just the requirement for fighters. I'm not sure on all pilots. (I'm a USAF brat<3)
Officers have a college degree. I know all pilots have at least a bachelors degree, and often in a science or technical field, such as engineering, chemistry etc. and also with a pretty high GPA, like 3.4+.

@LateNightCable I have to disagree, getting a pilot slot is very competitive. And even if you get a pilot slot the pilot school is extremely hard, It has a high drop out rate. That is why I am doing Pro. Aviation to know as much about aviation as I can before I got to pilot school.
Back then the Air Force was losing pilots like mad to the airlines, that's why they were offering pilots bonuses to remain in the military. If i had accomplished my goal of becoming an Air Force pilot i probably would accepted the bonus and remained in the military due to the downturn of the airline industry.
and without backshop maintainers, crew chiefs can't get parts from supply, and without a medical group our health would be in danger.. etc.. etc.. Bases are wrapped around these planes, and we need the entire system working smoothly.
yeah lets get these guys more cash....hey loyd why dont you politic to get the crew chiefs some more cash.....without them who will get those planes off the ground.....pilots i think not

It already is incredibly competitive. Only 4% of the USAF are pilots.
Don't forget this video is about the Air Force. The Navy has good jets and the Army and Marines have a few aircraft as well. Don't be discouraged.

If i had accomplished my goal of becoming an Air Force pilot i probably would accepted the bonus and remained in the military due to the downturn of the airline industry.
