Not to start up a rivalry on the page but why do muscle car ppl bash ricers. Mitsubishi motors have produced cars that stock make it to sixty in four seconds. On the other hand muscle cars have always been this fast but this kind competition its only cool when ppl don't take it too far. Like goofy vs regular skaters. I love the competition out in tennessee, I'm personally from long beach though, thats where this guy's ignition started. 1997 eclipse gs spyder.

He is talking about racing in the 50's and early 60's. National records then were in the 15's to 13's for street driven type cars. Top Fuel only went 9's and Funny Cars didn't even exist then.

ethel's right. Most cars now a days on the street are poseur, wanna-be tiny-engine Japanese cars and very few have decent power output figures. Then you hear stories about Ronald Lyles' (of the Mutt Bros.) '68 Hemi S/S Dart racing 'Super John' McFadden's '69 ZL-1 Camaro on the street back in '68, both 700-hp, and you realize when the truly fastest street races occurred. Most of today's street races are nothing but wreckless, unorganized attention-attracting parties.
