I really like this live version.

It shows how he is still capable of singing his older songs really well from the seventies, even though his voice is much deeper, and more mature. I think the 2002-2004 era of David's touring is my favorite by a long shot compared to any others, even though I really like the Thin White Duke era, also.

Elvis' music was monotone. All very much the same. He got away with it in the 50's because it was new. In the 60's he gave way to more diverse musical acts. By the 70's he was a washed up fat actor who had to do christmas albums and gospel just to make money cause nobody wanted to hear his shit anymore.

Any sort of extended note projected by voice is not an accent. It is a tone and therefor can't be referred to as an accent. Its simply a note produced by an instrument. Saying that uk artists sing in an "american accent" is like saying that you could tell the difference between an american or british person playing a saxophone.
