  • my hero!

  • Four people were blinded by David Bowie's sexiness and accidentally hit the dislike button.

  • @CheetahLuver12

    Fuckin luv that xD

  • @MrsJones57 GREAT YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS, SOMETHING VERY APPLICABLE FOR YOU.

  • I really like this live version.

It shows how he is still capable of singing his older songs really well from the seventies, even though his voice is much deeper, and more mature. I think the 2002-2004 era of David's touring is my favorite by a long shot compared to any others, even though I really like the Thin White Duke era, also.

    Long live DB!!! <3

  • Incredible talent. One of his greatest songs, and he just keeps on going. Thanks for the post and thankyou David.

  • @ AthosJosue...do you have to be gay to like Bowie? I hope not. He's got more talent than half of the ass bags out there today. Viva La Bowie!!!

  • Great bass playing by Gail Ann Dorsey. Bowie's singing very well too, and I love the way he often forgets the lyrics - it all adds to a wonderful sense of authenticity and spontaneity. Look out all you rock and rollers!!! Such a classic.

  • Happy birthday, dear David! Be always healthy and happy! You the best for ever!

  • He's a GOD!

  • I quoted this song on my Senior Yearbook page.

  • Where are you David? We miss you so much ! Love from Brazil...

  • Where can the songs of Bowie write in german?????Wer kann die Lieder von Bowie in Deutsch übersetzen??????

  • CChhhhaaaangessssss.........good one...current....time stands stilll.....this is a pretty good one.......

  • love it. he makes all these old songs new every time he sings them ♥

  • @79bowiegirl so true!!!! everytime is different and with different emotions!!!!

  • guru:)

  • c-c-c-combo breaker

  • @wastedproperty I am happy to argue opinions until some douchebag insists on pointing out what he does in his life and how much more involved it is than what i do. I dont really care what he does in his life. This was about my opinions versus his. It's obvious that his opinions are put together with piss pore knowledge of the subject. He wanted to talk shit, he will have shit shoveled back at him.

  • @wastedproperty Yes you do REALLY have an accent when you sing, it's preposterous to claim otherwise. Not perhaps easily identifiable, but an accent is vital when singing; for goodness sake, tones are obviously there; but accents and pronunciations are also there. I don't want t o talk to you any more. You're silly.

  • There is an abundance of talent on both sides of the ocean, but yes British got it going on

  • דיוויד בואי מדהים!!!

  • Excellent song, expertly performed by a very, very talented guy who

breaks all barriers. And BTW, he's also got great taste in women.

  • Thank god he doesn't age, i don't want him to die in my life time

  • @patrickcarroll123 You're quite right. He hasn't aged more than

a month in almost 40 years. I don't know how the hell he does it.

  • HEY stop arguing through the comments on a David Bowie video.

anyway, David Bowie is immortal and awesome in a way like no other.

  • elvis presley was a 1 trick pony, why do all his songs sound the same!!! and FYI americans only helped in war due 2 superior force of numbers. U only hear americans commiting so-called friendly fire. they r shit tactitians, elvis presley couldn't wipe the BEATLES arse. the world will never see the like of LENNON/MCCARTNEY again.

  • @kayzi17 you know that elvis was one of the beatles biggest influences.. so much so that they went to his house to meet him?

  • @bddb9 oooh is that supposed 2 impress me!!! the beatles were still far superior in musical talent. ask anybody of any generation. my 11 year old luvs em but yet she never heard of elvis. how strange lmao

  • @kayzi17 i love the beatles too and ya i like them better than elvis but he is one of the primary reasons that the beatles even exist so he does deserve a lot of respect.. he wasnt dubbed "the king" for no reason

  • @bddb9 The beatles were influenced by ALL the american rock n roll of the 50's. Not to mention the fact that every artist, musician, novelist or actor of any substantial fame also went to graceland to meet elvis. Regurgitating half truths about things that everyone in the world knows does not make you appear smart. So to answer your question ... Yes we know. And more than you obviously. Go watch some more rock n roll jeopardy or whatever vh1 crap you were watching when you heard that.

  • @ariexmae ya because vh1 shows pieces on classic rock right? i hate that channel... and i wasn't trying to appear smart. i was just saying that they were really huge elvis fans and were influenced heavily by him.. they even said so on Anthology.. ya everyone did go to graceland to visit elvis.. for good reason.. He was one of the most influential and best musicians ever.

  • @bddb9 uhhh ya vh1 does do lots on classic rock. constantly actually. although the beatles and elvis arent classic rock. they are rock n roll.

Elvis' music was monotone. All very much the same. He got away with it in the 50's because it was new. In the 60's he gave way to more diverse musical acts. By the 70's he was a washed up fat actor who had to do christmas albums and gospel just to make money cause nobody wanted to hear his shit anymore.

  • @ariexmae ya.. and what have you done with your life that makes elvis so inferior? oh thats right.. you audit youtube videos.. and ya im on here also. but thats only when i'm not practicing for cross country or track and not working with my band.

  • @bddb9 Everyone audits youtube videos. Wow a jock and a musician in one. That's hot. Like a little ball of douchebag all rolled up into a little poser package deal. glad you told me what you do in your spare time i was dying to know. I dont do anything all actually. Auditing youtube videos is a pretty lucrative business.

  • he gets better looking and sounds better the older he gets

  • I'm the third Tuomy woman to post a video tonight.

This one goes out to the new grads and all those starting summer vacation!

  • He still rocks! Bowie is a legend

  • @RaikenXion he will be rocking even after he dies! one of the best!

  • He sounds just as good live... :D

  • Australia/new Zealand has some pretty awesome singers too. A shame that many of them are not known outside our countries. btw David Bowie is shit hot!!!!

  • @Rozsanti: you know what's more awesome? Kiwi singer/guitarists that do a good David Bowie impersonation. In spaaaaace!!!

  • Another great one.

  • the exchange of music between north america and the UK is so good. As much as the brits want to distance themselves from N. America, we all make some good music. And really for such a small island, you guys cannot take Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Led Zepplin etc., away from americans. We still play that stuff on the radio.

  • THANK YOU this is just great great GREAT!!!

  • BOWIE EFFEN ROOLES!

  • Mr Bowie has not changed.

    P.

  • OMG this is too fabulous for words! Nobody can ever do it better!

  • If you were to define the word artist by two words those would be David Bowie.

  • just stunning -over the last year or so I must have watched this almost 50x - thanks so much

  • i wish i now the number to send a request

  • lawl, that bassist girl is friggin awesome

  • The Best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID BOWIE!!

    love ya..

  • when was it

  • *Sigh* David... Why must he be, like, fifty years older than me? *Tear*

  • at the 8.1.2010 i wish david all the best

  • good song =D

  • Shame he turned down glastonbury

  • a pretty rocking performance

  • this song and Satellite of Love by Lou Reed may be the two greatest songs ever written

  • Comment removed

  • perhaps the best tune ever written

  • ''....& these children that you spit on , as they try to Change their worlds, their amune to your consultation, they're qiute aware of what they're going through....''

  • David Bowie is such a positive person.

  • ''their quite aware'' .

  • x) Cha cha change... i'm not gay, but luv david bowie, ironic xD.

  • I can relate to this comment.

  • Comment removed

  • @AthosJosue lol, I'd be gay for David Bowie

  • @mikekimikekimike ja ja ja you'd be gay. I'd be major Tom.

  • @mikekimikekimike Goddigger with no life??? No David is a human.

  • I can change Time ??????????????

  • cha cha change .

    I can't change time ?

  • A master of music!

  • david is god

  • This is the best Bowie band I think? Well maybe not, I loved Carlos Alomar, Robert Fripp, Eno on Heros, Low etc.

  • I think this one is the best, thoughr Jerry Leonard (Reality Tour) is a better guitarplayer then Mark Plati.

  • My favourite Bowie band is of course Spiders from Marss! Bowie and Ronson made magic together.

  • That pianist is fantasitc

  • i have ( and im 11) and HELLO david bowie HEz AWESOME :) ( not to be mean though but still...u should watch labyrith and u might c wat i mean ;) )

  • Why all the thumbs down? I was talking about the pianist...

  • what album is it on??

  • it's from Hunky Dory - well worth getting. check out Pretty Things. This live version is interesting but probably played a bit too fast - still great - but not as poigniant as the original version.

  • Yeah, I agree, also check out Queen Bitch that's a great song.

  • life on mars is also on Hunky Dory, another classic song. Kooks and Andy Warhol are also great Bowie songs. Brilliant Bowie album

  • what when was this....love how the band plays this the guitar background vocals

  • f......ing brilliant!!!

  • 1 of the best tunes ever .....

    piano = brilliant

  • why are all of the best singers brittish... i was born with wrong accent =(

  • too right

  • me to

    DAMN = ]

  • if you have an american accent that is good for like some punk... Sum41 blink 182 etc

  • Tto be honest though, the british accent changes, when you go to different places, the accent you'd want is a cockney accent really. :)

  • @mastersam93 because Britain has always been "the best" in one way or another and is usually "first" and then America copy or rip it off. a bit like our empire was the biggest and most powerful in history... lol sorry for the lecture.

  • @pickyantivirus right, like you guys invented rock and roll, LOL.

  • @uclajd we did thanks asshole, now go and copy something else we made and blame every thing on us, oh too late you already are. fucking yankie cunts, i cannot wait until u piss off a real super power.

  • @pickyantivirus you'd be goosestepping to German techno if it weren't for us saving you, you foul-mouthed, unappreciative little Brit.

When Bill Haley and Elvis and Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry were inventing rock and roll in America in the 1950's, the Beatles were still in middle school.

  • @uclajd stop talking shit, you jointed the war very very late, by the time your joined Russia had fough hard enough to save their land and get very close to hitlers bunker, america played no part in the fall of hitler, we would be speaking english even if germany won as plans showed he would have left us alone as he respected one of our saints, also we would have won anyway, remember we had the most powerful empire, so made alot of allies in the process. now piss of and learn history you yank.

  • @pickyantivirus AMERICANS invented rock, idiot. Rock evolved from folk and country, both American inventions. All of the first rock singers were AMERICAN. Also, we didn't join the war late, asshole. WWII started in 1939, we joined in 1941, it didn't end until 1945. When we joined, Russia was still on Germany's side. Americans were the ones who cornered Hitler's bunker. Americans did a helluva lot more than the Brits. He would have left you alone? Right, that's why he was bombing you every night.

  • @cbrez13 but 90% of rock sucked until the british turned rock into this beautiful thing.

  • @cbrez13 truly, folk has existed for centuries, since the medieval times, so it's an european creation, and yes we did enter late, because we were attacked, if we were'nt, i bet we wouldn't even do anything, and actually, the U.K. took the influence of early american rock and roll and made it better than before, how many bands from the U.S.A is big in rock and roll? Aerosmith... Boston... Guns and Roses... The Doors... that's it.

  • Yeah Elvis invented rock in roll

    ignorant white American pig

  • @mastersam93 tell that to Sinatra mate! :-) Loadsa uk artists sing in an american accent bud!

  • @tammas2000 That is because the well trained projection of sound from vocal chords and through mouth ways, very rarely involves the same pronunciation of spoken word. Any sort of extended note projected by voice is not an accent. It is a tone and therefor can't be referred to as an accent. Its simply a note produced by an instrument. Saying that uk artists sing in an "american accent" is like saying that you could tell the difference between an american or british person playing a saxophone.

  • @ariexmae Tell that to Paolo Nuttini or the Proclaimers! However, kudos for a well-worded (if completely silly) response.

I'm Scottish; I know we slur the words as yanks do. You may be getting mixed up with opera?

Either way, you're a dafty; no offense.

  • wow...this is unbelievable. it really shows how great bowie's voice is

  • thanks a lot for this very good videos, the best in the rock era. VIVA BOWIE!!!!

  • This is the most beautiful version! His vocals are stunning!

  • this song is so awesome. (:

  • i'll translate it for you...

  • ohhhhh!

  • The only part tha i understood of that were the last two words, and i couldn't agree more.

  • Did Bowie really write this song or is it a cover? Again thanks for posting this!!!!

  • he wrote it my dear

  • Bakc in the very early 70's.

  • What can you say about David that has never been said. I will suffice it to say perfect always. Does this bugger ever age I am younger than him and look older darn him. lol Davis is timeless great song thanks for posting!

  • Elvis is The King, no doubt!! But man, whaT can you say here???...

  • God of Sound

  • to all new bowie fans - for a dose of his superior acting ability see his movie "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence." One of the best perfomances on film by anyone......ever.

  • I think most people would disagree with you.

  • after having seen labirytnh - im inclined to agree with you lol

  • I think I've seen a different movie then... Because the one that I've seen sucked! But it was not Bowie's fault. Labyrinth is better, The Hunger, Basquiat, The man who fell to earth too, and...

  • i'm only 11,but david bowie is my favourite singer of all time! i wish i could see him live, even though he's in his early 60's now he is still in every way fantastic. LONG LIVE BOWIE!

  • Bowie still does worldwide tours every couple of years, and I do NOT think we've seen the last of his live shows. He's great........

  • no,obviously we haven't seen the last. why would such a music god resign now?

    :D

  • he's in germany working on a new album that is scheduled to come out in early 2010. there will be a world tour to support it.

  • are you sure?! where did you hear about it? i am so excited! i'm only 14 but am totally in love with him and his music. despite his age, he can totally top any crap artist out there now. my idiotic friends can have theit jonas brothers, but i have my Bowie!

  • On sirius radio, channel 22 First Wave a couple of weeks ago.

  • No, he is not. This was just a rumour based solely on a posting on twitter by a person who claimed to be Bowie. It has been officially denounced. Sadly so.

  • No, you are wrong. Check out the trades as well. He is in Germany working on a new LP.

  • I wish you were right, but it was denied on David Bowie's official web site. It has also been denied by fans on independent fan sites. Seems very strange if you are right. What is the trades by the way?

  • 13 and in love with him <3

  • The definitive Bowie song!

  • wonder what happened to ziggy and his spidez??

  • ziggy sucked up into his mind apparently

  • that is the best reply ever.

  • fantastic
