Nice. Cant believe it just let you film it while it fucked that rabbit up. Pretty sweet. I dont know why but I kinda like to see fluffy animals get demolished by predators. If you havent seen it, make sure you search for the video of a boa constrictor swallowing a little baby chicken alive. Its awesome.

Great footage! I can't believe these mouse eating birds can take out a rabbit. I've been bitten, and kicked by them so I would know. Also, they're sooo fast! I love raptors. I can't believe the ignorance of criticism against such an act. Your teacher should be reprimanded for scaring the bird off. Raptors are protected by law because of such radical actions all based on ignorance.

wow!! You were so lucky!! I'm a falconer (I don't really hunt, I just do displays with birds) but still this is something reaally cool to see just like that!!! Here it's not very common to see wild birds hunting, only if they're falconry birds... Thumbs up for you and for your great moment of nature! :)

I've always liked watching birds of prey thanks for the video, and as for "17smirnoff" that's call the circle of life, maybe you should buy some hawk food and feed it yourself if you don't want it killing hare's or maybe you should report it to P.E.T.A

Nice wild passage redtail doing what they do...its NOT a falconry bird..no equipment..thats just nature taking its course ..in the wild raptors dont have the luxury of having a falconer to help dispatch a prey item which we do because of ethics and sportsmanship...

Most people will not see this as a match though. Since the haws already got his claws inside the hare. Would have been a bit more interesting if you were to film it on a big field, where you can see the hawk targeting the hare ^^

This has absolutely nothing to do with falconry. You have an obligation to dispatch any quarry as quickly and as painlessly as possible.

It's this kind of rubbish that'll get the sport banned.

It's more of a vidio of watching a rabbit trying to break free while having claws sunk into it's skin..not actually the chase. This has nothing to do with falconry. I'm afraid I agree with Keidesthompson on the fact that you really should have put the rabbit out of it's misery.

having a hawk takes alot of preparation. you cant decide to buy a hawk just like that, thay are difficult to keep, unlike cats or dogs. you need to spend alot of time with it so it can gain your trust, and for gods sake DO NOT PLAY with it. he will lash out. harris hawk is a good bveginners bird but a sparrow hawk isnt.

advice helps, but the most important and best way of learning is to find out for yourself.

harris hawk for sure mate, sparrow hawks are very tempermental, male harris'es are faster but not as strong where females are very strong, i have one of each and when my female catches something it never lets go,

DO NOT get a spar... they are tiny and take alot of knowledge an practise to keep at the right flying weight... not to mention how tempremental they can be in relation to thier blood sugar in cold weather... A harris is a better choice, although the females can be fairly agressive and become frustrated easy. Best off starting with a male harris. Not that im biased or anything :)
