Btw vegetarians murder plants , plants are also living beings , Unless you want to get food by eating rocks , its not moraly good but thats the way nature works .
@1xpto vegetarians do not 'murder plants'. when vegetables and fruits are harvested, the plant from which they grow doesn't die, it keeps on producing. learn basic biology.
@1xpto plant are not living beings. They grow from the earth, not from a womb. killing animals is just like killing humans. eating vegetables is simple, you pick them, wash them and then you eat them. eating animals is not, you cut them, torture them, you shave them, you pull out there organs, you cut them up, you fry them or bake them in a pan and then you eat them.
@ZenMaster1992 when my sisters sell there steers in 4H they sit with them usually and cry. But yes, it is the way of life. And it is our way of living so yeah, we need a profit!! A real burger or steak from our steers are delicious!!!!
It's stupid people coming here and saying this is BS when the footage speaks for itself. Factory farms are extremely cruel to the animals, the animal products are also full of processed crap, antibiotics etc and the pollution js very bad for the environment. There are some small farms where animals have not such terrible living conditions but factory farming took over agriculture so this is the way most of these poor helpless animals are treated. We as a species are a plague on this world.
personally i believe in raising your own livestock so you know they've been properly treated but whilst i strongly disagree with the fundamental ideas of vegetarianism, im not going to fight it because it does more good that harm in the end of the day so live and let live
as a beatles fan i respect paul mccartney a lot but i cant help but say that i feel that he, and peta seem to be raising the misconception that all animals are crammed into factory farms and suffer horriffic deaths. whilst i cannot deny that there are such places and a few slaughterhouses dissobey the strict laws i must say that peta delibarately go searching for the worst places and if you went to a hundred slaughterhouses you're bound to find one which is out of step.
This is BS!! I am from a farm and everything depicted in this video is from Factory Farms and large corporate businesses that do not care about anything. Probably not even their own workers. The way small farms raise animals is totally acceptable and may be cruel in small ways but their lives are better than just being. Before you decide if farming/ranching is terrible practice, visit a family farm and see the connection we have with our animals. My father knows each one almost personally.
@DieUScums everything you say is true. Self riteousnes is the most terrible of all emotional states and has done the most harm in human history. The sefl-riteousness of the veggie movement is why I left it. (I still eat veg on many days of the weeks though, but I also know small farmers and they are in touch with the natural world more so than any urban suburanite vegetarian.
This is such a well-made video. They day I first watched it more than a year ago is the day I finally gave up red meat and poultry. Since then I have not eaten beef or pork and have had chicken only twice, and I'm so happy I made that choice. Once I am living on my own I will go vegan. Thank you, Sir Paul! It appalls me how many people sill eat meat while turning a blind eye to this horror, but I have hope for a more humane future. Keep up the good work.
Cows are not for eating for God's sake! Would you eat your mother who breastfed you? Even if we all don't go vegetarian, can we at least slaughter in a HUMANE manner please! God gave us enough on the planet to survive, lets not be greedy!!!!! We're killing ourselves in the process. Realise that.
i am not bashing animal rights they do need protected like dog fighting or bull fighting is wrong but animal rights activists need to give the farmer a break. until the have seen it frist hand
how would animal rights ppl deal with the release of 100 billion animals turned free. There would be no room for vegatables to grow for all the grazing livestock. human starvation would be inevitable. I see alot of blame on farmers for they way animals are treated but if you took a dairy cow off the farm she wood be dead in 3 days from mastituss if she was not milked out and NO farmer would hurt his/her source of income it doesn't make sense.
@brucejohn123 I think the transition to vegetarianism would be over time, and over time fewer animals would be bred. It wouldn't be a case of billions of animals suddenly going free. Also, no one will neglect to milk a cow because it's not in their economic interest. However, if the demand for milk decreases enough, farmers/industries will breed fewer cows.
In my opinion it is just a conformist crap. You pretend that by not eating meat you protect animals from suffering, but you forget your brothers and sisters - other human beings that are also suffering greatly from disease, hunger, war etc. Every minute of your existence on this planet brings suffering to both humans and animals. The biggest threat for the nature is our society. But we need it for we wouldn't be able to progress. Our existence is on the equilibrium of destruction and creation.
@akamaras You talk like a dogmatic Islamist. It's not about what we can't do, it's about what we can, individually, to make it a better place for everyone.
And who told you that humans don't care for other (suffering) humans?
And for your kind info vegetarians are naturally against unjustified wars, pollution of environment, bullying & general insensitivity. These are traits of meat eaters like you.
@seasonedsevencolors Dear Alex, I appreciate your answer. The problem is, I believe, that people in India are abandoning vegetarianism at faster rates that western people are adopting it, thus no net change and no reduction of suffering for domestic animals. I agree that all "green" ideas sounds very tempting and I would be glad if they ever be introduced. The problem is, that all the tempting ideas might be just as hypocritical as these western "crusades" for democracy.
@seasonedsevencolors Furthermore, if you belong to conformist society it does not matter whether you are for or against any ideas. It is just a belief, that your thoughts are important and - again - hypocrisy. You cannot cover all the problems with one mind. If you will try to prevent suffering of animals you will eventually forget suffering of humans. I am not good in economy, but I think the demand for meat is only increasing. I was vegetarian for quite a few years, but it was too expansive.
@seasonedsevencolors My last note - if you want to really make some change - instead of writing comments on Youtube and pointlessly trying to persuade some people to change their opinion (because everybody cherishes his personal opinion the most), just make a small step out of conformist society - get some seedlings, dig a hole in your yard and plant a tree. And take care of it while it is growing.
I am a conformist bastard so I am just waiting for my death.
@akamaras Just because someone is a vegetarian does not mean they neglect other issues, including human suffering. That's an absurd claim. Besides, vegetarianism is a choice you make in the grocery store, not a huge time or money commitment that detracts from one's ability to help humans. It almost sounds like you're saying, "you /have/ to eat meat in order to help your fellow human!"
Human beings eat meat since we lived in caves. Animals eat meat too. The cruelty and the supercrowded animal shaks are caused by a growing human population. If u realy want to help the animals, dont have kids.
@joaoboscoli Population is no doubt a factor, but to be realistic, the cruelty of factory farms is driven by profit. They will do anything they can to save money. It saves space to cram animals together; saves wages to pay workers next to nothing and not supervise them, and saves money to not invest in methods of proper pre-slaughter stunning, veterinary care, or other means of care and humane treatment. This isn't about it being right or wrong to eat meat; it's about supporting cruelty.
@MrJollygolly Stick with it, don't let your parents or anyone else stop you from being a vegetarian. And if it was just because of Paul that doesn't matter, and that's why he did this video anyway so those who say that to you are ignorant. You're doing the right thing for animals who cannot speak for themselves or defend themselves. God Bless You.
coming from someone who owns a dairy farm, my cows are treated very nice, free range, and have never been sick to this day. i make milk for the town (those who buy it) and the cows head to the barn once every other day ON THEIR OWN. all dairy farms arent like this. i also do not kill for beef.
@ACDCwarmachine And your work is much appreciated not only by us who are concerned but I'm sure the animals too. But most everyone buys their dairy and meat and eggs from the big companies that are responsible for the abuse in the video. If people stop their need for meat and possibly also for dairy, these horrible actions by big companies could stop. People's need for animal protein is almost like a drug which results in need for mass & quick production which results in insensitivity & abuse.
My mouth waters as I watch.
