I guess if your gonna do something...anything, give it everything you have or dont even bother....Im real glad Randy bothered, You know in Jimis songs there be tiny pieces incidental notes and squeals..stuff that came out in the studio accidentally..but now are essential to the Hendrix listening experience..like here comes the part in the solo when the guitar goes....R.Hansen somehow get all of them! Thank you for putting in the time, and caring for our ears Randy. Peace
Frank Marino is good, but this guy is the ultimate. No one gets close to Hendrix' tone like this guy does. Does the vocals pretty convincingly as well. He's a huge talent.
Randy certainly has got that hendrix essence, plus his own feel .I think that's what makes him different from all the other imitators out there .I can actually lay back with headphones on and listen to Randy like I was listening to all the nuances of of a Hendrix track.
Damn Randy! Awesome, Dude! I have never heard someone so close to Jimi. Your voice sounds just like him. No offence, but no one can do his guitar quite so, but damn! you SOUND just like him! Thank You!! We need another Jimi- please keep on.......
I saw Randy six times in the 80's and Mahogany Rush once. I loved them both but if someone gave me a choice of tickets I would pick Randy everytime, he is so f---ing awesome on stage and loves playing, loves partying and BSing with the audience after his shows. All rock guitarist be it small time or big time know Randy Hansen. Keep kicking butt Randy. Thanks for the great shows and the good times!!!!
@jdefilippo001 Since Randy lives up here in Bothel, I get to see him all the time... Frank hasn't played up here in Washington St. in forever! I'd rather see Mahogany Rush- only cause it's been sooo long .
Are your talking about Roger's party last with Randy and everybody at the Columbia Theater? What a show!!!! So much talent on one stage. That is one night I'll never forget. Thanks for the comment.
Oh yeah, that's the show. I got some great footage front stage for the last few songs with Lynn singing. I'll let you know when I post them after I get the audio files from Rog. That show will go down as a legendary Seattle show in local rock history.
I respectfully dissagree with you that no one plays Jimi's music better. Frank is no doubt a fantastic guitar player, however, in my opinion Randy plays Jimi's music more from the heart with love for Jimi's music and style than Frank. Of course that is just my opinion and I am by no means an expert, but I just want to get my two cents in. Thanks for your comment. You are welcome to stop back by anytime.
After reading your reply to my comment I agree x1000! Wow, I never thought about that in that context. Yes, agreed however, as far as technically, Frank is a much more proficient player! But, my wise friend I will take love for Jimi and his music any day over technical prowess! ;o) I am humbled! Thank you! A very profound 2 cents Gary, indeed! ;o)

I saw this guy in Renton Washington and couldn't believe it wasn't Jimi Hendrix. Watching him took me back to Woodstock and seeing Jimi live.

Damn...you got to see JH at Woodstock? And you actually remember it? LOL My Mom wouldn't let me go. I was 15 at the time and still living at home.
Can't believe Randy isn't filling stadiums.
Thanks for the vid Gary. I grew up on JH and this guy is the closest we've had since Jimis death. Appreciate you sharing.

So great! But I wish they would have used a nice Reverb instead of delay on his vocals.

It's great to see Randy perform again. We hung out in 'Frisco back in the '80s ...great times...great jams. Whatever happened to FX?
