  • I could listen to Lou Donaldson all day..this is jazz ...

  • BrunoLeichtPadophile,

Because you posted some of my videos the comment that is unrelated to the song repeatedly, I deleted it and also blocked your account.

  • @petopalaj yes

  • All of Art's live dates are indispensable. There's also "At the Jazz Corner of the World" and "At the Cafe Bohemia" and "Meet You at the Jazz Corner of the World." No Clifford, but not much lost with Lee Morgan or Kenny Dorham plus the most soulful, lyrical, melodic player of all--Hank Mobley. (Lou Donaldson is the main weakness on this set with Clifford.)

  • Pee Wee!!!!!

  • Cooking from start to finish....Stellar all the way!!

  • This whole album is awesome!

  • star trek theme?!?!?!

  • mc reminds me of gary coleman

  • @petopalaj Yeah therese are definitely the changes from There Will Never Be Another You. It's funny, one day I was listening to Joe Pass's rendition of There Will Never Be Another You on my iPod and on a whim I put this on CD right after, Split Kick being the first song.

  • I will never get enough of this Power Play

  • Clifford Brown, Lou Donaldson and Horace Silver - 3 youngsters who were about to set the jazz world on its ass!!!! Of course, big papa Lou was 27(?) at this point...

  • @petopalaj

These indeed are the changes to There will never be another you.

  • good call, petopalaj! they are indeed the 'there will never..." changes. Eb.

  • Thanks petopalaj-san!!

    I respect your opinion.

Certainly the chord progression of this tune resembles a standard song "There Will Never Be Another You".

  • @60otaku3 these are the exact changes to there will never be another you

  • I think this is the complete original tune by Horece Silver.

He seems to have composed this in about 1951 when Horace participated in the Stan Getz Quartet.

"How 'bout a big hand there, for Art Blakey, thangyoa~"

  • コメントありがとうございます!

    ブラウニーがとにかく熱いですね。

    ハードバップはこのライブから始まったといっても過言ではないほど有名なアルバムですので、ご興味があれば他の演奏も是非お聴きになってみて下さい。

  • tune :)

  • Horace Silver once told me that his first instrument was the tenor sax and that he wanted to sound like Lester Young, who, by the way ,once referred to Pee Wee Marquette, the midget M.C. on this album, as a "half- motherfu***r."
