First of all, Alicia has a 3.1 octave range like Beyonce. They are both amazing singers. Alicia's range Bb2-B5 live and Beyonce's live range is B2-C#6. The difference is that Alicia Keys is a contralto and Beyonce is a mezzo-soprano, so therefore Beyonce's voice is naturally higher than hers.

But combination-wise, B's >>>. B's strongest areas, IMO, are: technique (using the voice properly; anyone can sing, but not anyone can be a singer), control/clarity, and versatility/range. Singers exceptionally superior in multiple areas of vocality is a rarity. B is the prominent vocalist in our generation.

That's like me asking you why are some AK's fans, or some Ri fans, or obsessed fans of any female so delusional. Beyonce is a mezzo-soprano with a 6 octave range, which is unheard of. She's not overrated as a vocalist, she's underrated actually. You know nothing about vocals. Beyonce is one of the best technical singers in the industry, her control is unmatched, her range is unmatched, and she's never pitchy! Beyonce doesn't have controversy, WTF are you talking about? Singers exceptionally superior in multiple areas of vocality is a rarity. B is the prominent vocalist in our generation.

On Alicia Keys: I love her to death but I have to admit she does kind of sound the same on alot of her songs, which is why when I first heard EMPIRE STATE OF MIND, I had no idea that was her on the chorus. I could hear her adlibbing throughout the song and it made me listen harder trying to figure out if she was on the chorus. I'm sorry but your entire segment on Rihanna was so wrong. When anyone goes through trama they need time to get them selves together and heal on the inside. Now we are talking about some one who can't even go a day with out some one shoving a camera in her face and asking her about it or making her feel guilty for it. It makes the situation harder for her and now she is more comfortable to speak out about it, doesn't mean she has not felt that way before.

As a former police officer who has worked with a lot of abused women she is actually discussing her situation EARLY compared to a lot of other victims. You cannot expect someone who just went through the trauma, embarrassment, confusion, etc. to be a public voice instantaneously. I think actually we should commend ANYONE who decides to take upon the responsibility to speak out on abuse,NO MATTER their reason. You guys are adorable and I understand that you are just ranting but not everyone does!

Let me tell you, provoked or not provoked it is NEVER right to hit anyone. Especially the one you so call "love".
