  • @MrLaBlank

You´re right, wrong calls are inevitalbe, but that´s the way most sports are due, my commitment and goal is always to do my best, I´ve umpires good ball games, but something players must keep in mind is this: Umpires are to call close plays not the easy ones, most of the argumentations are in a close call, I´m not saying wrong calls are not made, but arguing with a close call most of the time is silly, wath Itchiro Suzuki arguing a called third strike. he looked too silly

  • ump needs to get his eyes checked jesus christ

  • "Just a bit outside"

  • At least he was consistent.....

  • @MrLaBlank

That´s exactly the problem, I´m an umpire, they don´t want them to be call-strikes, but when their pitcher is on the mound they do...if the strike zone is the same for both pitchers it´s silly to make any argumentation...I´ve faced this problem...

  • i hate how every ump has there own strike zone. it the width of the plate to your knees and chest.

  • @baseballman639 that is easier said than done, i am an umpire and usually we give batter box to batter box as the strike zone.

  • @player93ify

    Why?

  • @oldaardvark its usually described as the 6 inch rule were we give 6 inches off the plate for pitchers, thats usually were the batter boxes are put...plus it gives the umpand the pitchers a clearer visual, also to speed up the game. but as long as your consistent you most of the time wont get bothered

  • Gotta use those 300 dollar bats! not for looks.

  • at least hes calling them both ways but still it was in the other batters box and an extreme advantage to the pitcher

  • first the worst

  • If the umpire is consistent then thats all you can ask for. tell your batters to adjust to the strike zone and hit that ball the other way, or turn on it

  • Those were on the outside corner.Chill. They were close. The ump was making good calls

  • This ump needs to retire or get new glasses. Period.

  • i hat eit when umpires do this. played a game last weekend, my team got 8 runs in one inning, the umpire wanted the game to hurry up so literally everything was strike, everything. didnt matter if it was above ur head, or outside the OTHER batter's box, he was callin em strikes, he even told us he was gonna call em haha

  • that's embarrassing

  • Through the use of video any call can be made and made more accurately. This video shows this quite well. Video will replace umpires very soon.

  • @max66bhs video will never replace the umpire. your a fucking dick and a moron

  • that first pitch was ridiculous

  • to jeschmit: I have been umpiring baseball for over 20 yrs now and I am thought to have a very generous strike zone but this guy is not just generous, he is ludicrous. Swing the bat? No one makes a bat long enough to hit pitches that far in the other batters box. Not only were these pitches not anywhere near the strike zone, they were not even in the same time zone!

  • @dmeachy one way stretching that irco can prove you wrong on that. swin the damn bat stop bitching play the game. you saw what he calling swing the bat.

  • Last pitch looks like a strike to me? i would have struck him out too.

  • Trust me. Nyc umpires are like this.

  • Just get rid of these blind, old fools and use a machine. It is never wrong, cost less money to maintain and does not talk shit. Umpires a guys who are not good enough to play well but want to be on the field...and feel important. Just replace them and all this will be a thing of the past...Green for strike, Red for ball. Simple.

  • @max66bhs you fail to notice why we need umpires on foul tip and foul balls safe or out. hit by pitch or not. its not just simple switching an umpire with a machine your a douche for thinking this.

  • @critter2 We need umpires to make the calls? Are you insane? Baseball is the slowest game on the planet and replay would add but 10 mins to a game that already takes 4 hours to play. Umpires are a joke but at least they are now rated by the league, which is more than I can say for the players. But you are correct, we should just have incompetence VS accuracy in a sport where the avg player make 3mil. I guess people like you have a lot of empathy for those who suck.

  • @max66bhs those who suck so let me ask you have you ever umpire a game or you just going by assumption on all those replays you use more than once? when an umpire gets one shot to see it with two eyes a full speed. Here another thing baseball is not as slow as you think. You seem to not like it. that fine don't watch if its to slow. I pointed out why it wouldn't work with a machine its more than a strike or ball call's

  • @critter2 You seems to be confused. Replay is used in almost every sport, minus Soccer which is full of mistakes and Baseball which is terrible. You seem to think that humans are better at performing routine tasks like calling balls and strikes than machines. You are wrong, machines do a much better job. The problem with baseball is you have umpires who think they are above the rules, which is why MLB dumped them when they went on strike. Dump the rest and lets have some accuracy.

  • @max66bhs you are moron there is limited replay in baseball and before you think baseball is easy to call go voulnteer i am youth umpire. you cannot have a machine call a dead ball hit by batter yet he didn't try to avoid the ball so he does not get the ball or dead ball stirke or a quick pitch or a balk call or a foul tip call. no to mention foul ball. just cause other sports used them does not make it needed for baseball. your taking the human elemt out of the game which is the fun part

  • @critter2 No shit, you are an umpire. Now there is a shocker. I am a former D1 baseball player and A Major fast pitch player and I coach a community college fast pitch team, which means I know plenty of umpires. But who cares. Machines are better and cheaper and don't have ego's. There is no, "that is my strike zone" with a machine. As for the rest, maybe there will be one guy like in soccer but even then he will be reviewed by video. there is too much money involved for feelings.

  • @critter2 Furthermore, being a good umpire is certainly easier than being a good player. But again, the MBL got rid of a bunch of umpires for one reason, they would not allow the league to rate them. So when they went on strike they canned them. Now the bottom 20% have to go down to the minors and ump. Durwood Merrill, that yo-yo wrote a book about his MLB experiences. How his terrible, ego driven calls and his stubbornness created a league of players who hated his guys. Now there's a genius.

  • @max66bhs keep coming with your crap excsues you won't win why don't you go play chess old geezer

  • @max66bhs if you think baseball is terrible why the fuck are you watching something that has no meaning to you? i never seen an umpire who thinks he above the rules your a moron jumping to assumption on a bunch of people. without even trying to umpire yourself. but yourself an umpire shoes... litter

  • @critter2 Again, this has nothing to do with me or you, it is about accuracy. Machines are better that is why reply is used in almost every sport. Not assumption, fact. I have umpired a ton of games, baseball, fast pitch and basket ball, and the NBA sucks too, just ask Mark Cuban. You are just taking it personal that machines are better when you should be selling it. All you need is a machine to help you and you would be 99.999% correct but maybe your ego won't let you see that.

  • @max66bhs i love how you flated ingore my post and go on about ball and stirke calls its impossible to do that in baseball is the point cause of the rules. you fail to understand this and no i doubt you ever umpire or you would damn well know better.

  • @critter2 I did not ignore you post just your attempt to alter the point, which is this guy in video sucks and a machine could easily replace him and all umpires for that matter. As for the other things you bring up, there is nothing, not one thing that could not be settled with video and settled more accurately. That is the fact and the point. A check swing? No problem. A balk, even easier. And not only would it be simple is would be correct. No ego, no arguments, just the reality.

  • @max66bhs my ass you still are avoidng by points. you cant easily replace an umpire though since you so fucking ingorant i am done playing games. a checkswing no problem? how can a machine say you went around? do you understand this is a judgement call by first and third umpires. a machine can't make that call not to mention the machine would be in the way. you can keep trying to agure you point but you still avoid my points damn to much.

  • @critter2 you are a dumbass. i think wat max is saying, still have the umpires, but use machines to CHECK controversial calls. i dont understand why replay isnt used in baseball (only used for home runs, fair or foul). actually i do know, the umpires unions doesnt allow for replay, but thats besides the point. have umpires call the games, but when somethin is a VERY close, could go either way call, USE replay!

  • @TheFunnyManHQ max has no clue what he saying i am saying tis impossible to switch umpires with humans. the reason why replay is very limited use is baseball 1. he will take too long 2. teh rules state that no matter if its a safe, out, strike, ball, hbp, foul tip, check swing, cannot be argued and is final. a machine can't call a foul tip or if the runner miss the base or if the batter move out of the way on a hit batter. no replay sucks

  • @TheFunnyManHQ replay is for pussies close that can go either is fun. here the point of not having replay it takes the human elemt out of the game and they been even less jobs. yea lets do that and hurt the enomci of the usa even more *clap clap* fans are so fucking stupid

  • @critter2 your an idiot. i DIDNT SAY GET RID OF UMPIRES. yes, you need umpires for the foul tips, if abatter moves on an HBP, etc. youneed umpires for that. im sayin keep umpires, but when there is a play thats called, and there is an ARGUMENT (bc, calls can be changed dumbass; even HBPs or foul tips).

  • @critter2 and who you callin fuckin stupid? you cant even spell economy, you were nowhere close. so stfu and gtfo. and it wouldnt hurt the economy bc im sayin KEEP the umpires, but use replays when they are NEEDED, which is rare.

  • @TheFunnyManHQ funny how you got to throw insults at me just so that you got no argument, i have a disbality but you don't care do you? no you never said that you damn said replace the umpires. no you want replays go watch other sports baseball does not need it. the only time baseball uses replay for home run fair or foul or fan interference. the rest is a judgement call don't like go find another sport.

  • @TheFunnyManHQ btw your not a true baseball fan to ask for replay.

  • @critter2 wow, you truly are a dumbass. i refute all your arguments, friggin show you up on ur insults, then you say that worthless reply?

so, the next time you lose (or rather, the team u root for loses, bc i dont you can actually play) bc an umpire misses a call, but bc of no replay the call stands, dont complain.

  • @TheFunnyManHQ

and how the fuck is wantin to use replay rarely on consequential plays make me not a baseball fan?? replay helps give players what they deserve, be it an outfielderthrows out a guy out to save the game when fbefore replay, the umpire called him safe. or a guy does beat out a throw when the umpire called him out originally. Replay gives the players wat they DESERVE, not an umpire makin his best GUESS of what happened (not hatin on umpires, but they do make mistakes sometimes)

  • @TheFunnyManHQ umpire misses a call its part of a game and a team can over come it. i never ever blamed and umpire for lost ever. so before you go assuming watch what you say. you barley speak English in this comment. umpire misses call is bound to happen you want to know why? there humans i rather hve them miss a call that be perfect. a miss call will not hurt the game. you have no argument

  • @critter2 barely spoke english??i did some shorthand, some typos (like didnt space), and once i left part of a sentence i meant to delete, so once again your making an argument for somethin that has nothin to do with this topic because you have nothin to say.

a missed call wont hurt the game??? you friggin dumb?? go tell Galargga that Joyce (a good umpire, but did mess up) DID NOT MESS UP his perfect game. Galaragga deserved that perfect game, but had it stolen, from a mistake.

  • @TheFunnyManHQ if you have replay, bam,Galaraga gets his perfect game, because that is a call thatobviously shouldve been contested and overturned with video.

and since you think blown calls dont mess up games, i guess you think when players make errors it doesnt mess up games? tell that to the Braves when conrad made that error in the playoffs last year that cost them a game. blown calls hurt just as much as errors by players

  • @TheFunnyManHQ obviously you never read the rules of baseball and what can't go by "if" all you life. i said teams get over blown calls. I am glad bud didn't change the call he made the "right choice" i am so tired of people like you. your not a real baseball fan if you want replay. Obvisouly if we didn't have replays would you even be debating this call still get the fuck over it. secondly all judgement calls are final that means you cannot argue them right or wrong. teams get over bad

  • @critter2 i never noticed this reply till now. but, your wrong, some calls CAN be overturned. it why coaches ask for help from different umpires you moron. rarely actually change the call, but it does. a key example, is when a catcher asks for help on a check swing, the home plate umpire said he didnt swing but they ask for help and the other umpires can overrule the call.

  • @TheFunnyManHQ calls stop bitching and how many times have umpires been right when you believe they were wrong? i wonder....

  • @critter2 i have no idea, im sure a lot. im sure they wrong a lot fo times when i thought they were right as well, not the point

  • @TheFunnyManHQ so you look at a past issues how many miss call never hurt a game ge the fuck over the no hitter that never happen. it was not stolen god fuck you are morons and asshole and so much ignorant. you had no agurement bud. you suck ass. anyone that going to replay to try to agure with you who agree with you are idoits.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheFunnyManHQ wonder why this comment was removed.

  • @critter2 bahahahahaha, thats all you have to say? oh man, gtfo, haha. i removed both of em bc i accidently messed up the posts, i fixed them , then reposted them. ergo, the 2 comments below this.

  • @TheFunnyManHQ what else was i suppose to say there was nothing to say "removed"

  • @critter2 wow, i meant, instead of replyin to my actual posts you replied to the ones i deleted, meanin you have nothin to say, dumbass.

"replay of that comment"? wtf? you need to learn actual comebacks, and think before you say (in this case, post).

  • @TheFunnyManHQ lol i dont need comebacks cause you are a complete and utter fool

  • @critter2 hahaha, "i dont need comebacks, bc your a fool". ok, how am i a fool? how am i stupid? you keep saying these things but nothin to back it up, you just say it, you act like a 4 yr old whose losin an argument, "well ur stupid!" no this has probably been the dumbest, pettiest argument ive ever been in, and im done, im not replyin again to a dumbass who doesnt even know what to say, and doesnt understand what he reads, see ya!

  • @TheFunnyManHQ i am acting like a 4 year old? i am backing my opinion up secondly like you mess your comment up you can still replay to the person simple like @thefunnymanHQ its not hard to figure it out. you have yet to prove anything other than avoid my points period

  • @critter2 holy shit your a dumbass! i swear you arent reading my posts (or my past ones)! ive answered and refuted every single one of ur comments. and yes ur actin like a 4 yr old bc you say stupid shit, "i dont need comebacks bc your a fool", completely baseless and has nothin to do with wat we have argued. you have made many posts like that.

go back, read my posts, (some of em are below these past comments weve had bc you replied to earlier ones).

  • @critter2 and wtf you mean, "you messyour comment up you can still replay to the person simple like @thefunnymanHQ its not hard to figure it out". so wat if i messed my comment up? i fixed it, so no problem. but wtf does the second part mean. "still replay to person"? dude, gtfo. no im def done, you just piss me off by how dumb you are and you dont even realize it.

  • @TheFunnyManHQ lol this just proves my point thank you

  • @critter2 i do hope you realize your makin no sense. and this argument pretty much is over, bc i dont even know where we are now. you comented on some posts that were days old, so i jsut now saw them, and your makin no sense on many of your posts, soooo yeah....

  • @TheFunnyManHQ no you prove my point clearly you continue to insult me when you no your wrong you have no argument what so ever.

  • @critter2 i didnt even insult you in that past post, i just said your not makin sense sometimes.

and even if i did, that doesnt matter, bc i have stated MANY points in this argument, you just arent seein them (bc are posts are all over the place, easy to mess some posts) or you are just refusing to acknowledge.

  • @TheFunnyManHQ what you want a replay of that comment now to???

  • @max66bhs the only ego i have is your shitty jump assumption that anything can replace no it can't for the rules intrruptions you put a machine back there no more hit by batters, can't ask for check swings, etc... did he balk? a machine cant do those calls. you flated ingore my point where you cannot place umpires to fit your shitty as agurement. you suck as a person

  • @max66bhs your just one of those annoy fans who want to have replay and bitch about everythign else.

  • those were pretty much had a touch of plate excpet maybe one. swing teh damn bat and stop bitching.

  • @critter2 Are you blind? I don't think any of those had a touch of the plate? I'm all for batter's just sucking it up and swinging, but when the pitcher can get a strike that is clearly in the opposite batter's box that's a bit ridiculous :P

  • @bigd4316 nope i got 20/20 vision and it hit the conor of the plate if anything the black conronor of the plate close enough to swing. it was not in batter box not all of them... god you people just don't freaking get it

  • @critter2 your freaking retarded i went through the whole video several times and not one of those pitches even remotely touched the corner. they were all at least 4-6 inches off the plate, and last time i checked, your not aloud to hit with fungos. and dont even go there with the vision bs i have 20/13 vision as good as it gets so dont even try ha

  • @Brance1011 u mad? you went through the video several times? there not suppose to touch the corner of the plate if the ball did it couldn't be a strike now when its in the air its a stirke if hits any part of the plate. those are close enough to be called strikes swing the bat.

  • @critter2 i hope your being sarcastic with the whole touch the corner thing because i think we all know that touching the corner implies the ball going over the corner of the plate IN THE AIR. and to hit one of those pitches is almost imposible. especially to hit them solid. a strike is a pitch that touches the 17 inch wide plate IN THE AIR and must be as high or higher than the knee and no higher than the elbow/ letters of the hitter. you must be one of those terrible umpires too.

  • @Brance1011 first don't talk to be about the strike zone i know the damn zone and second those are close enough to hit excpet one swing the bat stop bitching. yea i am terrible i got great reviews my my suprivsors and coachs yea in fact i am doing a champion game this Saturday so go suck it.

  • @critter2 Amen.

  • Now that was a strike because it was in the batters box..hahaha..lol

  • Every umpire has his own strike zone. As long as he's consistent deal with it and swing the bat

  • at least he's doing it to all the teams

  • The guy in all three videos are black.

  • Looks like he's giving it both ways. As wide as it is, it's still consistant.

  • Well this is a common occurrance in baseball. The hitters know the umps zone after an at-bat and they need to adjust. If the ump was consistent then all is fair.

  • Where do you get this "36 inch wide zone" from? The plate is 17 inches wide, and I saw no pitch go more than 4 inches off of the plate (none were shown on the inside corner). This adds up to a 21 inch zone... Your math is a little off. Besides, if you don't like the zone, tell your hitters to SWING THE FREAKIN BAT!

  • @jeschmit2 ɯsɐɔɹɐs/ıʞıʍ/ƃɹo˙ʎɹɐuoıʇʞıʍ˙uǝ//:dʇʇɥ

  • @jeschmit2 1:00 was on the "inside corner." Are you actually watching the video? The width of the strike zone is the width of the plate. That's the rule. So what's with all these lame excuses for the batter to "SWING THE FREAKING BAT"? Why should you reward the pitcher for not hitting the strike zone? The point of having a good eye at the plate is to force the pitcher to throw one IN the strike zone. You expect a hitter to hit the ball squarely when the pitch is in the other batter's box? Lame.

  • @jeschmit2 17 inches wide + 4 inches to each side = 25 inches. Not 21 inches

  • @jeschmit2 No pitches were on the inside of the plate? I guess you are as blind as the idiot Umpire there, watch it again and at about .57 have another look, that is called the inside. A couple pitches were in the opposing batters box, that not just a little outside the strike zone, how the hell does someone swing at those without 8 foot arms?

  • @jeschmit2 the last pitch shown is on the inside part of the plate. Which would give it a 25 inch zone by your definition.

but the first pitch is damn near a foot off the plate. the damn thing comes inside the right-handers batters box.

  • @jeschmit2 Your a dumbass. First of all it was an exaggeration, but that ump had no right to call those bs calls. And secondly, swing the bat? I know hitters should swing but its the principle of the thing. You dont call pitches like that or their gonna find ways to widen it more and more. And lastly, there was a pitch on the inside corner. Didn't you watch the video? Do your research Asshole.

  • this umpire sucks ass. FIRE HIM

  • evry pitch was in the other batters box lol thts horrible!!!

  • Yep that'll keep the game moving all right! I like how the catcher keeps moving the target farther and farther away from the plate to see just how wide that zone is going to get!

  • @oldaardvark Helps when you are dealing with the worst umpires in professional baseball.

  • i am pretty sure that only 1 of those pitches was close to the plate.

I had a pretty bad umpire in the championship when he call strike 3 on me when the ball was about 2 inches above the plate. All i can say the umpire in the video he needs to be up to bat in a pressure situation and have bad calls made on him and see how he likes it. That was horrible for that league. WOW WOW!!
