they got 4th at both the 1998 and 2002 Olympics... They were a FABULOUS team. Really made innovations in this discipline of the sport, but were very rarely rewarded for it on the world stage.
Oh - Iloveholly, they weren't ripped off at the Olympics....they fell! I am positive if it weren't for that at the end that the story would have ended differently. I love them as much as anyone and always agreed that they were underscored, under appreciated and unfairly judged by the international community for their entire career but that fall in the Olympics was just not acceptable and so unlike them.
Remember, Fusar-Poli/Margolio also fell at the Olympics and won bronze. I think, based on all the performances, Bourne/Kraatz probably deserved the bronze.
Finally this year it seems like we have a brilliant field of young, promising teams and it's great to see Shae at competitions as choreographer but I still deserpately wish we could watch Bourne and Kraatz together as pros. I was bitterly disappointed when I heard Vic didn't want to go pro.
It's so good to see this again. I remember feeling completely exhilarated watching this the first time knowing that no one could deny that they were best in the world. I have missed them so much the past few years...ice dance just has not been the same without them.
it makes me so angry and sad that they didnt win. I really feel like crying. They are the most creative duo of all time. No one was as creative as them. and they both loved to dance. especially Shae.
