BC RAIL had put double ditch lights on their engines because of the the valleys they ran on.

Extra lighting. There's huge gaps of forest and mountain between stations, and lots of wildlife. Its just a precaution.

cn had sd40f's and sd60f's from EMD,and bcrail got the 840cm's from GE,when both companies were still independent the 4 window wide cab design was a canadian signature for a long time,starting with the EMD GP40WL,and the MLW M series

Yes it is! Depends which mountains you want to go to? Those in Garibaldi Provincial Park? - there are many access points. Tantalus Range? - you need a boat to cross the Squamish? River.
