Off Doxycycline, Now Spironolactone + Birth Control Day 6

bc pills gave me a eternal period.Still taking spiro but going to try minocycline. i've been on spiro for over a month and not seeing results 10% BENZOYL PEROXIDE works quicker than this with no long term side effects!

@Onegurrrlrev I hate the fact that I started to wear foundation on dates with new bf to cover acne scars on cheeks.Not a good way to start off but I'm super insecure about the cystic acne and scarring on cheeks and chest.

Accutane is a wonderful, phenomenal drug. I've been on it 4 times. That being said, it clearly is not a 'once and done' drug. The 4 times were spread across the last ten years, the last course ended last March 2010, and 6 months later back to breaking out. The last few courses on accutane have gotten closer together in time. Between the first and second course there was a nice four year break. Find a new doc if she keeps refusing accutane, you deserve it if you want it.

@pinkskiesatnite 4 times? the new derm I saw won't even let me go on it a 2n time because she thinks my cystic acne is not severe enough.

I've been on the Spirno, Doxy, and Ortho Tri Cyclen for about 8 days now. I have 2 more days of the antibiotics left. Overall the only changes I've noticed is my skin is drier. I've had 1 new pimple since I started all the meds. School break is over in about a month and I'd love to see some results by then../crossess fingers

@foxxyshot Have you ever tried minocycline. How long before spiro took effect?

Please keep posting.I totally know how you feel about not wanting to talk to friends or family. It can be embarrassing, because you feel like they totally notice it and just stare at it. Anyways, I just got on the same regimen of Spirno and birth control. The person who prescribed it to me didn't do any blood work though, and I read that you're supposed to be tested before you're put on the Spirno. Did they check your blood? Stay vigilant with the medicines, that's what I'm going to do.

I will keep posting! I'm home again for the holidays, and will do a video soon. I didn't get tested either before going on Spiro, but thank you for the advice, I'll keep a lookout on how my body changes with this. How long have you been on this? any changes (for the better)? good luck to you too!
