You are absolutely right. And not only problems at home, they are continously making problems ,a.k.a war, all around the world and have been doing so for the most part of modern history. It's their economical growth.
11:20: ..."Why in the world are we still in Afghanistan?"... My guess is, the powers that be, want to maintain strategic military occupation in Afghanistan , in order to advance "nuclear bases", of the said borders. Just a thought! Thankh you for the commentary Real News.
Afghanistan is at the centre of Asia. If anything, it'll make an excellent staging point for any US operations there. Airbases will be the most frequent US funded complexes in Afghanistan in the future.
Just more reasons to get the US out of the UN. All this talk of world domination, nations pitted against each other for control of world resources, is the recipe for destruction. We need to mind our own affairs, trade and be friends with other nations, but we should avoid entangling alliances with all nations. All that leads to is conflict.
I believe the missle defence was always meant as bargening chip to keep Russia from interfearing in the Israeli led American war with Iran thats coming.
megalonaut: Glad to see someone else has figured out that Israel is behind all these threats to Iran. It's frustrating watching corporate media constantly report the possible threat of Iran having nuclear weapons (which they don't) when Israel's nuclear arsenal (which they have > 80 warheads) is never mentioned.
america really needs a revolution... make the elite feel again how it is to be on the ground and what war does to people, oppose the idea of 1. 2. and 3. class education dismantle the ivy league it only creates people without touch to the commoner and a unjustified ressentment of the commoner. they should send their own sons to war, so people would be sure that they really are so certain that war is the best solution that they would send their own children to die
I think we worry too much. What are the odds that the internet could exist for a century without a site emerging that just tends to organize us into an effective political force: a genuine meta-government that so clearly and rapidly allows world's electorate to collectively process the issues directly, and set an agenda for all governments that they have no choice but to adopt? We have the neuron that can make a functioning single mind out of the lot of us. Murphy's Law will make it happen.
There is no such thing as a religion that is not about politics because we don't use that word unless it is. When a religion has nothing to do with politics we call it a mythology.
Imagine this was happening in another country, by a different elected official, people would have a completely different view of the policies and precedence this is setting.
There's no coming back from a government that forces you to use so much "energy", earn so much money, and use your time on this planet in a way THEY prescribe.
Tyranny by any other name is still tyranny. No wonder the thugocracy and dictators applaud this guy! Yet they laugh at him off camera because he has no real power.
The point is that who happens to be President doesn't have all that much impact on our lives or policy because there are 535 pawns of the most monied industries, like banking and insurance, that have the lion's share of real power. The system isn't as badly broken as the electorate is. A gaggle of cowardly ignorant religious scumbags does not an electorate make. The majority of the US electorate functions like a lynch mob and does little more than block any sort of meaningful political dialogue.
They're not anymore religious than Obama or Clinton, they are just cynically exploiting the United State's huge religiosity for their own gain. But aside from that I couldn't agree more.
I disagree. I've read enough things that Obama has written to notice a complete lack of factive verbs when it comes to comments about his faith or anyone else's. No way anyone but an "agnostic" could have written it. Genuinely religious people absolutely always use language that clearly implies their belief that god is real. Obama never does. Neither of those guys has a low enough IQ to permit them to be religious. The religious filth wouldn't even vote for Christ if he became an atheist.
I thought you were talking about the real "they." Cause it isn't Obama that has that agenda. Bush was 100% the pawn of organizations like "The Family." They are the ones your post refers to. And yes, you're spot on I think. Obama isn't a part of it, but most of congress is (both sides.) He has too much personal integrity to be effective given the nature of the role. That's why he's incapable of either standing his ground or being very good at outwitting the slime on the hill.
to watch Obama's speech was cringe worthy for the amount of hypocrisy spewed, ok, not quite as cringe worthy as Bush's hypocrisy, but still, cringe worthy none the less.
i just LOOOVe how people throw bush into the mix to deflect Obamas fallacy..If you havent figured out that recent past presidents have been having there own agenda, regaurdless of public feedback?there all shills it seems to ''the greater good''The good of WHO though?Only people who have benefited out of his first 6 months is bankers..Hmm..
I loooove how people comment on here like they know more about whats going on and the right thing to do about it than the president. 8 years of Bush and its hard to imagine not knowing more than your president.
@TheRealNews - I hope you are starting to see the reality of what Obama is really about. The Patriot Act renewed, domestic spying continues, Afghan war escalated... this is Bush 2.0.
"Look at the last 9 months" he says.......Like what?, how we can lose trillions of dollars with no accountability? or is it the pulling troops out of one war we dont understand only to send them into another war we dont understand? sheesh
@Omexoplex: Agree with you. Just a reminder...both Iraq and Afghanistan were invaded. There has never been a war with them, just criminal invasions with million+ victims. The Bush-Chenney administration bankrupted the US. But then... they were puppets, the real pupeteers are above presidents.

That is a thought, yes. And also, as in every U.S. involvement, -the general idea is to make it go on as long as possible to maintain weapons trade.

What good is the UN ?
Its a waste of time, money , space
UN - food for oil program - totally corrupt
End the UN, WHO, WTO, IMF and any other global organization that threatens country sovereignty

You didn't really need to wait for it, because it's similar to the Bush plan for your life. Kind of redundant.
