When I hear people say "wow, now that Michael made it so famous I bet the songwriter wishes they had not sold it" with this song and You Are Not Alone and Gone Too Soon and even Thriller... I'm like come on now, you really think the song would be so famous if Michael had not sang it!? That is some backwards thinking!
@TheOneanjel youre musically inept if you believe that either you are not alone or thriller would not have been big hits,r kelly certainly would have a had a smash hit if he had sung and released it thriller certainly couldve been crafted around another vocalist and been a hit record.Theres no denying when mj sings a song it grows wings and soars but to say they would not of been famous is a little bit 'backward'.Id love to know what you think of the Cascio tracks on the Michael CD.

As for her being well-known, she is only known because of her work with Michael. Like most people Michael worked with, it was under his direction that they became known. This song would not have left the studio if Garrett had kept it for herself. That's one of the most awesome acheivements MJ lays claim to, making humanitarian and religious songs into pop songs. No one else could have done that.
