@ILRappin it really all depends. most new bikes now run shorty exhausts on the side to help with mass centralization, but a lot of it has to do with style too. i actually used to have an 08 zx6r with the exhaust under the tail, and now ive got an 09 with the exhaust out the side. i really liked the look of the undertail exhaust, but the side mounted exhaust on my 09 sounds waaay meaner and seems like it helps out in performance too, but maybe thats just me. haha

When the exhaust is changed, is it necessary to also remap the motor in order to optimize the fuel / air mixture, ect., or is it just a way for the dealership to make more money from customers, anyone know this? thank you

Hope this isnt a dumb question but did u take the CAT out too?(to the right of the exhaust.) I see an extra part there but not sure what it is. if so does that make it any more louder? If anything it seems like it changes the look for the better! shorter looking can.

I have the exact same setup with my 09 600, slip on carbon and everything, no silencer though. Its so loud i love everything about it. My question is where did you get your frame sliders at and and did you have to cut your fairings at all. I cant find a set that doesnt require me having to cut the plastics.
