does anyone remember when jake the snake tricked the ultimate warrior and lucifer bit him? dumbest promo ever jake was supposed to feud with warrior, to bad he got fired it wouldve been an insane feud
This man single handedly made the two greatest fan favs of all time, Taker was a heel until Jake made him a good guy, and John 3;16 became Austin 3;16, just because he has problems away from the ring shouldn't deny fans the chance to see this man, Vince needs to put him back in the WWE then he can help create better stars than we have, another Snake Pit would be a welcome relief
@king0785 You to, I always picture around 1:08 that JCVD is doing 360 spin kicks in the air, whilst making crazyy ass faces, shouting AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
For money as a 7 year old this guy was one of the fucking greatest wrestlers I've ever seen to this day. He was the original Stone Cold Steve Austin. An absolute badass who feared no man and knew how to fuck with people to control the psychological battle. He even psyched out Andre the Giant with his python.
@Snitsky9 ok i might have been wrong on meeting yokozuna but i have deffinet meet jake the snake roberts marty jennetty gangrel cos i can tell you for fact that i had a picture taken with marty jennetty shoke hands with jake roberts gangrel i can tell you where and when it was at the new theatre in oxford in 2001/2002 it was british wrestling
I just read online that Jake Roberts officially announced his retirement at the age of 55 due to "health reasons". I wanted to take this minute to reflect back upon one of my all time favorite wrestlers growing up as a kid. I was always found of Jake "The Snake". I thought he cut the most convincing promos and put on some of the best matches. I think its a shame that people poke fun at some of his personal problems. All in all Jake is a Hall of Fame Superstar in my book!
@undertakernumberone1 Jake in an interview just replied "The End" when someone asked what the move stood for. He said the move was innovated on accident.
The second best theme song of all time in my opinion.....accually I would say it is closer to "Miami Vice" than John Carpenter ( who is a great composer himself)
Jake "The Snake" Roberts in ring and out ring personas were always questioned because they were practically identical. He remains to this day one of the most feard men in professional westling.
Back when the WWE/F's theme songs were actually good. Now they just have gay ass pussy bands like papa roach and Saliva playing some lame songs for their wrestlers to come out to.
i dont know why your comment was spammed, coz its true, you cant identify or tell most of the wrestlers apart these days. wheres the gimmicks? they all have shit tatoos and crap 70's trunks, dibiase jr, orton , rhodes, and some others, they all look alike, i feel for todays kids watchin the shit that is todays wwe
Dunno why people hate Orton. I mean he is a great wrestler, and a wwe legend for sure.
Only because of being a heel doesn't mean he is thrash. There were some wrestlers that were born to be heel characters, and Orton knows how to take it by the balls.
@dkfifteen in some ways he reminds me of jake too, but that ovation he got at the royal rumble on sunday might make me think of ways he could remind someone like you of stone cold.
i speak for myself and myself only when i say orton has started to remind me a little of stone cold
yes ill admit he is one of the greatest legends of all time but i have to point out his ddt was not that affective on certain superstars not like tombstone or chokeslam.
@ant8tfive I know this comment was a year ago, but dang if it isn't true. This guy would have for sure been a permanent stable ultimate heel if not for his drug problems. He had the look, the demeanor, the smarts, and the talk to get him wherever he wanted to go in the wrestling business. Let this be a lesson to you kids: DON'T DO DRUGS.
@ant8tfive Oh hell yes. When I was little, I always used Jake's moveset against my cousins. Short arm clothesline followed by the best damn DDT ever in the biz.
i had a hulk hogan tape from probably 92 or so..it had 4 matches on it, but in the middle of the tape, it had a hogan workout montage, and this is the song that played..if anyone else had that tape, i think it was called "Hulk Hogan: Real American" ..it was matches against Andre, King Haku, Ted Dibiase, and Nikolai Volkoff
I have that on tape, it was Saturday Nights Main Event from 1988 I believe, the night where Andre pinned Hogan with the help of "Fake" Earl Hebner... That´s where this training video was showed originally, I believe. Great Memories! : )
bloodcream. Don't you remember. Earl Hebner didn't exist then. Senior referee was Dave Hebner and Ted Dibiase did some type of MIssion Impossible plastic surgery on a guy to make him look like Dave Hebner to cheat for him.
I think that because both have the best promos ever, both of their promos are dark, insightful, and they make you want to hear more. And both are among the best of their generations,
I want to know who this generations Snake or Raven is though...
I dunno man, guys like Raven and Jake, they're tough acts to follow, especially these days.
I'd say if anyone, closest I can think of is Jimmy Jacobs' Age of the Fall gimmick. His promo where they hung one of the Briscoes overhead and Jacobs let their blood rain down on him was pretty unique to say the least.
The Raven heel persona was a product of Paul Heyman more than Scott Leevy. Without Paul Heyman writing the stories, the Raven character was horrible. When he left ECW he should have left the Raven character there with it.
he used this for a couple years before he turned heel and of course in '96 as well. compare the songs, man. this is the main theme i remember as a kid. every snake fan knows that lol. when i recently heard that 1st theme it was easy to tell the difference. he used that in the late 80s. this is the main theme, not a briefly used remixed version.
The first time the theme was used was for a video package showing Hulk Hogan working out just before his match with Andre The Giant on an edition of "The Main Event" February 5th 1988.
Yes, that is the infamous screw job title match with Ted DiBiase paying off the referee.
xpander2k, THANK YOU!!! Nobody believes me when tell them that it was used for that vinette showing Hulk getting ready for his "Main Event" match w/ Andre. As I remember, it was very well done and showed Hogan in a very cool way!!
didnt they use this theme from around wrestlemania 6 vs dibease and wrestlemania 7 versus martel? and when he came back for that one year in 96? They used that first theme with that 80's beat to it for wrestlemania 4 vs rick rude and wrestlemania 5 vs andre? trust me was from wrestlemania 8.

Never mind. I see what everyone is doing. They are labeling "Trust Me" as his second theme, which isn't entirely true. He used his first theme AND this theme before he turned heel and "Trust Me" came along. This theme is technically his second theme, not his third.
