everybody has this mindset where they think john mayer played pop just so he could scrap together some cash and respect to play blues. that's not true AT all. john says all the time, his two favorite music styles to play are blues AND pop. he played your body is a wonderland, no such thing, daughters, and all his other pop songs because he loves that music. he plays the trio, because he loves it also. there was no "oh i'll do what the population wants and then do my own thing".
he has always done what he wants to do with his music, and i admire that, especially in a person who can play a song like no such thing, and then play something as unique as this song, or who did you think i was.
Other great guitar players out there other than John Mayer in blues but I'm happy that he has turned to blues. Bring the younger crowd that probably would not have ever thought of listening to blues before!
Yea.. i think he had to play that pop (wich isnt that bad) stuff to "make it" no i can do what he wants to and he decides what kind of music he does..
its the eric clapton crossroads gibson es 335 given to john by eric clapton himself there were only a limited number of these guitars and they sold for over 10 grand
I think that John Mayer is so talented that its amazing that he has it all.....A great voice....great guitar skills....and the best writing in his songs. He is my favorite and I cant tell you how his music has come into my life and moved me.I have never ever heard him play a bad song. A legend in the making.....John Mayer
