I found this video to have a lot of incorrect information. Bamboo cannot spread in water-it cannot grow in water. A two inch barrier will not help to control the spread. Planting bamboo in a pot in the ground wont either. For good info on bamboo try the American Bamboo Society website.

yes i watched some bamboo videos. it was helpful to know about the running bamboo. i have some in my yard and it is crazy. but i want it ti grow in another area for privacy the container idea is great? How big does the container have to be to have stalks about 20 feet high?

I now this is old message.But were you ever successful at what your trying to do?I am thinking of getting Bamboo for privacy it's just I don't know where to get seeds for timber bamboo.I don't feel like paying $300 for a gallon plant.

i havent tried to relocate and container my crawling bamboo yet . but i am thinking of big barrells, containers the size of trash cans.i want them to grow about 20 feet.i even want to build them on some kind of platform to reach high.i figuure i will cover the barrels with those outdoor blinds ,ill just cut them to size and surround all the barells.i need about 10 of them.
