The truck will not sound as good as mine did with out going with high flow mids or no cats. I found out when I put on my long tubes that one cat was hollowed out and one wasn't. So it was a good choice at the time to gut the other one as well.

Yeah...jus ask anyone with a fuckin' PRIUS if they feel confidence in the enviornment everytime THEY hit the gas pedal. At least my Lightning's throttle never stuck on the floor unless my foot was on top of it!!!!!

Money is no issue here, hell i burn through a full tank of gas any time i go mudding, and that usually takes about an hour to do. But i dont mind because i can just go and buy more gas. No matter how high the prices get, im not going to park my vehicles and buy a hybrid. It just means people like you should get off your ass, do a little more work, make a little more money, and pay a little more. I do not change the gas prices, its the CEO's that sit on their ass and want a bigger paycheck.

I live in New York and I have been going crazy looking for an L. Who cares what the gas prices are. I drive a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer EXT 5.3L V8. It gets horrible gas mileage and I knew that when I bought it. but I don't care. : ). I need an L so badly. I've been searching like crazy to find one with low mileage and in good condition.

this may come across as a stupid question but i have had a 2000 ford lightning since it was brand new in 2000 and gas was about $1 per gallon, and i was wondering if i could convert the gears to 2.73 to get better mpg

I would just stay with the stock 3:55's. Why not get a tune for 87 octane. I know JJ@WMS used to offer a tune like that, not sure if any other Vendors will or not. Also, I don't think you can get a lower gear than 3:55 for our trucks with it being a 9.75" and not a 9" rear end.

At the time of that sound clip It had a set of bassani high flow mid pipes. When I pulled them off to cut them to fit for long tubes. I found one cat was completely hollowed out and the other was not. So I just went ahead and hollowed the other one out. In my other video you can hear the sound difference with the Long tubes and no cats. Not quite as raspy.

In that video, 2# lower,2.8 upper,cai,high flow mids.,Magnaflow catback. I have Keene Bell 2.3 and fuel supporting mods on the way. I will be running a 5# lower and 3.5 and 3.25 uppers.
