  • 7 dislikes?.... Really? ..... Wow, sometimes I just don't understand some people.....

  • this is real songwriting if you ask me. Meatloaf has been blessed to sing amazing songs and this is one of the best; his songs blend the music story in harmonic perfection to the classical music to his rock voice. It is the perfect juxtaposition which is what makes this guy an icon.

  • No Kurzgan, no one who did'nt live through this era could understand

  • I use to sing this when I was in a band .... made me cry then and makes me cry now ... I love it ... this entire album is one of the top 3 ever made .... IMO

  • This is the only Meatloaf album I can say I enjoy. Oddly enough it's my favourite album (in it's entirety) of all time. Everything from the songs, the lyrics, the arrangements right down to the EPIC cover art. Listening to it instantly takes me back to a time when everything was better, this era was truly amazing and anyone who wasn't around for the 70's can't possibly understand. The amazing thing about this song is that it can be played to win someone's heart, or honour someone's life.

  • Playede this at my husbands funeral nearly 12 years ago and it still makes me cry every time i listen to it Miss you James

  • @semajon01 awe im sorry for your loss its a great song =)

  • great song, great performer!!! For all the nay sayers out there, Yes Meatloaf is an aquired taste who may not appeal to everyone, and then you have your closet Meatloaf fans who are afraid to admit liking not only him but the whole persona of the band, but with all do respect give the man and his band there dues!!!!! they made millions of people happy and they were very talented!!!!!God bless folks and Merry Christmas!!To you and yours!!!

  • Awesome song

  • I'm 16 and want you all to SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT YOUR AGE!!!!

  • Im 2 years old, and I comment on videos of older music saying im a young lad listening to this, in hopes i get respect from other people I have never met, nor probably never will.

    Forever alone.

  • @nickolimidget nothing wrong with listening to the greats of the past, aka metallica,,iron maiden, meatloaf,, AC/DC, ;Led zeplain, aerosmith, brian adams.. the list goes on, you have my respect I grew up on this era of music and will cherish it always =]

  • Beautiful, beautiful song. He sings this in such an emotional and modest way. And that beautiful high not at the end is the perfect finishing touch. Brilliant. Jim Steinman and Meatloaf are great together.

  • i love Meat Loaf i do some covers of his songs, there on my channel, i also do covers from the Beatles, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, Ronnie James Dio (R.I.P) and much more, im posting a lot more videos soon, i know ill never get as many views as Meat Loaf but i can dream... :}

  • i know shenannigan

  • From all the songs in the world, this one is probably the first one to make me cry

  • How does this song not get to you?

  • 3 people have lost the use of there ears, and dont have a clue about a musical masterpiece like this song.

  • @jimkirk363 yep

  • hey J4K0B1 im 18 and i love old music cause unlike now musicians had passion and soul when they sang. The only thing u see now is a bunch of wasted talent like Billy Talent and Maroon 5. I cant even call the new stuff music cause it isnt.I would give anything to have lived in a time when music and rock was rock nroll

  • I love this music, made in the day u had to have talent to get into the music industry and not just looks so people wish they could fuck u! Makes me sick what the music industry does to people for money.

  • Amazin song with so memorys of a special some1 r.i.p dez xx

  • @J4K0B1 This "old music" doesn't sucks! Why do you think this song is on the third highest selling album of all time?

  • @J4K0B1 I pity you. I really do.

  • @J4K0B1 Then there is a x button on the superior right corner of your screen, click it and don't ever see this video again

  • hey im 14 andd i have been listening to meatloaf and most of classical rock most of my life. Just letting people now me and my friends are probably the only ones who like the Beatles, AC/DC, Journey, Meatloaf, Def Leopard, and etc..... because now all the sing about is awww our feelings are hurt lets cry about it and cut ourselves...or you can suck it up like a real man and listen to real rock n roll instead of having a wasted youth

  • @antwesvil2 well said!!!!!!

  • @antwesvil2 your not the only kids in the world who love old school music! it kind of hurts how you think that, im 15 and ive been listening to this longer than you have, i take this music to heart...

  • @antwesvil2 i listen to meatloaf and i'm 13

  • @antwesvil2 Keep on Rocking !!!!!!!!!

  • @antwesvil2 A wasted youth is better by far, than a wise and productive old age :)

  • @antwesvil2

Hey I hope you're still into the noise - aren't you addicted to Guns'n Roses yet? Faith No More doing Black Sabbath's WAR PIGS is also worth some dedication (apart from like almost everything they did). Never forget Patti Smith! Enjoy those years now. They're the best and VERY FAST! regards, Claudia

  • @antwesvil2 You have no idea do you? I hate people like you who don't actually LOOK for good music today, instead just saying the old stuff is better, get out there and experiance what the world has now, instead of falsely thinking the past is better.

  • @antwesvil2 Look new music is good. The only new music i like though is eminem. Because now he sings about fixing his problems and being normal. I like music that has deep meaning in it.

  • @antwesvil2 I'm 16 and agree wholeheartedly.

  • @antwesvil2 your not the only ones, me and my friends are the same, but if you like those bands you should try to listen to airbourne they still have that sound

  • @antwesvil2 Don't forget Led Zeppelin!!!!

  • @antwesvil2 hey im 24 and i felt the same as you when i was 14 and im sure its alot worse now but as long as you spread the you will change a few people will change. however, i think there is a reason for this state of affairs...90% of people are morons. i think thats the only thing ive learned for sure since i was your age!

  • @antwesvil2 - Truer words were never spoken! Love it!

  • @antwesvil2 words of wisdom. You're like the yoda of all things rock.

  • @antwesvil2 No. You are probably not the only ones who listen to music like this -___- stop thinking you're so special. Thousands of young people still listen to things like this. Me included.

  • This is what you call music not the music now this days Music industry is now shit

  • im only 24 and i luv him more than anyone he fucking gettin me in xmas mood steely xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • This takes me back...17 years old and in love with Nancy Reynolds.

  • ... as is every key press on that piano.

  • Also wore out 2 of these albums. After initial euphoria of 'Bat out of hell' this track has always been my favourite.

Not only a song about endings (respect to all posters). Just texted lyrics to a new friend: "Give me all of your dreams, and, Let me go along on your way" is pure beauty.

  • I'm not old school but I must say music back then was so much better.

  • 2 people are waiting to heaven

  • r.i.p grandad ur loved n missed so much this song goes out 2 u x no u loved it xxxxx

  • Beautiful. Simply beautiful.

I've been on a Meat Loaf kick for the past few weeks now, literally, most of the music I've listened to were sung by him (admittedly I've only just gotten into the classic stuff from him, such as 'Not a Dry Eye' and this song.)

Ah well, onto the iPod it goes!

  • such a powerful song!

    beautiful

  • Not 'Martin'! Meat's real name is Marvin :)

  • i took this "album" from my aunt when i was 7 or 8 wore out several record player needles and finally the album but i kinew the whole album by heart by the time that happened. been listing to Meat Loaf ever since.

  • Sublime....shame i'm 15 and no one my age gets it

  • @indiepoos one of my earliest memories, listning to this on casset in the car with my mum and dad back in the day, me singing along as a wee tote, probably about 7 or 8 and realising that music existed, i knew that there were songs, but i mean MUSIC, thats quite a profound thought to have for a kid but i remember it like it was yesterday i had on these snow boots with spikes on the bottom and i just booted a hole in the car door and blamed it on my brother. good times!

    keep it up buddy.

  • @indiepoos india davids?

  • @cod272 :S is that a guess at my name? sorry i'm confused ^_^

  • I listened to this album over and over when it came out. Great love making song. :)

  • I had the vinyl of this and just bought the CD at Amazon. It was wonderful. It came out the year that my husband and I met. What sweet days they were...such sweet music.

  • @usermethis aw man

    hope ur ok dude

  • @FallingthrougFire26 thanks, oh yah, itll be aight, heavan can wait for me...god dont want me up there yet.. or he'll have me to deal with

  • I reckon and i'm sure that you will all agree with me, there has never ever been a such good singer in the entire world. Plus his songs have a meaning and a story. He is what gives us hope and light in life.

  • pour moi ça me rappelle ma jeunesse mes premiers amours, c'était les années 79 et j'avais 17 ans, une belle époque que je n'es jamais oublié, d'ailleurs j'ai le vinyle et le CD de meat loaf

  • 2 people don't know the meaning of good music.

  • Reminds me of a beautiful girl that I miss alot.

  • Already lined up this song at my memorial service.

  • @lawman446 ME TOO!!!!!!!!

  • amazing song

  • Best song about Peter Pan ever! Too bad Meat's best work rarely gets radio time.

  • This is some real music. You don't hear it any more like this. This are songs with a feeling, not some computer generated stuff.

I got a LP and the CD of this album, i love it!

  • I can remember the day when my dad first let me listen to these guys...we were in teh car and i thought the cover looked awesome so he put it on.

five seconds later i was head banging, with the music turned up full blast in the middle of darlington!!

Im so glad that my dad did this!!!

    Love you forever.

  • @FallingthrougFire26

a memory no-one can take away

  • @ManMultiBusa makes music worthwhile after all doesn't it

  • Can't argue with this band. This album still sells to this day. What a voice.

  • I assume that this song will going through my head, when I face my Maker!

  • One of the best ballads I've ever heard. Ever.

  • Had this album on casset and wore it out twice. When I tried to do the same with my grandfather's Vinyl, I got shot down REALLY fast. Good times.

  • true legend

    enough said............

  • @powermfkpj if you google youtube to mp3 converter and download it that works! perfroms miracles for me. =D

  • @ANGERFIST122 Here's An Ever Better TidBit.... keepvid.com

  • Such a sad song..

  • Someone needs to punch either Todd Rundgren or Roy Bittan in the nose for this. Todd used some of the E Streeters as the backing band on purpose, and it is very obvious here. Notice how Roy continually hits at "Thunder Road" through out, but never quite carries though with it. It is really noticeable at the end.

  • This is always 'such a sensitive song'... thanks 'for the share' !

    With Love,

    Marilyn

  • GOLD!!!
