  • ROFLMAO!! She did not respond positively to his Forrest Whittiker joke.

  • For this show they'd obviously get really stupid people or actors to play the atheists. An atheist like Matt Dillahunty, though...that would be a great thing to watch.

  • They'll find an unbiased (non-planted) 'atheist' in Turkey......really..

  • @philthy122 here i am

  • I'd watch the show, but only if the host appeared wearing an Easter Bunny costume and each religious leader was forced to wear a Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus outfit while proselytizing to the atheist, just so that the show made as much sense as possible.

  • @Mogley52 oh my "God" 18 paragraphs of bullcrap.

  • convert christians to your religion.

as if atheists are blank slates or something

    fucking idiots.

but wouldnt it be funny if one of the theists became an atheist?

  • most islam converts are seduced by the idea of God alone , great , cause it makes sense ,, but as they progress they stumble upon books of sunnah , hadith , and some other books writen by men and atributed to the messenger many years after his death , and they get into them thinking that its part of islam ,oblivious to the fact that quran is the only message brought by the messenger as a mercy to man kind, in a way they go back to where they came from but this time its a hiden trap , peace

  • if all Americans are muslims the world will be better place ........no war and peace all over Allah hu akhbar

  • @FollowTheChildren theory of evolution which has no proof btw

The dumbing down of america continues...........

  • There is a way to convert all atheists at the same time. Every single one of them.

Show scientific testable proof of gods existence. Don't talk around it. We have a problem with faith and belief. Show proof!

If by chance they can show proof how come they didn't do it 2000 years ago?

  • I want to be on this show so bad. LMAO

  • 0:26 He says pervert????

  • @Zezra01 LOL, he said "perfect" =)

  • they will just plant christians to try to make it seem that conversion of a true free thinker is possible. its like trying to convince a vegan to go hunting.

  • THIS TURKISH FAGGOT IS A TRUE RACIST...AND CHEATS ON HIS WOFE...TRUE STORY.

  • @Lifter85 geeez thats the best you could do? There are books out there that can help you when making stuff up about people. I am much more creative than you.

  • I like this video but those subtitles are not right.

  • 0:46 TV host's regret of the week. 0:51 Co-host regretting ever taking this job.

  • I feel like an ass now for never having considered this guy was not religious. I actually look that this little web show in a whole new light. Excellent.

  • Won't work. No active atheist (not just someone who doesn't even think about religion) will ever become religious. What will convince them is evidence of a God, and there is no evidence. They would have to "plant" people who are paid to act the part. To we atheists, what this show is the equivalent of is attempting to get us to believe in Santa Claus again. It's just not going to happen. Did this show ever air?

  • Where is this event taking place? Are there recordings of it? I really want to watch how they try to convert people.

  • What's the name of the show which tried to convert atheists into religious?

  • Religion is fuckin hilarious

  • @my89tube and it is a huge moneymaker too ex. benny hinn, Pat Robertson, and most people in TBN

  • @FollowTheChildren there is no part of satan that is not part of god. god is omnipresent, meaning everywhere. therefore every part of satan is part of god. also, not one part of hell is seperate from god. same reason. change your mind about anything?

  • What ever happened with this show? Did it run in Turkey?

  • Sweet !! This can do nothing but demonstrate ridiculiousness of religions !!

  • "Lighthouses are more useful than churches." - Ben Franklin

  • hahaha dumbass religious freaks

    this will make more atheists..good

  • @FollowTheChildren You only send me some more lies... I don't really care about lies to be honest. I have send you some unbiased articles. There is also no source on your articles, so.... what ever.. I can make up stuff too if you want, and trust me, it will be way better then the bible :D

  • @FollowTheChildren Shut up you idiot.

Nothing you said there was right, everything was a LIE!

Almost non of the scientists believe in god, where the hell did you get that from! And you don't throw in proof, BECAUSE THE IS NONE!.... you little sheep.... stop making stuff up, or say stuff you didn't check!

Feel free to send me your proof in a PM btw :)

You people are exactly why we become atheists, cause you are full of SHIT!

  • I don't speak turkish, but i definitely want to watch the show! I love it!

  • Don't give Iran Any ideas!

  • I would love to see this show in America

  • IF religious leaders are smart, they will pick atheists who are dumb as a post and in articulate enough that they can't defend themselves. That will make them look good. But against an intelligent, articulate, informed atheists then they don't stand a chance.

  • @blueboyblue are there dumb atheists? calling yourself an atheist means you have used your brain at least once. the religious leaders are going to have a tough time anyway.

  • so, does anyone know the name of this tv show? I would love to see it if I could find it with subtitles

  • I was the 500th thumbs up YEY!

  • the "Buddhist leader" can't be really a Buddhist no Buddhist try to convert someone else

  • i dont know why they would include a buddhist"leader" in this dialogue. buddhists do not try to "convert" people

  • @BeingNobody1956 I've heard this before by buddhists, and maybe you can help me understand why it is that buddhism doesn't proselytize. If your religion (I'm assuming you're buddhist) has teachings which are of value to people, why wouldn't you want to convert them?

  • @Xsublime28xX i think it is because people have to have a desire to take a path on their own. why does someone need "convert" them. buddhists are not in competition with other religions. it is possible to be buddhist, christian, jewish at the same time from our perspective. if someone asks questions it is fine to teach them how to find the answer on their own, but i cannot find the answer to someone elses questions. they have to look within themself and find truth themself

  • @Xsublime28xX that doesnt mean other buddhists do not want to be supportive or apathetic. we just recognize that each individual has to see these things with their own heart. it has to be "experienced", not taught. so, we are not trying to steal anyone and make them believe what we believe. only by emptying ourselves can we fill ourselves

  • @BeingNobody1956 Well how did buddhism spread from its place of origin to all over asia? Buddhist missionaries had to have taken the dharma from one country to another, and introduced it to people who were already practicing a religion.

  • @Xsublime28xX there is a difference between a monk just going someplace to practice his bekiefs and people come and ask him what he is doing and missionaries going someplace distributing literature and insinuating to people that the physical conditions of their day to day life are contingent on their spiritual beliefs. I have never had a buddhist monk offer to me one word of information relating to buddhism and absolutely zero literature relating to buddhism unless i specifically requested it

  • @BeingNobody1956 I wish all religions had the same policy my friend. Thanks for answering my questions :-)

  • What, theres nothing wrong with a show to convert athiest to creationism but theres something wrong with the possibility of a creationist becoming an athiest?

  • we need to covert to the basedgod

  • Instead of converting atheists into theists, they're probably going to kill each other over whose religion is superior. Good luck with that. "God" bless thee :P

  • dman show's in turkish;

I wish they mad one in english so I could watch it

  • If there had been an actual bet, the male anchor would have lost, it is 2011 and I do not believe we have any shows like that

  • Wait!

What's the NAME of the TV show!?

  • @crocoshocker It's called "Penitents Compete" or for Turkish "Tovbekarlar Yarisiyor" It hasn't started yet because religious leaders are still bitching about the fact that atheists could get their voice heard.

  • Oh I would beg them to put me on it!! Convert me!!! PLEASE!!! Just try!!

  • needs more pastafarianism lol

  • I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.

    - Mahatma Gandhi

  • @civilarchangel could not be said any better..

  • Why isn't this in America? Oh wait, the Muslims won't be participating... The Catholics would probably protest. The Christians, Protestant would participate. I hope they don't get the fundies..

  • They will just do WOLOLO!! and the atheists shirts will change colour.

  • Religion is what keeps the poor from murdering the rich.

    - Napoleon Bonaparte

  • Deists and atheists only disagree about the first microseconds of the cosmos. This means that you can believe in a God and not believe in fairy tales. Which some deist consider a self creating existence a fairy tale.

  • @Keysteeze

"Which some deist consider a self creating existence a fairy tale."

    this is special pleading.

If you're going to claim the universe has to have a cause or agency behind it, why would this "god" (which you really haven't defined) NOT need an "intelligence behind it"?

Secondly, taking into account the cosmological constant, dark matter etc. the universe may well be a zero-sum energy entity. allowing it to arise from nothing and requiring no "god".

  • Even if there is a God behind God behind God....stretching backwards nearly to infinity eventually something must recieve exemption. You may say, "Why can't the universe itself be that which recieves exemption?" I know my statement is a exercise in special pleading because a self caused universe breaks the rules as well. Both explainations are seeking exemption, are they not? The idea of matter arising from oblivion by itself is special pleading as well in our current understanding.

  • @Keysteeze

Erm, even if they were both special pleading, the explanation without god is more parsimonious.

However, without this "everything needs a cause" rule, there's no special pleading taking place. You have ZERO examples of matter/energy/time/space being *caused* to exist because you have zero examples of those things springing forth ex-nihilo.

  • @Keysteeze

"The idea of matter arising from oblivion by itself is special pleading as well in our current understanding."

No it's not. Matter/antimatter pairs form all the time on the quantum scale. Provided the net energy is zero, it's entirely possible in our current understanding of physical laws.

Interestingly enough, if we take into account observed effects of dark matter and the cosmological constant...

It's not a matter of something from nothing. But nothing from nothing.

  • I bet they get religious people to act like atheists.

  • Buddhists don't actually believe in a higher being. That's not what Buddhism is about...

  • @fatfatat444 Actually we do believe in higher power(s). Have you been a Buddhist for 15 years like me? No...

  • @SirGeorge8600

Most forms of Buddhism don't include anything that could accurately be called a "god". Making those forms of Buddhism atheistic.

  • I'm an atheist and I'd love to go on that reality show, especially if they offered a prize at the end that was all like YO DENY JESUS AND WIN A GRAND OR ACCEPT HIM AND WIN ETERNAL SALVATION IN THE TITS OF ABRAHAM I'd be richhhhh

  • i see a lot of scared people in these comments if youre 100% atheists wach the damn show

  • thats a great idea

  • as time has began and history has been recorded there are 0% occurrences of a god, demi-god or any religious occurrence happening. So by this at this current time 2/8/11 atheism is 100% accurate. atheism the rejection of belief in the existence of deities. so until there is any suggestions remotely that a God or deity exists that is the actual proof of atheism. Furthermore as science continues we are slowly increasing further evidence to disprove the theory of a God or Deity.

  • @Xarai lack of proof isn't the same as having proof, you double negate atheism.... Also science as a whole doesn't relate to it, just specific sciences.

  • Just read a bible, it will make you an atheist

  • @maru14able co-signed

  • @maru14able hahaha

  • @maru14able You should try reading it. You might not feel that way.

  • @maru14able ...JUST BECOME OLD....THAT'LL MAKE YOU RELIGIOUS ;-)

  • @Lifter85MADE ME AN ATHEIST

  • Honestly I don't think anyone could convert me from an atheist because LOOK at the planets! Look theres a whole entire universe, filled with other landscapes and probably other life forms and none of that is in the Bible- the Earth is all that matters apparently. Are there seperate Bible's for aliens? Explain that.

  • Your post is very interesting because a sizable number of religious people consider extraterrestrial life a threat to the faith. Although many religious people (including the more educated ones) do not see this as a problem. As the Bible or any other holy text is not saying that extraterrestrial life does not exist, they simply remain mute on the subject. Some even have advanced ancient astronaut theories. That ancient man was visited by extraterrestrials in the book of Ezekiel Ch. 1.

  • @Keysteeze Most religious responses to my question pretty much say "God works in mysterious ways and does not reveal all to us- but he created the Sun for light and the Moon for the tides" to which I answer no shit that's why he made those things, what about the other 13 billion light years of space? It's depressing because I'd like to believe in something but religion is just so damn illogical.

  • Well you might be a deist. A deist is someone who rejects man made religions, all of them. However they do believe that there is a certain order and complexity to nature that seems to indicate an intelligence was behind it. (Teleology). Most deist have no problem with accepting evolution, stellar evolution, and big bang cosmology. If you like you could choose to believe that an intelligence created the cosmos and then no longer intervenes.

  • its really intresting how the guy is really emotional about this. He shows a lot of hate toward religion but all in all i think hes smart but man lighten up

  • I assume they will lie, misrepresent and use scripture to further their own agenda's.Its not surprising that the religious leaders are scared their books of fairytales will be shown on tv for what they are, nothing but superstitious, archaic books that have no basis in science, fact and common sence

  • God, this man is annoying. His jokes are even failing on his co-host. You can tell that she doesn't want to have to listen to this man any longer. Watch her look at her notes hoping that the segment is over. This man would be insufferable at a bar.

  • @neomp5 So true. So true. This sounds truely amazing. I really want to see this show.

  • what's the show name?

  • man i would LOVE to believe in eternal life after death of pure bliss, not ever lsoing anyone etc etc...who in their right mind would NOT want to believe that? i can not make myself believe something, and i'm not sure any atheist can. i'd always rather have the truth than live a lie, no matter how much worse the latter may be.

  • @tloskywalker1 I know this was a month ago, but there are actually four ifferent types of buddhism.

  • A show like that would never even get a pilot in America.

  • I think this would be a fantastic idea, however, I wouldn't be surprised if it were scripted in order to control public opinions.

  • i have to say one thing. more harder you grip more star systems escape. aka more they try to convert us. more people are gonna become atheist.

  • Why are Jayar and Ana wearing matching shirts?

  • Gonna disagree and disagree with TYT here. I think the danger is, the way the show is being advertised makes it seem like the "ultimate prize" is belief in a god. Or maybe it's knowledge? Haha, yeah, right.

It seems almost like religious propagenda to me. Plus some atheists might come on there and "convert" just to get the free-trip. However, if it were handled properly it could be an excellent show. But something tells me it wouldn't air if say, the atheists convinced a religious leader.

  • Anyone know the name of the show? Can it be found online?

  • I'd love to watch this show

  • nothing creates atheists like teaching about religion.

  • @neomp5 Well sayd, well sayd.

  • @neomp5 Semi-agree. Also no one converts people other than God because we people are too pushy when it comes to our beliefs. You can't convert someone by rubbing it in their face on and on and on...

  • @neomp5 Actually I was born as an atheist and learned about Islam for 3 years, I am now a Muslim

  • @Lunelitius

then you haven't read closely enough.

  • @neomp5 I think you don't know Islam enough, I learned it for 3 years, I am now a Muslim and no one can change that because I answered all my questions and found proof

  • @Lunelitius

first, no such proof exists. second, religion, including islam, is about believing without proof. third, anything that answers ALL you questions is a lie.

  • @neomp5 well actually these are proofs that proves islam is a good religion, and also you don't even know these answers or my questions, I am a physics student with 150 IQ, If you think I am a stupid for being a Muslim, that is kinda offensive

  • @Lunelitius

stupidity isn't about how much you don't know, it's about how much of what you know that you are willing to reject because you don't like it.

any argument for the truth of a religion applies to all other religions, and all such arguments fail as soon as they attempt to be specific. they can only avoid flat-out refutation by making vague, unfalsifiable claims. this is why every religious person eventually falls back on faith as their only justification.

  • believing in a religion is evidence of an unscientific, and yes, stupid, mind. you cannot believe in religion and be scientifically educated at the same time without superhuman feats of compartmentalisation. they simply do not agree. no matter what proof you might see written on your grilled cheese sandwich, a little understanding of statistics, the law of averages, and the brain's pattern-recognition software makes it impossible to accept such imaginings. you need to learn critical thinking.

  • @neomp5 Well actually I am a Muslim because there are many evidences in Quran, I have been an atheist, than became a deist, now I am a Muslim

  • @Lunelitius

there are not "many evidences" in the quran. what there is in the quran is genies and pegasi and other such fairy tale nonsense. and also something that appeals to you on a nonrational level.

  • @Lunelitius Isn't that like growing up and then start believing in Santa?

  • @neomp5 LOL

  • So did they go through with the TV show or not?

  • if there was only one religion in the world it might just carry a little more weight, but when theres 20 000 of them thats come and gone, well hey wakey wakey faith head get that grey matter working and except the modern world of science speaks the truth with facts and evidence. talking snakes and unicorns, turning people into salt really doesnt wash in this day and age.

  • Been watching this show for a while and there's a disturbing trend of Cenk just ignoring Ana's viewpoint, or make a patronizing comment, to the effect of "shut up and stay pretty while I talk" It's still a good show but Ana deserve a LOT more respect than you're giving her.

  • Isn't Buddhism in the same category as atheist since they lack the belief in any god? If so, then Atheists could argue that they are already "converted" to Buddhism and gain a free trip to Tibet!

  • @Violent2aShadow

The Original Buddhist beliefs are generally athiest. However, it still has a belief in Moksha, which can be conceived also as a union with God 2.0, or the Universe as a big intelligent creator. That's just one view, don't ask me to rationalize it because I don't really understand how that makes sense myself.

On the other hand, since Buddhism sort of diverges from Hinduism, there are certain traditions of Buddhism that incorporate belief in several gods.

  • @DarkAngel0125 well buddhism is hinduism without the gods if u remove god from hinduism u hav buddhism, buddhism respects all hindu gods and goddesses but consider them inferior to buddha and thr existence or non existence has nuthin gt to do with enlightement, its more apatheist thn atheist

  • Yet another painfully bad idea from the "reality show" motherlode. Just when you thought it couldn't get any sleazier ...

  • I wanna be on that show.. anyone who can teach me to speak Turkish, message me lol ;)

  • Lol the chick was on a completely different wavelength to the guy- what a sycophant, pretending she agrees with him.... I agree with the guy on most of it though- I highly doubt any true atheist, that had thought about it critically already, would be swayed by any theists arguments. I reckon most converted "atheists" are really just people who never gave much thought to it one way or the other.

  • WHERE IS THIS SHOW.... I MUST WATCH IT.

  • @elmirasahar On channel 9! It starts at 7 pm

  • @Paulwhoisvegan haha, i happen to know this is a turkish show, and HAS not been made yet.

  • But what if atheists don't want conversion? Ah, I see. Convert them anyway. After all, they need it, even if they don't know it. They are in religious denial after all.

  • @AmerikanBuddha What? That's like saying "what if black people don't want to be white?"

  • i keep trying to find a clip from the show they are talking about , but no luck : (

  • I couldn't imagine anything more pointless than having a group meeting where a bunch of people get together and try to show who's invisible friend is better, and a small rational minority who knows there's no proof for any of it but nobody else wants to listen to them.

  • xccmannx... pick up a book called 'why people believe weird things'. Or 'demon haunted world'. Those would be good starting points for you to attempt to educate yourself. Seriously, if you're seeing demons and crazy shit, you have some serious psychological issues. Help yourself... it's not healthy to believe the things you do!

  • I want to be on it!

  • Is Ana Kasparian an Atheist?

  • You know what I want to see ...I want to watch the moment a chilled out agnostic with enough knowlage of ethics; history and science is pushed to far by the connections they're making in thier brain and flip-out on everybody with a shrill & strident atheististic tirade. 8) joy.joy

  • so i guess by the shows standards, its okay to teach your children religion because they are already getting other view points when they go to public schools.

  • Atheist rebuttal oops more technical difficultys

And now Islams augment (guy runs in swinging a sword) every one is now a happy Muslim

  • And now the Christians augment (God loves you but if you dont love him and use the so called free will he gave you or are unfortunate enough to be born in a country where it was not in his divine plan to make u Christian then you will burn forever but dont worry he has already sacrificed himself to himself to forgive you for the rules he made or he got some random innocent dude to die for the though crimes of every one else, err, we have best partys

  • First the augment from Buddhism (well if you, oops technical difficultys

Atheist rebuttal oops more technical difficultys

    we will be right back

  • LOVE THIS!!!!!!

  • TURK STATS

    (from wikipedia)

    Belief in a god 95%

95 percent conservative religious nuts in turkey?

Most atheist countries are czech, estonia, and sweden.

  • @SeeProfileForDetails nuts? show some fucking respect

  • @xccmannx

Why would anyone show respect for a belief in magical creatures?

  • @mooseflier and yet how can people be so rude?

i dont care what you believe, i will respect it, and you.

just dont walk around disrespecting someone just cause of what they belive in..

its not cool, and you know it, just wait until someone comes along totally shuting you down and disrespecting you just because you belive in something.

  • @xccmannx

So, you would show respect for the idea that microscopic pink and blue stripped dinosaurs roam the surface of Pluto, should someone hold that belief?

If everyone respected every belief out there, then there would be no cause for mental institutions, as 'anything goes'. Any idea, no matter how crazy, would be accepted.

Instead, we have something called reason. And we should use it more often.

  • @mooseflier you cant compare that with crazy people, everyone knows crazy people are crazy except other people..

and you can disrespect what people believe when we all know for a fact that it is totally impossible.

  • @xccmannx

Well, you see xcc... the only thing that stops religious fanatics from being called 'crazy people', as you put it, is the wide acceptance of the idea. You might call someone who believed in Thor or Zeus or Neptune crazy today, but in their own time they were much like today's Christian.

I'm sorry bud, but if you believe in invisible beings watching you, or that you can talk to these magical beings, or in talking snake, virgin births, etc... you are indeed crazy.

  • @mooseflier i seeee..so, what do you believe? obviously whatever you believe..you think is right.

just like the people who thoiught the earth was covered like a caccoon and we never really saw space, or the people that though the earth was flat.

    i wouldnt call them crazy.

those were disproven, can anyone totally disprove God?

    no.

  • @xccmannx

    "can anyone totally disprove God?"

Can anyone disprove the tooth faerie? No. You see, you have the argument backwards. It is not the duty of you or me to disprove someone's claim that there is a tooth faerie, now is it? No, it's the duty of the person making the incredible claim to back it up... in this case, the person claiming that there is a tooth faerie. You can't prove there isn't one, but that doesn't lend any credibility to the idea. Same applies to God.

  • @mooseflier i can understand that...so since no on e can disprove him.. why do you talk with confidence about him being unreal?

  • @xccmannx

Would you not talk with confidence that Santa Clause is not real? You cannot disprove him.

I can say with confidence that God is not real because there is zero supporting evidence. And I would argue, that there is a fair amount of evidence that the loving God of the Bible does not exist, even though it cannot be disproven.

More importantly though, religion OFTEN leads to negative impacts on it's believers and/or society. In short, it's dangerous.

  • @mooseflier ACTUALLY there is proof of God..Noahs ark.. and some more stuff.. but best of all.. I have my own proof..I've seen shit that ahtiests can't explain..

    what then?

  • "ACTUALLY there is proof of God..Noahs ark"

About every four or five years a claim is made that Noah's Ark has been found. Seems there's quite a few Noah's Ark's out there! And each time, religious fanatics who actually believe that ABSURD Biblical story whoop and holler that proof has been found for their beliefs.

This year's newest Noah's Ark is in an undisclosed location, with no scientists allowed to examine anything. Yet you find this compelling evidence. Your standards are poor.
