My understanding is the tires also get eaten up very quickly on the salt flats. I bet you'll have people writing in that their mustangs and camaros would beat that bike.

The motorcycle tires we run are BT002 made by Bridgestone and we have used the same set of tires on this bike for two years with out noticeable wear. If you spin the tires continually during the run you won't go fast and you can create enough heat to chunk the rubber especially if the rubber has not been heat cycled a couple of times.

One little bunch of questions...

Is the bike modified? Is that as fast as she went?

Not putting you down at all. Just my curiosity is getting to me. My friend has a GSXR1000 K7 and keeps ranting and raving about getting it de-limited etc. I was pretty certain that they were limited to 186mph as they couldn't go any faster without some modifications. Proper modifications and not just electronic tinkering... Please let me know. Awesome video by the way. Guts and stamina needed for that!!!

This bike was set up to run in the Production class so no visible modifications are allowed. You can modify the engine internally as long as you use the OEM cases and head and do not change the external appearance. This bike had performance pisons, cams and a powwer commander installed. A TRE device from Schnitz Racing was used to eliminate the 186speed restriction. This bike topped out at 195. The stock speedometer reads aprox 8% higher then the official measured speed.

to every one here. I have been there not long ago. this is not as easy as it seems. the salt is more like sand not as smooth as a paved road. Good job mate. Please next time we want to see the dash board.

You have to cut us some slack on this video since it was the first time we have used this camera on the motorcycle. I should have called you for some tips and I wouldn't have left the auto focus on.
