I think the reason this scene is deleted is because it is about her being persuaded not to go go to LA to give up the baby which isn't that useful for the story considering that the decision she makes is to the opposite.

The pilot is the one who really crashed the plane. He got mad when he got denied by Claire when he asked if Clair was flying alone. So he crashed the plane to give her some pay back. That is really what happened. I do not care what any of you say.
