For a university that prides itself on diversification and tolerance, the many student groups and the sudent politics at York seem to be divided based on ethnicity. This cannot be healthy.

My days in student politics were based on ideology (right vs Left) not ethnicity or Israel vs. Palestine. These groups are not fighting for students, they are fighting for their "cause"

I do honestly think there is one group with all the "same" people (getting privileges over the majority) and then the other group with a mix of all ethnicities trying to make York an environment that is fair and equal for all students...regardless of what each students view is on the whole issue in the middle East. If it was just the Hillel group trying to get rid of YFS, then why are students across the country trying to get rid of CFS organizations all over the place? These are the same people, all across the country that student groups want off their campus because they take political positions the students don't support, and cost money to keep around.

These aren't Jews causing trouble, these were some students with concerns who happened to be Jewish, fighting a group that's clearly anti-semetic.

Nobody ever cared what the student unions did at the schools I attended and so this occurance may seem an improvement to everyone who complains about apathy amoungst our generation. However, I see two distinctive cultural groups turning this into a battle between muslims and jews and expecting the rest of us to take a side. I am on the side of neither because I believe in more than one GOD. Also, I see a lot of grinning faces in the crowd. They seem to be having "fun"

DROP YFS is so racist. They should be able to change the laws of physics so that a greater amount of matter could be allowed into a fixed area. This is just what happened in 1930's Nazi Germany and Austria. The DROP YFS group is a multi-ethnic group of students. Just because some Jewish students are involved, the YFS wanted to turn it into a Middle East politics debate. The hallmark of any democratic government is the PEACEFUL transition of power from one government to another. The YFS does not get that. They are defeated. Time to go.
