The song is "Here and Now [Cicada Mix]" by Client. There are actually a few versions of this import single, the Cicada remix (used in this video here) is the best version in my opinion because it's the most danceable. Hope that helps answer the "what is the song?" question people keep asking. :-)
are those just probationary helmets which cant stand the heat? Because i dont see you guys putting foils around ur helmets before you go into a 'real' fire..
I got my helmet at the start of my training and is made to be used in real emergencies aswell, so i was just wondering if you have different kinds of helmets...
it is in attempt to keep their helmets nice with the flashover temp. being between 1000 and 1200 degrees. Next week Our Guys are doing one and we are using old helmets to keep our helmets good.
prolly thier issued helmets. normally you wouldnt live through a flashover, so yeah, them being in one here would melt their helmets. we did a simulated flashover several times, and it melted/burned my reflective stripes on my helmet, not to mention my door chock was burning when i came out.

ahh reminds me of my academy days... and yes it will melt the faceshield of the helmet if you don't do anything to it.
