sounds good, but i would have concerns about what information the indupendent control center would have and what powers they would be given, would they be able to select a house or street and simply turn off the electricity, or controll the supply? or even controll specific appliences? this system has got potential and would be great if the controll is given almost soley to the user. centralized controll always seems to fail.
An even smarter grid would account for a generator's proximity to load, and allow users to sell electricity, not just buy it. In addition to providing information about time-of-use price and the type of generation, a user-interactive grid would allow energy managers (e.g. households) to sell electricity they produce, for instance, using a solar photovoltaic system on a nearby rooftop, onto a micro-grid (see the CERTS micro-grid concept).
I don't want a stupid looking and slow electric car.
