Ok, first off, those aren't funny cars. Those are just cars, some people call them "door slammers" because they started life as a production car, not as a tube chassis like a "funny car" does. Second, that guy didn't come close to dying, he probably got out and started cussing that he just wrecked a $100k car, give or take. And yes, there's nothing funny about that.
