its not really an iphone vs android user thing. some folks just struggle with touch screen typing on any platform. i wonder why word processors haven't implemented work completion tools yet. spell check is about all you get. i do like swype. i've only had my touch screen for a week now so i'm still very slow compared to my blackberry.

Great skill, but I actually write at least at the same speed with Swype on my crappy nokia 5230 (Symbian 9.4) and keep in mind that usually I type not too fast I prefer swype, cause it's easier... I think, you'd be even faster on swype 'cause you're way faster than me when it comes to normal typing.

I'm sorry actually its 25 words in there, periods and commas don't count, so estimating its about 50wpm give or take not 60 sorry, I try textspeed and now I have 65wpm , but your 50wpm is above average your a fast texter, faster than Swype thats for sure

I don't see what the big fuss is about. I can type this fast. You just have to not worry about being perfectly accurate, because the iPhone does a good job of knowing which key you meant to press.

You may be able to type fast on iPhone but this does not mean that everyone can type as fast as you. I've seen swype making many regular people (including my mom) type 2-3 times faster than on stock keyboard. Plus swype is an OPTIONAL keyboard. If a user isn't happy with this innovative technology they can go back to tapping on the screen a million times to type a sentence.

Which is faster isn't the point. Swype is a brilliant innovation and would only ever be featured on a phone as an OPTION. It's a great idea and for some users, will be brilliant and for other users, interesting but they will still prefer the traditional input method. Everyone should just be happy to see a new technology emerging rather than bitching about which is the fastest.

I can type ridiculously fast using a push-button phone with T9. You just have to get used to it and be able to form thoughts quickly. A lot of people think about what they're going to write and then type, whereas the fastest texters are the people who process texting as a language, not a translation.

Auto correct helped a lot at first, but after a while I didn't even need it. It's not impossible, you're just too shitty to be able to do it so you assume no one can. Ha!! This dude really did text fast. Pay attention to details. If he really sped up the video, then why does his camera adjust to the lighting at a regular speed? Notice how the camera is adjusting to the light as he types, if he really boosted the speed, you would see a rapid change from less bright to more bright, but it fades from darker to lighter, proving the camera was adjusting to light, and since it's obviously not an HD camera, you would be able to see this change, easily.

You can just hold it in your hand and "swype" with your thumb, with about the same speed, and most importantly - semi-blindly: you don't have to hit the exact letters in order to "type" text
