old school bar routines were so scary, but it would be really cool to see SOME of that intricate bar work come back in the scene. trips me out to see how CLOSE they kept the two bars together for those skills though... YIKES!

I don't know as much about Olga, but I know that Nadia and Shannon were two of the toughest, most determined gymnasts in history. Shannon, especially, went through hell her whole career with injuries and her tendancy to totally self-destruct emotionally and then quickly pull it back together. And I would bet money that Nadia can kick Bart's ass, even today.

Olga was incredible tough too, she had to be, she lived through her coach beating and abusing her, he even raped her and she was given pills to delay puberty.

i dont think nadia EVER fell off the beam in major competition, amazing!

I think you're right. I have never seen her feet hit the floor on beam except on a dismount.
