I have this software and I love it.... looking forward to getting Roxio 2011.
The only trouble I have is choosing what format to use when converting videos, there are many many choices to choose from I know I need WMV format but there are a few of those to choose from can anyone tell me what one I need to use?

I'm trying to clear up my grandad's computer to make go a bit more faster than it should, i'm not sure if it was already basicly when baught from shop, on the computer or he downloaded , anyway do we need this on out computer for other stuff. or was it a download he did because i don't want to remove it to make something else not work.
@tibiafinger Try the following....it worked for me, even though it addresses an error code I was getting, it also fixed my problem with the Capture device.
The error is usually caused by corrupted MSXML 4.0 files. Download and install the latest XML 4.0 update from Microsoft.
Download MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 3 from Microsoft Update site.......
I already made a slide show along with music on Windows Movie Maker, Can i take the file i already made to this program. When i use windows Movie Maker it will not play in my DVD player. I am using DVD-R cd's The screen says that the disc dose not have playback. What dose that mean?
LOL, i`m a noob too, so i`m trying to create a slide show that my family and I took to Maine for a family reunion. I have over 300 pics but I only want to do like 40 pics on the slide show w/ some songs in the back ground, but when I open roxio and i do "photo" then "create slide show" it gives me an error, it says " Runtime Error! Program: ...files/roxio R6025 - pure virtual function call" and it only says OK, i cant do anything, HELP PLEASE, and thank you. =)
when using Roxio Creator 2010 i can put an link for another menu on my rute menu but i can not figue out how to put another menu on the dvd for when i click the link on my dvd menu, and when i preview my menu i click my link button on the menu but it takes me no where. can someone help me out?
@manwithnouthingtodo Not exactly clear on what tyou're trying to do. Are you trying to go Main DVD menu > Submenu > video? - OR - Main DVD menu > Submenu > SubSubmenu?
@RoxioSupport well whewn i put a menu on the dvd there i can put a linked button on my menu, but i can not figure out how to link the button, say if when i click the link it would take me to another menu.. dvd > main menu > submenu from the linked button > then what ever i put on the linked menu..
when using Roxio Creator 2010 i can not figure out how to put chapters in my dvd so when i burn the video to disc and then play it in my dvd player i can navigate to the burned movie/video easly,but when i click on my remote the NXT CHAPTERS button, i wate a fue seconds and it takes me back to the disc menu screen. can someone help me?
Roxio Creator Pro 2011 does not work correctly with .mov (Quicktime) video files, it deletes the last part of the native audio track on every file input. What good is a video file with 20% of the audio missing? And, don't expect Roxio to help you with the problem, they don't have an answer!
On my control panel, Roxio was taking up almost 900mgs. Had a lot of productions saved now they are data blanks. Roxio Help. It was fun while it lasted.

It will play on my monitor but says it can't be played on dvd player in my home. I tried 3 different dvd players. Help anyone !!!!
@360atGOD I think you'll be fine. I'm not sure what steps you are taking to create your DVD. Hopefully you are using MyDVD in Creator. If so, it should work fine. Often if a dvd won't play in a dvd player the issue with is media. Try a different piece of media. If that doesn't work send a note outlining exactly what you do in creator to product the DVD. thx.
Thanks I think I may have found the problem. The files that I am trying to burn have are AVI, and I have Easy dvd Roxio program which I hear is the basic one. From what I have read is that this stripped down version wont allow me to burn AVI files. I need to figure out how to convert the files when I rip them from the net, or get Nero or the better version of roxio
Whenever you insert a disc (CD or DVD) into your computer this Roxio software pops up which blocks other programmes and you don't have the option to disable it.
Are Roxio ever going to make useful and bug free software?
I recently bought this for my pc its works well but im p******d of that when i converted the dvd disk data to sync yo my ipod I then played the vid to test it and it went into a connect AVcables now my ipod is a 160GB and that version does not support the AV cables and i was disappointed to not be able to ply my M4A converted data on my ipod and im angry at apple for not have a AV cable out on the market that can be used on a 7generation 160GB ipod
wait til you try web capture before you praise this product.Haven't gotten it to work but one time and then after that forget it.Its the only part of the program I have problems with.If you have the usb cord,that works great.I have taken vcr tapes and made dvds but for web capyure I use real player sp.Roxio cant beat that program.
@sjcict03082 yes; i did mine. It offers transitions, effects, frames, and DVD menues. You can add multiple background audio tracks and even narrate the video if you wish.
@CoopraTroopa I'm assuming you are in Creator when you post to youtube. If so, attempt to post the video to YouTube directly (in other words, not in Creator). If the problem persists, it's likely a format issue. Re-encode or produce the video in a different format and try again.
@pianogirl204 yes. in videowave, select the clip you wish to slow then select "trim". You'll see a "speed" setting. Decrease the time or use the "-" button to slow
@pianogirl204 it depends on what you want to do. There's more of a learning curve if you want to add more effects/controls to your video. If you want to piece together a couple of video clips with transitions and a sound track it's pretty straightforward using the Storyboard view in VideoWave. Happy belated b-day btw

@lb1309 From home select Video/Movies, then Capture Video. We have a capture cable device available at rox.com or you can connect simple stereo "Y" cables if your system supports it.
hey man good video. Can you help me with something. I am trying to burn video clips to a dvd disc. But when i drag or select the video clip to burn ( i choose more than one) the size of each clip becomes 1.5 GB or more when the original size is like 211 mb or 228 mb and so on. I was wondering how to burn the original size clips into the dvd disc. help appreciated.
@naarakyuu not completely sure, but I suspect your source video is something other than mpeg 2. (perhaps you're converting H.263/H.264 to MPEG2?). To create a DVD your original files are converted to MPEG 2 (hence the bigger size). the only way to get them to fit on the dvd is to adjust the video data rate under “Default encoding settings”. Just change the preset to custom and the adjust the bitrate accordingly.
Often, the basic questions are the most difficult to have answered. I want to know if my Roxio Creator 2010 will burn a series of video clips onto a DVD so that their consecutive play is automatic. In other words, I want to start the DVD on the first clip and have it play all the way through without me having to cue each clip individually. Will Creator do that? If so, can you tell me how to adjust my settings for that outcome? Thanks.

I quit and tried with a smaller M2TS(3mb), that one said the same but only took a few seconds once it disappeared (the message) nothing was inserted. i just got this program i like it vary much but i cant find out why it lags when im makeing a video. i was messing around with it and i put a video as a overlay so a video is playing on a video and it lags bad when in the editor but not when it is exported. any one know a way to top the lag when editing. not that its a big problem just anoying when editing???
I think you're supposed to restart your computer after you finish installing the first dvd. maybe you forgot to do that and it is simply reminding you to do it. did you install it yet?

Roxio was great up untill it crashed permanently.

@gbwisconsin yes you can. in mydvd look for "more settings" and use the link feature to connect multiple videos on the single dvd. good luck.
