I love this video. I'm a guy but I've heard all of this stuff from my friends.
I'd say marry me, but there are two of you so...I'd like to invite the two of you to consider exploring an anarchistic, pagan-centric, polyamorous, non-monogamous relationship whose structure is based on a model of consensus that was appropriated from the Native Americans.
Hey feminist bitches......go fist yourselves. There are bigger issues going on in the world than your time of the month or need to go shopping. Seriously it's not rocket science. No one gives 2 shits anymore. It's been decades of this "feminist" movement and the only thing you've proven is that women are still doing what they believe will make a change and that's complain. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
This makes me laugh so hard because it's really true. This is my life. These are the type of friends I have. And it sound so ridiculous. And that's why I nearly peed laughing.

Then choose to become a stay at home mom. I don't get it at all. I also don't understand why feminist n my age group ostracize me for choosing to were skirts. Or, choosing to try for the head cheerleader instead of [cont.]
Every feminist I've ever dated has asked me "what pro-noun do you prefer?" YES, I am a top. NO, I don't have a "pro-noun choice." Plus, have you not noticed that I never wear pants?

@neilswann80 It is a real label...one that I support, equal opportunities are good.
More power regardless of effort or ability (equal outcome) is not.
One promotes equality, the other merely wants to transfer power from one group to another regardless of wether it is equal or not.
Unfortunately the 'broad church' of feminism seems to have members in both groups and since the 'good' don't seem to stand up to the 'bad' it is not unfortunately true that every 'feminist' is not an 'equalist'.
As someone who graduated from a Women's university and had to sit through several women's studies courses...I found this hilarious. The prevailing form of feminism does tend to emphasize white women and I know there were times when my professors had to be hoping that I would shut up...LOL Thanks for the laugh!

It's not as simple as yay or nay when it comes to something like this so... just enjoy the video as a funny little clip and leave the mind boggling debate for appropriate forums. xD
@DeadButBreathing You have, by adopting a word whose meaning is exclusionary as your banner, alienated many who would otherwise support you. Equalitist. Stand for the equality of all people.
@bcbudinto But feminism has always stood for equality! Feminism is a "Equalitist" it is the definition, look around the world, it's women striving to be equal with men, not the other way around.
@bcbudinto Just go to the Middle East and talk to women who are forbidden to walk around without covering their heads, and aren't allowed to drive or vote, and call them sexists for being feminists.
I don't understand this weird hatred against feminists. Are people just confused about the definition. Are guys thinking its man-hating..i don't get it. . . someone explain.
@savethewhales40 Yep and you can blame your fellow females for that, feminist has taken on a term that sounds offensive due to feminists actions, feminists have no one to blame but themselves.
@USABonez Every group comes with it's own crazy bunch. Trouble is, there is some strange hatred towards feminism to the point that the media ignores everything feminists do to help women in danger or in the middle east or gain attention to injustice, rather the media focuses on every single over the top feminist who wants to change useless words and such meaningless things. To hate feminism is to hate women, you don't have to like every feminist, but the concept is still equality.
@DeadButBreathing The media?? Are you kidding me?? Blaming the media? I agree there not truthful but if the community wasnt so lazy they wouldnt rely on the media to "spread the word" so to speak.
@USABonez Yes, the media. If you were an feminist and were interested in achieving equality throughout the world, you'd find a ton of information of how many people feminism has helped.
@USABonez It's not feminists responsibility to educate everyone, the media has a habit of wanting outrageous news, so they focus on outrageous feminists. And so do the public.
@USABonez I will always wish for people to become more educated and less ignorant and judgmental, that doesn't mean it's my responsibility to educate anyone. That also doesn't mean I don't have the right to tell people that I wish they would do more research containing certain very misunderstood subjects. Yes, I'm a feminist and will be one my whole life, my closest friends (Who are mostly men by the way) are also self-proclaimed feminists. We just believe in equality for all.
@DeadButBreathing of course you do, thats why you're a FEMINist and not an equalitist. As a masculinist, I too believe in equality for all. I just put the male designation on there to show how equal I am.
@bcbudinto Oh come on, I'm so tired of people focusing on the word "Feminist" it's like those over the top feminists saying that words like Mankind and History are sexist, stop focusing on the word and focus on the intention. Of course it's called feminism because when the concept was created women WERE NOT EQUAL. They couldn't vote, could work in most respected professions, and always depended on men for income and had little freedom. So it started out as "equality for the fem".
@DeadButBreathing Ok, so change the word. If I said I was a Nazi "oh, but we've changed what the meaning is to mean nice people who want to do good for humanity" people would still think "Hitler"
@bcbudinto Continued- but of course EQUALITY for the female, cannot be equality unless it EQUAL with men, which means equal rights for BOTH, in social and legal standards.
@renesmecullen212 So Cady Stanton, Stone, Anthony and Mott weren't fighting for equality when they sought female suffrage in the 1800s? Because they were the original 'feminists.'
@DeadButBreathing I stand by what I say, as a feminist you HAVE a job to educate people, if you want people to understand anyway, you're ignorant if you believe otherwise. What do you think would happen if MLK said "My job isnt to educate people" thats ignorance and its a disease, you've just been infected.
@USABonez Well what do you think I'm doing right now? I am discussing about it, I openly tell people I am a feminist and if they have questions they can ask me, but my priority is doing what I can to help, I believe actions speak louder than words so I'm not going to go around to people talking about it, I want to do something constructive. And people have a right to educate themselves, all I'm saying is that it's not an obligation of mine to make sure everyone agrees or understands.
@DeadButBreathing Well I understand feminism and I studied it but I still dont agree with it because of obvious reasons, by calling yourselves "feminist" you're saying you're different than other women, I know plenty of women who fight for equal rights and dont call themselves that or place that label on themselves, thats the issue I have with it, if you put yourself in a group people will generalize.
@USABonez Especially not in the western world, because although people might despise feminists in the west, to me it isn't much of a problem, it's a shame because I feel that they have been mislead. But they aren't going to go about trying to restrict anyone's rights, so it's not such a problem that people believe feminism is something it isn't, my focus has been on the eastern part of the world, where the real problem lies.
i am the top commenter i am the top commenter i am the top commenter i am really happy and i also am 'beloved' i am the top commenter lalalalala im so bored im so bored. I'm not crazy or anything.. =)
It's interesting to me how much of this intersects with postmodern, structuralist, and post-structuralist philosophy. I guess because I don't really study in the humanities (except philosophy, where I focus on analytic philosophy) I forget that these philosophies have actually influenced the social sciences.
@dansemacabre17 sorry, I must disagree. You are right, it is possible to dislike Obama and not be racist. But the comments on this video are sexist and to dislike feminism is sexist because it goes against an IDEA not a person. That idea is (for me at least) supports gender equality. So being anti-feminist is rejecting gender equality and supporting gender INEQUALITY ...aka sexism.
@OHMYGOSHitsSARA Get over yourself.... Television media is totally biased to be pro-woman then pro-man. The lack of one sex over the other creates a vacuum that must be filled. This too is echoed in our educational systems (a Womans Studies, and no Mens studies). You maddam, are selectivly choosing what to be offended over. Bite Me
Hahahahaha! This is the best video I've seen yet! And I am centering my basis on my subject positions as a black, 21 y-o, cis-gendered lesbian equity activist. Keep resisting dominant discourses so maybe ppl can stop & challenge hegemonic structures by acknowledging their social privileges ;-) *Back to reading Butler on Queer Performativity*
Haha- as a straight man who has had to suffer 12 credit hours of women's studies_ i must say you hit the nail on the head. That academic white feminism is pretty "per formative" when you think of it.
@renesmecullen212 how old are you? A feminist is anyone who believes that men and women are & should be treated equal. nothing more/less. Are you saying you prefer being inferior to men?
@sunkissed00004 I happen to be 14 years old, but I mean, if you're so much about 'equality', that doesn't matter, right? I think people need to realize that there ARE many differences between men and women, and techinically we aren't "equal". I'm not saying girls should be payed less for the same job or anything. And I don't hate all feminists, what I should've said is I don't agree with the feminist movement. Also, the term 'feminist' implies females are better, not equality.
@renesmecullen212 you might be the smartest 14 year old i've ever heard......... there are MANY adult women who don't understand basic concepts like you do
congrats
although 2am is a bit late for a 14 year old to be posting, no?
@renesmecullen212 NO it doesn't. There are 5 main types of feminism. One of which is Liberal Feminism-which is merely asking for equality. Another is radical feminism- which is the anti bra, revolutionize the system type. I am guessing you don't agree with radical. However to denounce the entire feminist movement, is to ask to return to the days when women were not allowed to vote b/c of our "feeble" minds. you're inadvertently giving fodder to sexist who want to put YOU down. Astonishing really
@PrincessEay [sigh] Just read my other comment, I'm too lazy to type it all again. Oh never mind fuck that, ok So, I don't hate every feminist, just the, well, 'feministic' ones. Feminism isn't about equality, it's about females being better. Which isn't right at all. Anyway, do you really want guys to cook and clean and raise the kids? They'd fuck it all up.. And dudes are discrimated against too. They're seen as dumb, lazy and if they do anything remotely 'girly', they must be gay
@renesmecullen212 This is why we need feminism, to create the equality. And men should be treated equally too, given the benefit of the doubt. Don't just assume they'll fuck things up. That lack of respect does lead anyone to progress.
@LuluRoxYourFuzzySox I can't argue there, because I'm not really sure what I meant earlier. I think that men and women should be equal, but that doesn't neseccarily mean that they're exactly the same, which is what alot of people get confused about. I'm kind of mad at myself for that last post though.. DX
@renesmecullen212 Feminism is *not* about women being better. It's about women fighting for equality. Yes, guys are discriminated against. If they're called "girly", it's an insult. Why? Because being a woman is the ultimate insult, apparently. Society's standards of men is a different topic, but these feminists fight to make sure women are in control of their own reproductive/political/etc. rights.
You thinking that staying at home and raising kids is a woman's job is why we need feminists.
@gliiidaren93 Thanks, you too. It's funny, because I'm not a fucking idiot. In fact I know quite a bit about fucking... No but really I'm just trolling. I don't really give a fuck either way about feminism in America, we have rights here, I think people should be more worried about helping middle eastern countries, ect.
@renesmecullen212 Soooooo.... I guess you won't be needing the right to vote, go to university, to dress how you want (without expecting harassment or assault), to make a single decision without your father/husband or just live your life how you want to? You do realize that Feminists in the pasts fought and even died so you can enjoy these basic human rights, don't you?
Oh well, your username IS based off a character from Twilight. I shouldn't be surprised that you don't care.
An unintended consequence of the feminist movement: American men becoming feminine, gossipy bisexuals who like to talk about celebrities, dancing and fashion (example: Matt Lauer).
Next thing you know, women will want to vote.

@OHMYGOSHitsSARA Implying that most feminists aren't sexist.

Fuck women. They are for cooking and fucking. It's 2012, get with the picture.

Are you saying you prefer being inferior to men?
sunkissed00004 4 days ago
@sunkissed00004 I happen to be 14 years old, but I mean, if you're so much about 'equality', that doesn't matter, right? I think people need to realize that there ARE many differences between men and women, and techinically we aren't "equal". I'm not saying girls should be payed less for the same job or anything. And I don't hate all feminists, what I should've said is I don't agree with the feminist movement. Also, the term 'feminist' implies females are better, not equality.
renesmecullen212 4 days ago
@renesmecullen212 you might be the smartest 14 year old i've ever heard......... there are MANY adult women who don't understand basic concepts like you do
congrats
although 2am is a bit late for a 14 year old to be posting, no?
DeliciousPoop 4 days ago
@renesmecullen212 NO it doesn't. There are 5 main types of feminism. One of which is Liberal Feminism-which is merely asking for equality. Another is radical feminism- which is the anti bra, revolutionize the system type. I am guessing you don't agree with radical. However to denounce the entire feminist movement, is to ask to return to the days when women were not allowed to vote b/c of our "feeble" minds. you're inadvertently giving fodder to sexist who want to put YOU down. Astonishing really
sunkissed00004 2 days ago
@renesmecullen212 So as a female you hate other people who fight for your rights and equality? Okay.
PrincessEay 3 days ago
@PrincessEay [sigh] Just read my other comment, I'm too lazy to type it all again. Oh never mind fuck that, ok So, I don't hate every feminist, just the, well, 'feministic' ones. Feminism isn't about equality, it's about females being better. Which isn't right at all. Anyway, do you really want guys to cook and clean and raise the kids? They'd fuck it all up.. And dudes are discrimated against too. They're seen as dumb, lazy and if they do anything remotely 'girly', they must be gay
renesmecullen212 3 days ago
@renesmecullen212 This is why we need feminism, to create the equality. And men should be treated equally too, given the benefit of the doubt. Don't just assume they'll fuck things up. That lack of respect does lead anyone to progress.
LuluRoxYourFuzzySox 3 days ago
@LuluRoxYourFuzzySox I can't argue there, because I'm not really sure what I meant earlier. I think that men and women should be equal, but that doesn't neseccarily mean that they're exactly the same, which is what alot of people get confused about. I'm kind of mad at myself for that last post though.. DX
renesmecullen212 3 days ago

I don't really give a fuck either way about feminism in America, we have rights here, I think people should be more worried about helping middle eastern countries, ect.
renesmecullen212 2 days ago
@renesmecullen212 Soooooo.... I guess you won't be needing the right to vote, go to university, to dress how you want (without expecting harassment or assault), to make a single decision without your father/husband or just live your life how you want to? You do realize that Feminists in the pasts fought and even died so you can enjoy these basic human rights, don't you?
Oh well, your username IS based off a character from Twilight. I shouldn't be surprised that you don't care.
