  • I live at Hoxton :D

  • Good to see a reopened line in action but, like Cazkumali, I am surprised that this substantially new line was not electrified at 25kV AC in view of the apparent present thinking that the DC third rail has had its day. I wonder whether the old 'cheaper to install' argument won again - as it has done since the 1930s!

  • @dajwilkinson It would have made sense, but the praciticalities of getting OHLE into the tunnel sections and south of New Cross Gate would have been more expensive!

  • Nice commuter trains. Thumbs up! :)

  • My dad is the signaller on this line.

  • @whirlpoolking Yes they are

  • @Southernrailwaysfan I wish the 378/1s were dual-voltage units but good video anyway

  • Id prefer to see the doors on them flush with the body. Only been on it twice. Still dont understand the meaning of the Overground. There trains doing the same routes? anyway. Would love to see Commuter trains like this in Ireland, Course they would have to be diesel cause no electricity bar the D.A.R.T. what a waste.

  • why dont bachmann make a model of these modern units there coolio love the sound too

  • Dalston Junction is about a 5 mins walk from Haggerston!

  • This train has the only announcement voice that I actually like. All the other trains have really annoying voice thingies.

  • Can't wait to check this line out in November yay...

  • @khaos526 Its a cool line :) I hope to flim down this line again soon as now i have a HD Camcorder so i could get some HD Footage of 378s down here thanks for the comment

  • Yeah I didn't know what to expect or how it looked like. Your video at least gives me a good look at inside the train. It almost seemed like it wasn't going to be a typical tube line, but it pretty much is and really isn't much different then other lines, except for the newer trains...

  • GREAT VIDEO !!!! love these trains !

    cheers :)

  • @DarkDudeForever Thanks mate same i hope to flim more 378s sometime soon

  • Nice video there these Units look and sound so good for the London Overground

  • brilliant video - I love the new class 378s!

  • Great vid! :D

  • @toppackage Thanks mate :)

  • We are all heading off from Crystal Palace for a Bagel Beano Sunday 23rd May at 10.30 am. The day our tube opens on the ELL. Come along and take a trip to Brick Lane for the best salt beef bagels in London. mmm!

It's just for fun so bring the family and wear a silly hat. Hope to see you there.

  • Nice. ;D How did you get a empty coach lol. :O

  • Now that's what I call a great video!

  • @RailPhotoAnthology Cheers mate

  • cool video,luke

  • @CLASS376BOY Thanks mate

  • I'm hoping to do it from Shoreditch Station on the first day.. These sound exactly like Eletro star ones on the C2C Route.. West Ham Service...

  • @jack253 Thats awesome it is a nice ride i like the Class 357s Electrostars on the C2C Line i still need to flim one in the white livery.

  • had to fav this 1 mate

  • @kieron1997 Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it

  • the line looks gd: fast and clean and all that. it is a useful extension, even if i am unlikely to be affected by it.

but for all its improvements, im afraid the line has lost all character. it used to be a tube line with unique trains and was unique along with the rest of the tube. but now, to me at least, it is just another railway with nothing to distinguish it from any other railway :( still, it was a gd video!

  • Good job, nice route. 5* + fav :)

  • @Desiro360 Thanks mate :)

  • do all trains stop at every station because just the other day, i saw one go past Haggeston without stopping?

  • @BlueMeteor2009 Yeah trains do stop at every station but if they past a station then they will be on test runs.

  • i will have to see this soon

  • @HSTHoward Yeah it is a nice line

  • Cool

  • @Class59Cameron Thanks mate

  • Fantastic :D +Fav.

  • @HSTChris Thanks Mate glad you enjoyed it :)

  • @Electrostar377 Thanks Mate its a great line :)

  • Excellent Video Luke Like + Fav

  • @goonerlewis16 Thanks Lewis The East London Line Is Great :) My fav places for video shots has got to be Hoxton as you get the 378 going around the bend + the city buildings in the blackground i also like Dalston Junction & Surrey Quays its nice they have keep some of the old stations names and places and changed it into a mordern station like Surrey Quays its amazing how some stations on the old east london line closed in 1940 and now they are back in 2010.

  • @Southernrailwaysfan i am going to go on it before the proper opening next month, i will film at some of the places you went to

  • @goonerlewis16 Thats cool.
